You need to have a general reference of the book of Revelation to truly understand some of the concepts brought up in this book. End times prophecies, believe them or not, are being fulfilled at a record pace....sort of like this movie, though hollywood, in usual fashion, has stripped any spiritual framework from this movie and has reduced it to a scientific end of the world. Good quality movie...loved it!

i didn't get the ending too at first but then i understood. the two kids were chosen and when the earth destroyed they put them in another world to start life again like Adam and Eva. thats why they are running towards a tree with apples.

I think they'd like us to come to our own conclusion, but I certainly gathered that yes, they would begin anew... a new world. As for their parents, their bodies expired but their soul is immortal, and thats why the exchange at the end "This isn't the end"... "yes, I know that now". This of course infers that we'll all be with each other again, both between lives and playing different roles in a life. Yes, reincarnation. It's a more common belief than Christianity.

I liked the movie, but the biggest flop was: You can't continue life on earth with only 2 people. Do they expect their kids to mate with each other? You would need at least 2 sets of couples to continue life. It's ashamed they couldn't get all the facts for this movie. Could of made it a 5 star.

Hey, at the end of the movie did you notice there were numerous spaceships leaving earth at the same time? They had 2 children inside with 2 animals as well. That's why at the last scene where they dropped the 2 kids off, there were other spaceships dropping their kids off too. Not just the two main kids. LOTS lol

There were more than 2 kids. Remember seeing others land when the 2 of them ran towards the tree? We also saw them leave the Earth from all different places when they did. Also, I think it's safe to assume the others brought different animals other than rabbits.

And, no, as kids wouldn't mate with each other. They'd mate when they got older. The fact that the two got along from the beginning foreshadows this.

Spoiler!!! it was sad wen he died but he died with his family. He knew his son was safe and thats all he cared about. he did end up believing in God and heaven. He felt he was going back 2 his wife and his son would follow after many happy years with his own kids. Good story. I am kinda scared of 2012(suppose 2 be the day the world will end), but i believe in God 100% so that keeps me through! Good movie, really gets u thinkin'
