Olds coined the his and hers shifter for advertising proposes. It is a Dual Gate shifter made by Hurst, allows you to manually shift the gears without fear of going past D into neutral . He does know a little bit LOL... 370hp maybe gross rating. Net hp as advertised was 270 and 300 for the W30 in 72' , mind you not rear wheel hp, maybe close to 370 gross hp at the flywheel without accessories. The letter in the vin will tell if this was a real 455 car
This guy does not know what a Hurst/ Olds was. Hurst did nothing but graphics on this model, Olds did all of the performance work on this fine Musclecar...
Dick head! There was not a 442 for 1972, it was a option on the Cutlass/Cutlass Supreme conv. not the coupe. This is a hardtop/coupe fuck face. There was not a 442 optioned Cutlass Supreme coupe. All the options that made a 442 were available for the Hurst Olds including the Olds built W30 455 Rocket. This is a Hurst/Olds not a fucking 442. So don't call it a 442 pussy.
@thepinkblob you sir, are a fuck tard..i own a 1970 cutlass supreme HARDTOP...there is a big difference between a hardtop and a coupe dumbshit and yes, in fact there were 442 options for the holiday hardtop, you stupid fuck..i pity your poor, mildly retarded soul....P.S. Yes your correct on it being a hurst and not 442
Probably not like much considering what GM has been doing to their cars since the late '80's. Maybe the'10 442 would look something like an Olds Alero with some paint upgrades, as I said , not much...
your right it would look sick as fuck, and i would want the one so bad i might have to go in debt, but we know thats not the case, a 2010 w-30 edition with the zr-1 supercharged 6.2, omg
You do not know all the history. It's not off a 442 body it's a Cutlass Supreme 4257/67 body. Oldsmobile offered the Hurst Dual Gate shifter on the 442, not limited to the Hurst Olds. The engines were all Oldsmobile in 72 Hurst did nothing to them. The W30 455 w/aluminum intake was offered for the H/O. The only think Hurst did was the sun roof, paint and graphics. Get your facts straight.
Get youre facts strait dumb ass, the 442 was absolutely available in the supreme body in a convertible you ain't as smart as you think, mabey you should try google next time
My buddy had one beat the crap out of it bought it for 2 k sold it for 4.Power would pin your head to the headrest. Cool gold stripes glow at night I'd love one.
Nice. I had one in '74-'75. Mine didn't have the sunroof nor the Indy emblem, but it did have the W30 option. Thx for posting this up. It brought back great memories.
I have always loved this car, It is essentially the badestassed Cutlass Supreme.
my mom's daily driver was a '72 CS with the same body and a 350 rocket and single exhaust. I miss that car.
by the way they made two hurst vista cruisers that year too!

I don't wish to hurt anybody's feelings. ... However ...
This Video is damn painful to watch .... They spend 25% of the video talking about " The fabulous His and Her (HURST) SHIFTER" and NEVER show it.
For the sweet love of god, guns and gasoline SHOW THE SHIFTER ..!
