  • Didn't James Dean Bradfield have something to do with this. Certainly a Manics feel to it.

  • Making music that refers to old classics is so intelligent, so fresh, so savvy... absolutely marvelous. Like there's nothing new to do. Oh, beautiful decadence. People look so smart in black!

  • regareded as the greatest song of the decade by swedish critic, journalist and fanatic krautrock fan Fredrik Strage. Fredrik, vi älskar dig.

  • She's gorgeous.

  • you're forgetting jesus and mary chain's just like honey! thats an indie classic

  • It's a deliberate reference, as they've tried to incorporate other satirical symbols from pop culture in this track. The use of "Yeah yeah" and "Oh Baby" is another, as they're just meaningless phrases that have punctuated pop music for a long time. It's a brilliant song.

  • (First reference being the iconic drum beat from "be my baby")

  • Best. song. ever.

  • Yes, EVER!!!!!!

That. and Go Back, by Crabby Appleton.

  • This song has become quite prophetic considering the current recession.

  • Always makes me happy to hear it

  • its shockin that this snuck by everyone--i heard it on sean rowleys show ( before guilty pleasures), i never got round to buying LP, whats it like

  • LP ain't so great to be honest. You can download it from emusic. Nothing comes close to the wonder of this...

  • They are epic live, saw them supprting JDB of the Manics in Cardiff a year or 2 ago, very unique stuff BRILLIANT!

  • The best pop song ever recorded.

  • One of the lost gems of pop history

  • Man, she is pretty

  • where can i find the album lyrics???????????

  • This is an awesome song contrary to those primitive songs of today...

  • Truly beautiful. No wonder the industry's going down the drain if they could'nt be bothered to promote this!

  • the unofficial lyrics are on the right are almost accurate except for

you are the~-you was the~(first time)

    frequency-frequencies

i know because ive got the cd with lyrics

  • God I love this song. A pity there hasn´t been more from them since this.

  • I've said it before, so I will say it again. This is a truly great record. Good to see the lyrics finally too!

  • what an awesome tune, overlooked too much.

  • Thank you so much psychomachia. I've been trying to find these lyrics for about 2 years now.

  • If you're looking for lyrics, there's a good attempt at them up at a Japanese blog [d. hatena . ne . jp / DieSixx / 20061222]. They're not entirely accurate, I think, but they're the closest I've come to finding real lyrics on the web.

  • Are there any more good songs by this band? This is the only song by them that I've heard.

  • Johnny Boy, the song, is pretty good.

  • And this song '15 Minutes'. It's on their myspace.

  • i've never heard this song before. i avoided it because i expected it to sound like... i dunno... hipstery boyrock i suppose. great song, shame about the title.

  • Does anyone know where to find the lyrics to this?

  • I've tried looking everywhere and I still can't find it. :S

  • erm, why dont you watch the video? just read the signs. or listen to the song. in fact it isnt hard to understand....

  • I love this song

  • you can get it from their myspace. i saw them at a gig last night, they were immense.

  • hey. i was there to.. Twas awesome. What did u think of Lucky Soul?

  • I was disappointed. I'm afraid we left about 8 bars into thier second song. Not my cup of tea at all. We were there for Johnny Boy, tho', so... It's a lovely venue tho', been there a few times.

  • fuckin good!

  • total pop fuckin heaven.

  • !FIT TUNE! not the best thing ever by a long way, but still good. what is all this post 9/11 stuff??? dont understand why that is the start of an era - evil though it was, it was only the product of decades of destructive us policy, and the US has continued the same policies, its just the population know it now!

  • The greatest pop record ever made.

  • the greatest pop song of all time!!

  • I think the reason no product is available in the uk is because they are not nineteen and they are talented. These things can kill your career in britain, which is awash with untalented teenagers.

  • Awesome.This is my generation's anthem.

  • The greatest record ever made.why. coz it takes all whats great about classic pop music and still does something original. Spector mets revolver meets punk meets god. Best post 9/11 pop song anyway.

  • I agree. This is a stone classic song. SHOULD of been massive.

  • Fantastic song, this.

  • back to 60's moods, but why not ?

  • awesome, what a song

  • i like this song very much!!
