Sorry your wrong dude they had Tyson Chandler, David West Peja Stojakovic, Janero Pargo, Bonzi Wells good enough to win. Parker is simply pound for pound better. Especially now that CP has gone under the knife. And by the way then why did your team take our leftovers (Mason).I'll tell you a secret... He'll disappear in the playoffs. Good luck with your run and gun with D'antoni. Defense wins championships. We have 4 and gunning for 5. Under the radar just the way we like it.
@twinkiefoot Tony Parker not as good as CP3? Let me refresh your memory. Playoffs, the two in an epic battle, Parker drains the deciding bucket over yours truly CP3 and sends the Spurs to the next level. He had a damn good supporting cast as Tony did. What happened? Tony is a winner that's what happened. 3 Rings and oh yeah a finals MVP baby! And he aint done yet that's why I want value for him. One Trick pony my ass. If that's the case then why did Amare want Tony in the off season?
@fotoflik Roger Mason Jr., a former Spur, also hit a few buzzer beaters. Does that automatically makes him better than whoever is guarding him? No. That's because that type of reasoning is asisine. One shot doesn't determine if a player is better than another. Chris Paul's work in the NBA is far more impressive than Tony Parker, who has had the luxury of a HOF coach, all-time great in Tim Duncan and all-star in Manu Ginobli. Paul's best player has been David West....'nuff said.
@fotoflik And Parker is a one-trick pony. You've yet to articulate what he does offensively other than break defenses down (which he is one of the best in the league at doing). He's a terrible to mediocre jump shooter; a similarly terrible free throw shooter, mediocre defender and mediocre passer albeit a good distributor. He's a good player but is more a product of the Spurs system and their excellent players. Chris Paul on the other hand, is the league's best PG and has no shortcomings.
First get a 2 to guard Wade. Second the numbers really don't add up anyway. Parkers contract is too big we may be shit out of luck on that. Just saying if there was 3 to 4 way trade we could end up with something of value instead of losing Parker all together.Third how you going to pry CP3 from hornet land. It's like trading Tim Duncan in his prime. Franchise suicide. They wont do it. They need to put people in the their arena. Lastly CP3 is damaged goods. Good luck.
@fotoflik I'm not saying Tony should guard Wade. I'm saying Wade would shut him down, especially with the extra energy he'll have not having to score 30ppg for his team to win. On a different note, Parker is not likely to make more than what his contract currently pays him ($13.5 million per season). He's 28 years old and his speed advantage (his greatest asset) certainly isn't going to be around for much longer. George Hill is the heir apparent at PG for them now; Parker expendable.
@fotoflik Why would you make that trade knowing that Parker will be a free agent in the offseason and knowing that Carmelo Anthony is still available?
@twinkiefoot If it looks like Parker may not stick around then we need to sign and trade him now thats the gamble the FO is struggling with. If so I figure to a team that he is willing to go to such as NY and get Gallinari and Chandler. But what scares me is that Denver will cave in to Melo's wishes and send him to NY for those guys. That would suck. Maybe there could be a 3 way trade involving Spurs, Denver, & Ny.
Melo goes to NY, Parker to NY, Chandler to Denver, and Gallinari to San Antonio.
@fotoflik I'd have to be blunt and ask you what would be the point in all of this? Even if we were to land Carmelo Anthony, Tony Parker would not allow us to legitimately compete with the Heat. Sometimes, more is less and less is more but Tony Parker is something of a one-trick pony- you stop his penetration and there is nothing left of his game. Dwayne Wade could successfully do that. Beyond that, Parker is a mediocre passing PG and a poor fit in D'Antoni's system.
@twinkiefoot getting something at this point is better than getting nothing at the end of the season. And Gallinari is no chop liver. Athletic sharp shooter big we could use him. We have plenty of guards. If that were to go down McDyess is out, they would probably include him in the package.
@fotoflik I wouldn't mind signing Tony Parker as a free agent, assuming we already had Carmelo Anthony locked into a contract but I certainly would not surrender assets for Parker especially with Chris Paul available. The Hornets look terrible and I can't imagine him sticking around for much longer. I would put all my chips into trading for CP3 because if we get him, the Nets lose leverage in convincing Melo that they can surround him with talent which forces the Nuggets hand to send him to NYK.
@fotoflik I'd do something like Felton, Douglas, Randolph, Turiaf, $3 million and draft picks (which we could buy from a team like the Lakers) for Chris Paul. Contracts match perfectly and the value of the package is similar to the reported deal that nearly took place with Portland involving Andre Miller, Nicolas Batum, Jarryd Bayless, Joel Pryzbilla, cash and picks. We could then lowball the Nuggets for Melo with Gallo, Curry, a $3 million trade exception and our own picks in 2014 and 2016.
What makes him a potential all star is he's versality. He's not just a spot shooter, he can shoot off defense, he can hit off balance shots (like Nowitsky), he has good hands, he can drive and attack the basket, he has size and strengh. Some more seasons and he may become one of the top scorers in the league. I like he's game very much.
@Nostalgia98 gallinari is a decnet player....i still believe they shouldve taken jeryd bayless or javale mcgee tho...the two have more talent and when given playing time they produce just as well as he does
what song by gang starr? and Nate is as good of a shooter as him, possibly better. The whole team looks awful this preseason. They better pick it up. And Gallo is better in almost every aspect of the game compared to Harrington and Chandler. Gallo needs to be more aggressive and Harrington needs to do the exact opposite.
He's gonna score this season, I'm hoping for something around 15ppg 5rpg and 2apg. The biggest question is his defense, he got burned last season when he was playing the 3. Hopefully that was because of his back injury.
YES...not Dirk though. And his defense is better than Hedo's. Gallo's basketball iq is really up there. Always in position on defense, great court vision and passing ability, he's a playmaker, can break down the defense, and if he shoots like he did last year he can be potentially the best offensive player on the team unless Nate shows more consistency.
he obviously was less than 100% last year. even so, he showed a great shooting touch, along with good passing ability and ball-handling for a 6-10 guy
as far as minutes go, the healthier he gets, the more minutes he'll get and then we'll see just what the Knicks have here
I like it! he seems like one of those players that need alot of minutes to really show what he's got. him coming off the bench in a limited roll doesn't seem to fit him much.

man he sucks.. Im sorry, people just can't say he's young etc. etc. how bout the other drafties? like gordon,augustin,lopez,randolph.. they're playing better than ganilo... I hated the stupid italian connection excuse(danilo&dantoni) deandre jordan is better.. 1 time I saw his stats 12pts 23rebs 6blk in a game... they need freakin center.. not a bust draftie... I wish danilo can make 20pts once.... I felt bad for my team
are you serious? nobody's making the young excuse, there are real reasons why he isnt outperforming rookies he's significantly better than.
he was injured for the summer and half the season.
he hasnt gotten acclimated to the american style of play
he's tring to make the transition from star to fringe rotation player (a situation he's in only because in mike D's tight rotation the vets get priority)
Danilo, like all international players that comes in NBA, needs not a month, not a season, but 3 seasons to feel comfortable in NBA. See what is doing Bargnani in his third season, Calderon since last year, but also Nowitzki had to play many years in NBA before he become a star. He's a great player. Gordon, augustin, lopez, randolph don't have the skills of Danilo. The best player of this draft will become in the future Rose for me, but Danilo is the second. Didn't you see the match of tonight?
