Thanks for sharing this beautiful version, I've never heard it before. Must have been rebelling against society at the time and only listening and/or watching any of Larry Parnes' boys! :-))
Mike my good friend, thanks for sharing this melody of remembrance, certainly very famous too, made me remember my mother because she liked to sing it.
Thank you for your friendship, I wish for you a final on Sunday at the peace of your home.
Petula Clark enjoyed an enormous international hit with this single. She followed it up with a similar song and arrangement, "My Heart." Jodie Sands benefitted greatly from Dick Clark's belief in her talent, beauty and potential. Had she been signed to a major label she would assuredly have a whole string of major hits.
NO MENTION OF THE LOVELY MARION RYAN ,IT WAS A BIG HIT FOR HER .
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HER VERSION ? IT WAS HIGH IN THE CHARTS HERE IN THE U.K ,SO THERE MUST BE OTHERS OUT THERE ,SHE WAS THE MOTHER OF THE GREAT PAUL & BARRY RYAN TWINS ,REMEMBER ELOISE ? NO 1 SINGLE ,[WELSHIE 29]
This song brings me back to a place in time, How nice it is to hear this old song again, Very nice, Thank you My friend for sharing this beauty with me ,it is amazing, Amazing how time fly's by, Blessing and love from Joy.
Beautiful song- typical of the 50's which I love, although I barely remember Jodie Sands but am really so grateful to you for uploading it. Of course, I'd click "like".
@sessnazx - and thanks to you, Mike, for leading me to this with your kind message! I added this to my 1958 playlist. My channel offers 111 playlists for every year since 1900 that will take you back in time for at least 2 hours on most of them. 350 artists, representing 25 countries, each have similar playlists.
It's a worldwide archive of over a century of pop music!
Maybe you hear it before from The Four Esquires (1957) US n°25; Eydie Gorme (1957)US n° 24, and a "juke-box" popcorn-oldie from Paula Watson . All this versions on you-tube.
@SirBasildeBrush Eydie Gorme sang this and also The 4 Esquires. I love this version by Jodie Sands. Such a beautiful song that sounds great by all 3 of these artists.
@SirBasildeBrush I am so happy you found them. Some songs are so beautiful that they sound great by every artist who sings it. A perfect example is the Theme From A Summer Place.
@meehall121 It is so nice of you to share this beautiful video to me. I like this song a lot which I never heard before. Nice posting...

Really beautiful song! Heard it before, but can't think who by. Reminds me of Dodie Stevens' 'Trade Winds'.
SirBasildeBrush 3 years ago
Indeed, but I think that Jodie Sands voice is more "completer". (see also "With all my heart" my prefered song of her).
What you think ?
Achel41 3 years ago
Yes, she has a more mature and stronger voice than Dodie Stevens.
Both the songs you mention are very nice, and quite similar - even set in the same key. I think I slightly prefer this one, though.
SirBasildeBrush 3 years ago
