hey how did you manage to plan all this out for suck a long bike trip and how muck has it cost you im looking to do a bike tour this summer and i was just wondering how much you spent and everything .........PLEASE WRITE BACK THANKS
I'm not so sure if checking-in a boxed-up bike as normal luggage is such a great idea. Many airlines will treat it as just another piece of luggage and stack heavy siutcases on top of it, resulting in damage (this happened to me!). In contrast, if you check in a full-sized bike, they handle it more carefully.
The bike I'm using on this trip is a Bike Friday "New World Tourist". I used it on a recent trip to Aruba and it was great. I've also been riding it a lot in my home town of Park City, Utah - simply for running errands and riding to work, etc.
On my trip to Aruba I packed the bicycle in Bike Friday's official suitcase/trailer, but I didn't want to pull the trailer around Europe with me on this trip, so I packed the bike in a cardboard box instead.

What brand is your bike? I didn't hear what the name is. Be safe on your trip.
