You have to have the fastest reflexes, to play this game; it took me weeks to beat it, playing several hours every day.

Also, are you using some sort of cheat or hack? I don't recall Mario jumping almost a full screen in height, without the trampoline.

The "Lost Levels" are the original "Super mario Bros. 2". The game, in its original form, never left Japan, because Nintendo thought it was too hard for western audience. Instead they took the game "Doki Doki Panic" and replaced the original characters with Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach and sold it as "Mario Bros. 2" in America and Europe.

It's called Lost Levels, so we wouldn't confuse the real SMB2 with the western SMB2. That's what I think, at least.

What causes the occasional sound stutters? Is it not bad video editing due to cut out parts - to hide savestate use?

Might be an emulator issue - its not savestate use, as those games are recorded via input-recording - so there is no cutting needed :)

@cubex55 It seemed like a savestate. I even looked at the timer to see if there are any inconsistencies when the stutter happens. What caused it? Both 9x and zsnes emulated perfectly for me. Well I could look deeper into this, but hey, how important is it =D ? Thank you for the response either way. I did not, actually, expect one on this channel. While at it, my thanks to the team who creates, uploads, and maintains these longplays! There are too many games to play them all by myself nowadays.

@cubex55 It's an issue caused by zsnes : try to use another emulator, like snes9x, or bsnes, or even snesGT. Maybe it'll be better.

That is the Poison Mushroom (in the original Famicom Disk System version, the mushroom had black spots on it instead of red or green spots). You'll be dead if you obtain it when small, or you will shrink to small if you are Super or Fiery Mario/Luigi.

Fucking love All-Stars. I probably would have loved it even more if they didn't get lazy with the sounds/music samples; borrowing them from Super Mario World, and used original sound effects and music samples. That's just my opinion though~

This game is the REAL SMB2 with SMB3 spirtes, its an amazing game, but can be Mario heaven or hell, some of the most difficult mario levels known, strange enemy placement, and (This ones a keeper) REVERSE WARP ZONES! You fight all the way to level 8, fall into a warp zone and forces you the go BACK to world 5! THANK YOU AND &*%$ you Nintendo for letting us scar ourselfs with this game! But is is a great game if you love a challenge like me, just dont throw the controller.

Both times he got shrunk were in castles where the toads come out of the bag really small. Somehow, I don't think that was a coincidence, and I strongly suspect showing off the "backwards" warp pipe as part of the game was the only reason he died there.

Also, I wonder if, when playing this game blind, you get a bit after world 9 and start to wonder, in all seriousness, if it's REALLY going to go through all 26 letters on the alphabet before the end!

Nintendo made mario, so will only appear on nintendo consoles as long as nintendo still makes consoles. Mario sells and they wouldnt want to make a mario game for anything but its own console.
