  • It's good for a couple of seconds, but it is a bit boring after a while. Had to skip forward to enjoy new groove again.

  • that sax player got it

  • what is he playing from 4:07 to 4:09? what scale is that

  • @Sax121Man

he takes it up a semitone then some chromatic stuff from there, don't think it's a particular

scale that he has in mind... work it out.

  • @Sax121Man yeah, no particular scale hes using there. i wish it was that easy, haha

  • Sam Kinninger for president of the world.

  • It was great seein those cats layin it down with Sam again last week at Highline Ballroom. captivating...

  • =(

someday yes i will play like dat....

  • same here. i just started 3 months ago.=)

  • yall rdy 2 get down?? lol

  • That sax groove is legendary man...

  • right on. the title should've been a dead giveaway

  • I can smell the patchoulli from here. Lovin the hippy "twitch" dance.

  • nice

  • his sound is all short and punchy like Maceo. killin'.

  • Completely the opposite. This guys sound is so pure and soft almost like the inside of an eggshell. Maceo blows much more, and therefore he gets the uniq sharp sound. Except they both play funk, these two guys are completely different.

  • Sam has got to be one of the funkiest sax players out there. Very nice!!

  • Reminded me of Kenny Garrett when he played with Miles Davis.

  • Great stuff!

  • rocking!!! nice!!! who is this guy anyhow?

  • put your hand sup put em down put em up you do the hokey pokey

  • Reminds me of " Too funky in here". By: James Brown...lol (the beginnign that is.)

  • You mean "Superbad".

  • he played in my cousins band, to see my cousin, type in brotherhood of groove

  • I would love to hear this live. :)

  • impressive. 8)

  • I am so ready to get down after listening to that

  • The drumset is amazing...the whole rhythm-group actually is...

  • Wow.

  • you rock man:D

hope to see you on tv:D

  • Imma ready to get down.

  • Amazzing i can tell that the saxophonist is very influeced by altoist cannonball adderley, his tone is pretty lush

  • his tone is FAT

  • indeed, but after listeing to some maceo parker, he seems to also have some influence of maceo in his playing--probably because maceo is a master of funk alto playing!

  • this guy is so amazing....i love listening to him play!

  • where's the bass player??? and no, sadly the left hand of the pianist can't substitute them :P :) it's missing a low end! but otherwise it's great

  • Keep on Playing Sam. I love the music.

  • Pretty rockin' clip dude. I think the keyboardist's dancing is what got me into the music lol.

  • very similar groove to Frankenstein

  • that's closer to jazz than to funk

  • Lets call it jazzfunk :):)

  • I dun think it's possible to say exactly what "genre" a piece of music is in... altho jazz and funk combined IS often referred to as Junk rofl..

  • hahahaha...junk.:)

  • we all have the "junk" inside us

  • To nO Olho da kele Lugar POhha

  • Great phrasing! Love this music.

  • bass is underbalanced =( great song though. so glad they ditched the vocalist and decided to go back to the trio

  • This vid is from 2002. Unfortunately, that means they haven't let the singer go yet. Wish they would, though. Sam Kinninger Group is awsome, too, though. Check them out if you get a chance.

  • anybody play an alto saxophone for school?

    I do

  • I do. .... so random.

  • Can any tell what type of sax hes using and mouthpiece? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • Improv at its best. Bravo!

  • sam u the man.

  • Bella improvvisaxione.. mi piace..

    complimenti!

  • Nice sax playing...great.

  • This comes from an old James Brown tune called "Super Bad"

  • This tune is called "Right On".

  • Thanks - I'll post the title.

  • aargh no bass AT ALL in the mix, makes the whole thing sound ridiculous

  • theirs bass,but u cant hear it

  • So it ain't in the mix, ya dig?
