i have the 1000ha and its great 2 mics but i am having trouble with the layout on linux ubuntu netbook remix 9.10 when i push the u key it displays 4 on the screen and this only happened after i started using my fellowes usb wireless keyboard and i cant figure out how to fix it still love my netbook though
I just bought a refurbished 1000HEB, and I am really grateful that you showed how to upgrade the memory and hard drive. These netbooks are very cool and useful. I bought my husband a new Asus EePC, and I liked it so well that I wanted one for myself as well.
No not refurbished. It works great. Not for gaming or video editing but for email, music and surfing the web is great. My customer is still using it since it came out without problems.
True it's a great little thing. Don't expect too much from it but what you get is still very good. It's capable of running gta san andreas on low settings to give you a general idea. It won't play hd videos smoothly. Good sound too as good as a normal sized laptop
No HD but what about FLV such as youtube videos or Divx rips?
My intention is to use one primarily for FLV music videos downloaded off youtube. Some are HD but since they're FLV, I would think it could run them no problem....
No, Thank you for your comment. I'm glad it helped out.
Actually yes you can. I saw at compusa SSD drives that look just like a notebook drive with a SATA connection it fits just like the regular drive. Best of luck.
Thanks for the comment. I personally like the Asus Eeep900HD. I will be putting out a video on that one soon. I got that one for $249, and it is so so so so portable.
Yes at first I was not sure but after trying it out for a long period of time the keyboard is really nice and almost full size. Thanks for your input.
Honestly if you are going to be around town all day and you need to check e-mail, write some documents, chat, and surf the web then a netbook for me is great. They are small and easy to carry around all day. Not to mention they are relatively cheap and if it gets stolen or lost the price won't break your wallet if you have to get another. I have both the laptop and netbook. I take the one I need the most that day. Best of luck.
Nice companion For picture taking :>

Cool, I'm glad you where able to get them. They are really nice and the chiclet keyboard reminds me of the keyboard on my mac.
I do love that you can upgrade all the main components easily. This is one thing I always look for on a device. Best of luck.

was this a refurb?
Almost every netbook I see available is a refurb which means people are returning these things by the HUNDREDS if not thousands.
Could it be they crap out or, people are expecting full blown PC and things like the lack of a DVD drive result in the returns.....

Depends on their video quality, you'll have to try one out I'm afraid, all I can say is that it plays most of the videos really well.

Refurbished basically means that something was wrong with them and it was fixed and now is being resold.
