@fatactress10 My Boss has a TL and I have a '07 Si Cpe. We've raced 4 times, and I've beaten him every time by about a 50' lead. Both very nice cars, but you honestly can't race a TL when you have 4 buddies with you in an Si; one of which appeared to be at LEAST 250lbs in the passenger seat. They just don't have the torque to race with an added thousand pounds of ass in them. So, to clear things up, the stock Si DOES actually beat the stock TL. Hands down. He shouldn't of even tried honestly.

The kid can't drive. I own a 2007 Si, and a 2008 TL. The Si should have easily gotten this decade old Acura. I am pretty certain the Si is a bit faster than even my 08 TL, though TL is much nicer

ok first off that 2000 acura is a tl not a type s from what he wrote on the description box so it has 225 bhp a the civic i dont eve know if it hits the 200bhp mark and for the dude who said that the acura has 270 bhp and 5.8 seconds to 60 a little off my 2003 type s has 260 bhp and with stock tires will do 60 in about 6.3 seconds but since i have gotten some better rubber the quickest run i had was a 5.99 so 6 seconds lets not get ahead of ourselves

Don't why people hating. First off the Civic SI is already at an advantage due to the engine size compared to the 3.2 the TL has. Also the Civic SI has more passengers by 2-3 while the TL has done. If both cars were only just driver than the race would be more fair, and the SI would actually have kept up. The Civic SI is a pretty decent pace car. Did you know the Civic SI is faster than the Lexus IS250? Civic SI is not a joke car; its pretty good in performance. Got potential.

Okay. This race is awesome. because it shows how much you sorry ricers in civics and integras think you're fast against a luxury vehicle. GET OVER IT. The TL won because its a way better car. Considering the TL weighs as much as the 3 of the people in the civic combined. if this was 1v1, the TL still would've won. 4 Cyl. vs. a 6 Cyl. we already know whats better. the TL overall was built and made better. you're lucky the TL driver wasnt in SS mode or he would've dusted the SI even faster.
And seeing he was handling the Camera with his right Arm he wasn´t even using SportShift (Semi-Auto) in Full Auto D5 the car shift quicker, even in full throttle. So the odds still are in favor for the TL. in SportShift the difference could have been Massive.
The 3+ People on the Si could be the problem BUT then again Racing on a
"4cyl Sedan" its a bad call against a
"6cyl Sedan" any time of the year.... where the TL has a Shit ton of Torque, the Si still needs to carry all the extra Steel Frame being a dumb Sedan with its tiny engine. the TL would smoked him either way with or without the extra passengers easily.

It should also be noted that the Si will need about 4 normal sized people in the car to weigh as much as the Acura with 1 or 2 passengers. Acura's base curb weight is around 3450lbs vs 3100 for the Si. The Si has no chance. I loved my Acura and my FA5 but the Acura was clearly faster.
are you on crack? 95-99 civics are respectable, but i can't see how you can compare them to the new Si with a k series motor. the only way your statement could be true is if the 95-99 civic had a k-swap. even at that, your comparison would be ludacris.
I've had the fortune to own both a bone stock 07 FA5 and a bone stock 2002 UA5 (3.2TL). My TL was the regular version with 225hp and 216tq. Sorry, but as someone who owned and loved both cars, you're full of it. The TL would leave the FA5 floundering in the dust. The torque difference was huge. The FA5 has slightly less than 140lb-ft - the TL had about 75lb-ft more. This video is completely accurate and what one could expect in this type of race.
No shit. I owned both of those cars - a 2002 Acura TL and 07 Si Sedan. The Si has 197hp and 138tq and the Acura 225hp and 216tq. The Acura has a MASSIVE torque advantage and that's why it is so much quicker than the Si. Has nothing to do with passengers.
A Pontiac Grand Am GT with a cold air took my friend's 2000 TL (Comptech Icebox/Catback exhaust/coilovers) and yet the Si smokes GT's. You're talking out of your ass dude lol. This was an unfair race from the start. The Si DOES have 4 normal sized people in the car in this video, and with the torque it's got, it can't be called a fair race. 2000 3.2 TL 0-60: 6.6 quarter mile: 15.0 2006 Si (test run 1) 0-60: 6.6 quarter mile: 14.9 run 2 0-60: 6.2 quarter mile: 14.7 The Si is quicker.
Yes, this anecdotal evidence is all that we needed to solve this mystery. The Si better have a DAMN good driver to accomplish a sub-7 0-60 time or a sub-15 quarter mile time. The Acura, being an automatic, requires little skill. You better be a professional driver able to exploit the Si's limits without mistake. I've OWNED both these cars. 2950 is approx wght without fluids. These cars were probably of equal weight during this race. Si has no chance.
Well it does though.. NOT going by any stats posted on here, from what I have seen, I would believe the TL to be MUCH faster.. They are fast cars in general... And they DO have more TQ +HP than the Si, so it would probably win anyway.. but having owned a Civic I can say, as quick as they can be, with such little TQ, ONE passenger slows them down DRAMATICALLY... 4 just KILLS them.. Not saying it still wouldnt have lost.... just not as badly.

Ha, I was searching TL-S VS Si and came across this video, I just raced a Type S last night and want to see what's out there cuz I took the (08) TL-S I was racing in my Si. First I couldn't believe it, but i pulled on him hard on 3rd and 4th and I was about 3 cars ahead after 4th, so it's nothing like this video at all. I only have a short ram intake, i thought the TL-S was an auto? But still, with 286hp I expected that thing to be gone by the time i'm on 3rd. But it was the other way around
He was fucking with you and not seriously racing. Had a 2007 Si, and it was no match for even a 225hp TL because it simply had no torque. You should know (common sense) that your Si can't hang with a car that has nearly 100hp more and 120+ lb-ft of torque more. Would you argue that there's a difference between a Mustang V6 and a Mustang GT? Cause that's about the same difference.
whats rather sad is that the 3.2TL stock runs 7.6 to 60 and 15.8seconds in the quarter mile. which is almost a full second behind the stock 07' SI which supposedly does it in 14.9 seconds..whatever TL>Civic anyway

Don't why people hating. First off the Civic SI is already at an advantage due to the engine size compared to the 3.2 the TL has. Also the Civic SI has more passengers by 2-3 while the TL has done. If both cars were only just driver than the race would be more fair, and the SI would actually have kept up. The Civic SI is a pretty decent pace car. Did you know the Civic SI is faster than the Lexus IS250? Civic SI is not a joke car; its pretty good in performance. Got potential.

Okay. This race is awesome. because it shows how much you sorry ricers in civics and integras think you're fast against a luxury vehicle. GET OVER IT. The TL won because its a way better car. Considering the TL weighs as much as the 3 of the people in the civic combined. if this was 1v1, the TL still would've won. 4 Cyl. vs. a 6 Cyl. we already know whats better. the TL overall was built and made better. you're lucky the TL driver wasnt in SS mode or he would've dusted the SI even faster.

And seeing he was handling the Camera with his right Arm he wasn´t even using SportShift (Semi-Auto) in Full Auto D5 the car shift quicker, even in full throttle. So the odds still are in favor for the TL. in SportShift the difference could have been Massive.

"6cyl Sedan" any time of the year.... where the TL has a Shit ton of Torque, the Si still needs to carry all the extra Steel Frame being a dumb Sedan with its tiny engine. the TL would smoked him either way with or without the extra passengers easily.

I own both of these cars.. well my bro has a tl and i have an si.. The si feels alot faster because its not a luxury car but im thinking the tl might be a little bit faster. Either way All the si has goin for it is its lighter and in this video it has a full car of kids..

Civic Si weight : 2945 lbs..+ 4 passangers which we will say weigh about 150 lbs = 3545 lbs
this is with 197 hp and 136 tq
2000 TL weight 3447 lbs +1 passenger = 3597
this is with 225 hp and 216 tq

I raced my 05 tl stock with my 07 si stock and every run, the tl beat the si. even with my mod chip i added after stock run, the tl beat it. btw...it definately sounds like one of the cars in this vid has a supercharger..maybe im wrong...but listen...

It should also be noted that the Si will need about 4 normal sized people in the car to weigh as much as the Acura with 1 or 2 passengers. Acura's base curb weight is around 3450lbs vs 3100 for the Si. The Si has no chance. I loved my Acura and my FA5 but the Acura was clearly faster.

I've had the fortune to own both a bone stock 07 FA5 and a bone stock 2002 UA5 (3.2TL). My TL was the regular version with 225hp and 216tq. Sorry, but as someone who owned and loved both cars, you're full of it. The TL would leave the FA5 floundering in the dust. The torque difference was huge. The FA5 has slightly less than 140lb-ft - the TL had about 75lb-ft more. This video is completely accurate and what one could expect in this type of race.

No shit. I owned both of those cars - a 2002 Acura TL and 07 Si Sedan. The Si has 197hp and 138tq and the Acura 225hp and 216tq. The Acura has a MASSIVE torque advantage and that's why it is so much quicker than the Si. Has nothing to do with passengers.

Yes, this anecdotal evidence is all that we needed to solve this mystery. The Si better have a DAMN good driver to accomplish a sub-7 0-60 time or a sub-15 quarter mile time. The Acura, being an automatic, requires little skill. You better be a professional driver able to exploit the Si's limits without mistake. I've OWNED both these cars. 2950 is approx wght without fluids. These cars were probably of equal weight during this race. Si has no chance.

Well it does though.. NOT going by any stats posted on here, from what I have seen, I would believe the TL to be MUCH faster.. They are fast cars in general... And they DO have more TQ +HP than the Si, so it would probably win anyway.. but having owned a Civic I can say, as quick as they can be, with such little TQ, ONE passenger slows them down DRAMATICALLY... 4 just KILLS them.. Not saying it still wouldnt have lost.... just not as badly.

Ha, I was searching TL-S VS Si and came across this video, I just raced a Type S last night and want to see what's out there cuz I took the (08) TL-S I was racing in my Si. First I couldn't believe it, but i pulled on him hard on 3rd and 4th and I was about 3 cars ahead after 4th, so it's nothing like this video at all. I only have a short ram intake, i thought the TL-S was an auto? But still, with 286hp I expected that thing to be gone by the time i'm on 3rd. But it was the other way around

He was fucking with you and not seriously racing. Had a 2007 Si, and it was no match for even a 225hp TL because it simply had no torque. You should know (common sense) that your Si can't hang with a car that has nearly 100hp more and 120+ lb-ft of torque more. Would you argue that there's a difference between a Mustang V6 and a Mustang GT? Cause that's about the same difference.
