@Ferior My friend, it depends on how you see it; obviously Mexico is IN North America but it is considered part of Latin America. Also, Mexicans tend to think of themselves as ´american´ because they consider anyone from north or south america to be ´american.´ Of course NAFTA includes Mexico so that is another point there. It just depends on how you are looking at it; geographically, by religion, by ethnic heritage, by language etc.

Actually, not just Mexico, but Greenland and all central and Caribbean countries are part of North America. Whoever made that map is just grouping Canada and the US together, even though geographically speaking, most of Canada is either occupied by French speakers or Aboriginals, which demographically should group it is "Latin America" if you're going to define the North as "English-speaking gringos".
