junya74......every southern rapper...you sound like a damned fool. The rap game in itself with the exception of 2 or 3 cats is what you should have said.
This is what I can't stand about black people. Two types in particular, the ignorant of their ways type like CJ, and the ones who need the approval of white people like Sgt. Waters. Black people are quick to tear down other black people while simultaneously trying to appease white people. Allen West, and Herman Cain are perfect examples of this. Instead of educating and helping other black people get where they are, they blame black people for not being like like them.
@alienkid Today, many blacks feel they are at the bottom of America's social ladder. Reminded every time they watch TV, go out in public, go to school, shopping. What is "positive" is normally depicted with White Americans. What is negative, features more people that resemble themselves. Consequently many feel they have no defined sense of purpose. Many (not all) blacks loathe other blacks who "rise up" and positively take life by the horns. Reminds them that they failed in their life
@alienkid Cain is not trying to tear down anyone. Hell he speaks the truth, if Bill Cosby can then why can't he? People like you are tearing the "black community" down. You catch feelings when black men speak on truth regarding their fellow black man.
@fdsaks That is some truly misguided nonsense. Herman Cain didn't speak any truth. He said that black people who vote democrat are brainwashed, not because black people are actually brainwashed, but because he wanted to score points with the same white establishment who's only priority is to make President Obama a one term president. Cain is a real life version of Uncle Ruckus. Bill Cosby has launched many black careers and his message is for black people to do better.
Sergeant Waters was no better than C.J. He was a "yah suh, boss" himself. However, Sarge hated C.J because he was C.J was a mere image of himself. I understand somewhat what Sarge was saying, You don't have to figh so hard to be liked. He just went about it the wrong way. He really crosses the line and it drove C.J to suicide.
I watch this and think of every southern rapper on the video and radio screen today. I think of Flavor Flav's reality show, I think of every black athelete that the Status quo media parades in front of the television cameras as examples of what it is to be black in America. But all you have to do is flip thru the pages of Black enterprise magazine and you see the pages abound with Black Ceo's of Fortune 100 companies black scientists and intellectuals. The day of the Geechie been gone
sareg was extreme but had some valid points i dont agree with his methods of handling it but the shiftless southern backwards menatlity still exists today. Just listen to the music whic comes from the south....
@ttit91 Geechee is another word for Gullah, distinctive people from the Lowcountry of my home state, South Carolina, and the coast of Georgia as well. It is derived from the Ogeechee River near Savannah. Gullah is derivative of Angola, hence the similarity of those two names. Apparently here, in this clip, it's meant to be as offensive as the word "nigger".
@fatdaddyb28 I've never known geechie to be used in a non-offensive term... now... the Angola derivative thing, I've never heard. that's interesting... the one thing I'd ask you is how, then did they come to the NC/SC/ GA area, when angola was run by the Portuguese and the vast majority of angolan slaves ended up in Brazil...

@askido351 I did not think anyone would get that. On top of that every man is responsible for his own actions. We are the only group of people who try to dictate the actions of the whole race. White people allowed themselves to experience everything from the beverly hillbillies to schindlers list. We in turn feel that we should be monolithic. C.J's life was true to who he was.
"Oh , there used to be a time when we'd see someone like you singin..clowin..."yeahsir bossin" and we didn't do anything....Folks liked that...you were good!...homey kinda nigga..."
Not suprising at all that some white folk are turning the mindful discussion of a great movie into a mindless and disgusting slurs. Sad thing is , people with such disgusting behavior think they're better human beings than others. Shame on you.
@askido351 the sad truth is I am a black man with white friends and some of these racists rats are just making some good white people look bad. God will handle them though.
@askido351 Its both. regardless of how sarge did it, he did have one valid point and that was we as a people have to raise our self respect and it was hard / still is hard to do to demand our dignity, when too many of us refuse to act with any. but in CJ's defense, you can't blame a crippled man for not being able to walk. He didn't know any better and instead of educating him, sarge killed him. fast forwar to today, we still struggle with that with our so called entertainer's and rap artisit.
