The ME 262 pilot accounts say that it is/was very stiff on the controls (no power assist) and this added to the aircraft's mediocre maneuverability. However, the 262 was wicked fast, and very heavily armed. The trick for the allied fighters was to keep this thing, with it's speed and punch, from knocking the hell out of the bombers...
