It's not an "Armenian Song, and nobody's saying that. It was from an Armenian-written stage play aimed at an Ottoman audience, and written in Turkish. Turks weren't doing that sort of western-style public performance, especially women.
The man makes a good point - at that time, there was no national claim. I'm not sure if there is an Armenian version; Istanbul Armenians mostly sang in Turkish anyway as they were and still are quite integrated in Turkish society.
@JimmyTheGreek2000 no it wasn't written by Armenians. But by a scottish millitary composer who was in Istanbul and wanted to make a song for the Sultan. It became very popular in Turkey and later the whole balkans... do Armenians even sing this song haha?
