This came out a long time ago, but I once saw her on an advertisement for a scooter after it was known that she had multiple sclerosis. She still looked wonderful, m.s. and all. She was a real role model to many girls in the '50's, myself included.
One would think that the Disney Company would at least be kind enough to release her films on DVD, such as: the Monkey's Uncle, Escapade in Florence, and the Horsemasters. Disney can release on DVD a terrible movie like Condorman, but Annette's films remain locked in the Disney vault. Does the Disney Company have something against Annette?
I'm surprised she's still alive with that one sickness; multiple sclerosis. I believe her last movie was Back to the Beach with her beach partner, Frankie Avalon. But as for her last TV appearance, I don't know when or where Annette's last appearance on TV was. As she is a legend with Disney and in Hollywood with them 60s drive-in beach movies, she was a good role model and one children of the 50s and 60s looked up to.
Both Annette and Shirley Temple refused to lower their standards to play the roles of decadent or degenerate women. KUDOS to both of these fine ladies and role models. Too bad there are not more like this TODAY!!!
This really made my day to come across this video. I Loved Annette...who didn't! I know Virginia Graham comes through as 'pushy' on this clip, but I really liked her too...very funny lady! Not really familiar with the other pretty lady..
fat broad in the middle did not let her finish but Annette was saying Walt Disney told her to keep her name Funicello and to pronounce it the Italian way.
It's a shame she never loosened up enough to play some really low character. It would have been fun to watch. But she never wanted to be a real actress so there you go.
The program was called ATTITUDES and, I believe, was a syndicated daily show. Virginia Graham was not a regular on the show, only guest co-hosting this particular day. Hope this helps.
THANK YOU for posting this great interview with ANNETTE - I actually don't think I've seen this particular show before and I collect everything on her, so thank you for this rare glimpse. It took about 3 years after this for her movie, BACK TO THE BEACH to see the light of day - and then of course, ANNETTE started to have symptoms of MS - thanks again - ANNETTE is one of a kind.
Thank you also . This is a great interview of annette that brings back alot of memories of her Mickey Mouse Club days .She was real gem all through her life.

It's a shame she didn't say "Walkin and Talkin" when talking about raising her kids, as then she would of quoted one of her songs.

It is so sad that MS took this wonderful woman away from us. She was indeed a very talented individual.

This had to have been around 87 or 88, that's when "Back To The Beach" that reunion movie with Frankie Avalon came out.
