@Nathalian989 Tina turner never appeared on any of the Sleep Dirt album..she actually sang backing with the Ikettes on some tracks on the album Apostrophe, Sleep Dirt was recorded mostly at Caribou Studios Colorado) and the Record Plant (LA). FZ recorded Apostrophe at Electric Lady, NYC. Paramount, Hollywood, and Bolic Studios (Inglewood) which belonged to Ike Turner, it was a spur of the moment thing..
@Arckitekt first off Ruth was not the only female to be in Zappa's group there was Sophia Warren who played with him in the early 80's, and you can't forget about Dale Bozzio. Plus Tina Turner was never on sleep dirt you are an ass- clwon if you think that.
@vaborek Not strictly correct, firstly Sophia Warren was a nickname Frank gave to Warren Cucurullo, secondly Tina Turner (& The Ikettes) sang backing vocals for Over-Nite Sensation and Apostrophe albums..Hope this clears up a few errors..
dude! my dad was there that night! OMG..frank asked the crowd if anyone knew where palmdale was...and you can hear my dad say "YEAH" twice...lol..who has Village of the sun, from the Live @ the roxy night?
At Avery Fisher Hall, NYC '73, Frank stopped Inca Roads twice because Ruth played wrong notes. His exact words "Do you want these people to think that those are the notes I wrote". Classic hilarious stage biz. Ruth insisted the tempo was too fast so he let her count it off the third time. Ahh, what memories!
Holy shit,a version as good or better then roxy!

Cool guitar solo in the middle of this clip. Typical "freak out" style. Love it.
