  • wow! this performance really reminded me of his younger days...

  • what a loss!!! my eyes seriously welled up when this came on...

  • This song....is...soothing...yeah that's the word!Soothing! You hear it and you feel peaceful and calm...nice and cozy inside!

    "There's people living now

who aint got no heart and ain't never had none"

  • I agree.

  • This was one of the best episodes of Jools that I've seen. Watching him, Tracy Chapman, Warren Zevon, and Angie Stone all on the same set.. just brilliant.

  • because your sound quality its amazing, and "Tony Adams", on this show, its my favourite song from Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros

  • sorry, n,o they did this London calling and i fought the law. does any one know where to find the i fought the law clip with warren zevon because thats brilliant?

  • hey men, do you have "Tony Adams" of the same show?

  • theres people livin now who aint got no heart and they never had one. i love joe strummer so much. this is best post clash song

  • Beautiful sound quality. Thanks much.

  • man, this is fucking incredible!

this song contains some of my favorite lyrics of all time...

    "i wanna live,

and i wanna dance a while"

  • I love that line too, but it always makes me sad to think Joe S. isn't around to sing it anymore. What a fantastic talent the man had, right up to the end. "Get Down Moses" is one of my all-time favorites, and his version of "Redemption Song" is incredible.

  • Joe's wrong. A be-bop gun is the best for a hold up.

  • Yeah man! this is gold

  • Joe Strummer truly was a musical genius. I love everything he did musically.

  • God damn! It's even better live.. never heard X-Ray Style played by 'em.

Wish I could've seen him play at least once.

  • most people like simplistic pop garbage. Punk, Oi, Ska, Psychobilly, Swing, it's all either too complex or not pop enough to be huge. Pop music isn't music thats good, it's just music that doesn't turn off the most people, doesn't offend anyone or have any real meaning. This stuff is too good to ever be truely popular

  • i totally agree you hit the nail on the head mate

  • Fucking great!

  • I miss the old bastard.

  • I am simply amazed at all the styles and influences Strummer was able to pull off. Everything he did -- punk and hard rock, reggae, folkish stuff, ska, world beat, celtic riffs -- he did beautifully. I think one reason the Mescaleros didn't have more of a commercial impact is that this music is just impossible to categorize. Anyway, great post, and thanks!

  • It wasnt well recieved because its to advanced for the masses.

  • Yeah, it really was a great album. And i love this performance. RIP Joe.

  • I'm flabbergasted that "Rock Art and the X-Ray Style" wasn't well received.
