  • Thank you for posting this. Our society needs more people like him. He shares with humble wisdom things that we can all learn from and apply in our hectic lives, regardless of our background.

  • I wish there were more natives like you. I recently found spirituality and read so much and want to find my path. Thanks for your words of wisdom.

  • these indians speaking english and acting like a white man.. disrespecting their ancestors spirit ..

  • My heart aches to see how sick the world is, although im very spiritual its impossiable for me to be adjusted to the sick society i live in. I know the Natural truth will save us in the end, peace

  • @redsunflower67 I dont mean to be rude or offensive but if you aren't a native or dont know the traditions very well then how would I for example know when the tree was answering me? Again I dont mean to be rude and i am fascinated by Native culture but again i have no native blood in me so how would i know when a spirit be it from a tree or an animal is answering me?

  • @Bayliss27 Nobody can tell you, it will contact you in it's own way or give you an answer.

  • @Bayliss27 Its those moments when the crow stares right into you and you simply understand what it has to say to you. Or when the squirrel sits at your feet to tell you a story. Or when the large oak tree in your back yard gives you a save place to hide or to meditate or siply enjoy its pressence. It is moments like these that you know you have reached comunication.

  • i agree with his words they are the same as my elders

  • weird as it sounds natives are all over the the world ..same ,eskimoes ,in the north ..and even not explored tribes in a jungle somewhere on this planet ...but they share the same religion ...so the creator and his way is way older than any modern religion :)

  • @gardini100 corection now they are no longer called eskimoes that word is quite offensive "it means raw meat eaters" now they are called inuit because it is their traditional peoples name.

  • @ShaolinRyan oh i did not know that ..inuit from now :)

  • i'm Chicano and I agree 100% with this speaker.

  • smoke the tobacco and your hate will go away

  • @selenadelos Some of us white people are pretty damn sick of these intolerant christians too. Oh well, it only strenghtens our beliefs and makes me realize how lucky I am not to be christian.

  • why they hell when people talk about native people or stuff always got to have flutes or some drum in the backgrounds? irritating

  • @rezsurfer That music is a very big part of us and our way of life. Maybe you should find a culture that fits your likes and stop watching anything that irritates you. Peace Jim

  • @IamMohawk im sure you believe the hollywood song of "our" people is real also.. the song of hiawatha was created by a white man, and made all indians in movies and cartoons as onne song. deep drums in back ground. we ALL dont need flutes and drums because we all aint sterotypes living in todays world. maybe you and others enjoy pretending to be all stoaic and like flutes and drums behind you voice. I for one and many i know do not like it its a generation gap.

  • @rezsurfer I have viewed your youtube channel and I see you do nothing to carry the stories, I am not your judge but I do have my own mind. This man that made this video was very respectful of us all and Mr Tarbell I am sure would agree. Are you looking for an answer in your life? Are you mad at something in your life? I meant no harm with my suggestion of you finding some other culture to watch. It is very clear that your heart is not were it should be when searching. Peace

  • Believing in a higher power isn't enough - support a resource-based economy through The Zeitgeist Movement.

  • for years I have found that the only true path for me would be through the native anerican thechings. I know very little of the acutal teachingsall I know is in my heart this is where I belong I feel the nedd to pursere this I am lost I don't know where to start I cannot see how Jesue could be the only ture salvation becuuse Native Americans were a very spiritual culture before Jesus and I know that they are just as important as anyone who feels that he is saved because is of this jesus

  • @trotwoodtrouble You might be interested in Acharya S. Check her out.

  • dang... Veteran, Professor, Native American, star wars fan... this guy is the man!

  • Wonderful words, so authentic and helpful!

  • Agree 100% with my brother here. If the dominant culture had listened to the First Natives who were here when they came & whom they tried to destroy, there wouldn't be such imbalances on this continent and which continues to grow. Everything said here makes a lot of sense. We need to have the peace that ONLY comes from knowing and daily looking to the Creator, respecting the Earth he has given us, and all his creation. That is a true spiritual essence & something few seek after.

  • 1. Yesterday I was very confused about my path. I was very angry and upsad because I did not know If I choosed the right way to find divinity. And I said in my mind "God , please give me a sign to know If is right what I am doing" And later, night I had an interestring fdeam. I saw my self ( in dream ) rising up to Light. And today I saw this video and heard this guy what happend to me. It happened what he says to 7:06 This is synchronicity ot divine sign to show me the right way. I

  • 2. I was caught, and I am still between two religions or believes; christianity and universal spirtuality, I call it universal spirituality because dose not belong to any dogma, cult or religion. This universal spirituality sound like this: God loves us unconditionall and there is nothing that we can do to change this. We are one with nature, universe and God. Separateness is just an illusion, our dualistic thinking also is illusion light / dark, good/ evil...Out purpose is to dicover all these.

  • 3. When we have an dualistic thinking, then we see us as separate from one another. When we see us as One, then we can resolve any problem. There are no bad/evil people, there are only people who need more help from us.This is the type of education that we need. There is only one true religion which is LOVE, and there is only one race / family which is humanity. We need to share trough the education the real values of life: respect, compassion, love, care, heal each other, faith --> Spirituality.

  • I love native americans.

  • Native Americans elders were pushed into white peoples ways. There was no religion for native americans. Natives were sent to missionary schools to rip them of there beliefs. Which is the great spirit. Religion is a white mans word. We are spiritual! We were striped of our beliefs and our language. Thank you for your time. I am Mourning Dove, from the Stockbridge Munsee Band of Mohican reservation.

  • @sburr58 I have been on a wholistic journey or endeavor in order to overcome some health problems, first I concentrated on the body in the way of diet and supplements, second on the mind, dealing with emotions and thoughts, now I am dealing with the spirit and the combination of the three has been awesome. My health has improved and have an absolute belief and feeling that it will continue to do so. I believe the spirit has no gender or race, therefore we are not seperate. Peace.

  • I am happy our way's and Tradition's are still practiced.. Actually Traditionally.... with Tribal people's i have spent yr's with n my teaching's ... there was and is no 'God' there is no 'Heaven and 'Hell' but a spirit world.. we hold all as one respect all... if there is a 'God' he is everything not 1 being... i cringe when i see and hear the white man's book's word's used.. for it is not our way's...

  • The bible was written not just by humans, but by God himself. God inspired the various Bibical authors to write what they did. Since the bible was written by God, it's perfect-the teachings & ideas it contains r Gods own & are completely trustworthy. The bibles purpose is to show us how we personally can find God. The entire bible-from the history parts to the amazing eyewitness accts of Jesus' life-tells the story of God's love 4 us & how we can come to know God personally through Jesus.

  • @1desjarlais Sorry, can't agree with you here. While I believe there is truth in the Bible, and God's word is truth, it is also filled with man's version of God. The OT in particular, paints a God of wrath, anger, retribution, and showing favoritism to a particular race and creed(Jews). My conscious(spirit) cannot and will not accept this. Who said the Jews were God's chosen, the Jews! We are all God's chosen.

  • @1desjarlais your bible is man made and based in dominion... which pits humanity against itself and more importantly Nature. Jesus may be cool....bible and its religions = pure conflict and .control ... evil detrimental war mongering decisive garbage. the cause of more genocides than all else.....did you get it? shoved down the throats of indigenous peoples and many others ...foist upon them for 2000 years of tragedy. keep it to yourself...but you cannot.

  • @bathetcnow, true "spirituality" is 2 recognize that Jesus is the Son of God; 2 recognize that He took our place on the cross; 2 recognize He carried our sins upon Himself. The master deceiver, Satan, hates for 1st Nations ppl 2 see this wonderful way of salvation. He will do all he can 2 make ppl reject it. Jesus said 2 him, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, & THE LIFE: NO ON COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME." "FOR THERE IS ONE GOD & ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD & MEN, THE MAN JESUS CHRIST."

  • @1desjarlais Ever read "The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold"?

  • @1desjarlais Salvation? seriously? You're so called salvation was the cause of the greatest human atrocities in the entire history of mankind. Hitler (also a christian) was practically a saint to the jews compared to what you christians did to the First Nations. You make me sick

  • Defense against genocide, that Americans are a victim of, would be helpful here.

Who is conducting the genocide and why?

What's the use of being healed, but than getting killed?

I would sincerely hope, that Americans would convert white and black people, and yellow also, instead of the other way around.

  • i am fullblood native my name is ceramony and i am not going to tell you my native ways or to anyone cause it is not for you to know but all men should smoke tobacco and there hate will go away

  • 2 Thumbs up!

  • This Man is Very Wise And Has an Open Ear. He is not through learning and seeking new understanding and so should we all. and Nature points to a Creator, God

Native Americans are close to God and fascinating people

comments about The Bible -it's not from "the white man"- it is from the middle east - some hypocrites in all cultures - for an interesting series to watch see some amazing Scientific Discoveries on UVIDEOSU channel

  • very nice comment The Indians (native americans) are very close to nature and in touch with what is important in Life. We can learn a lot from them especially in about how to act respectfully to one another.

  • This is Mourning Dove, member of the Stockbridge Munsee, band of Mohican reservation in Bowler Wisconsin. We are very spiritual. Our elders were forsed into Missionary schools, where they were stripped of there beliefs and robbed of their native language.

  • I am Mourning Dove, member of the Stockbridge-Munsee-band of Mohicans. Have u ever known of the missionary schools. That is were the Native Americans where stripped of there beliefs. Also were stripped of there language. Ask an Elder Native once.

  • @130kali

God made all of creation and all peoples. When I observe creation, I see His handiwork. So as one sits and listens, recognizing that it is His creation, we hear His voice. It says in Psalms, His voice thunders, His hand extends like lightning. His has written messages in the stars that point to the Savior. I acknowledge the Lord in His artistry and thank Him for it frequently. I so appreciate Native thought as well--what a gift of wisdom our precious Lord has given you!

  • @mariemore1 I wish all people in this world would think that way! I think the Native American Indians are the smartest in this area! What a peaceful life we all would live!

  • I love listening to my father speak. I wish that I did not live so far away and paid more attention growing up. I had to travel so far to find myself and I really only needed to listen as I was growing up. He is such a good orator and has much to offer to all. Every day is Thanksgiving So THINK and use a good mind.

  • Hey how do you spell the term he used for "The live force that connects all of us" at 3:35? Anybody wanna share?

  • a:ronta aw-loon-da

  • Professor Tarbell is the man. One of the coolest and most interesting teachers on that campus. He has ideas and viewpoints in lecture that no other staff can come close to. I'm very glad I took his class, I miss it! I want a strawberry drink!

  • @xmikeyxex never met him, but he is one wise man! i enjoy his words more than any others i have heard.

  • I took Mike Tarbell's Intro to Iroquois class at SUNY Cobleskill too, he was very insightful and full of knowledge. It was very cool after Western civilization to learn about the awesome civilizations that were carrying on right here . . . the museum is definitely worth a trip too!

  • I took a class with Rohrhalre, it was great and this video reminded me of all the information I learned. He made me want to have the heart of an indian and encouraged me to continue my Native American studies! Thanks Mr. Tarbell!
