The first thing I notice is that you don't have a focus puller. The second thing I notice is the music (and that's not a good thing). However, I don't find the image particularly unstable, for hand-held work it looks fine. The 7D seems to do a great job, if only it can be kept in focus.

@itsmontismusic when using a dslr, is not the camera that has image stabilisation, but is the lens. True, that 50mm (probably F/1.8 mk2) does not have IS, but good lens for the money (around $100).

@ajaypalsinghg You're better off just buying the 550d. You'll save yourself a lot of money. The biggest difference is that the 550D doesn't have the same autofocus system.

The sensors are slightly different.

8 fps vs 3 fps

The 7D has a better shutter.

If you don't need the fast AF and the fps and don't mind having the smaller, plastic body, then you should be fine with the 550D.

Search YouTube for some test videos from each camera. See what suits you.

@Johnsonprod Stay with FCP 7. FCP X still needs work. It's not ready for professional use. In fact you could say FCP X is a newer imovie. Well you see disliking something I've only used for 1 year is very easy. I've used Pc so much longer it's hard to cross over. In fact the expected options I had on Pc are no longer there. In this case Pc has more to offer then mac. They cost so much more and come with less features.. But alas at least I've had not had viruses. I work with all types of programs

@Johnsonprod Trust me I am awaiting that update. There are some really cool options in there but the key elements still need loads of work. For programs I'd recommend starting with FCP 7. Simple but you can also do professional things inside it. Also look into Sony Vegas for a more visual workflow.

If you look closely at 59 seconds in, you'll notice that the bright reflections that are out of focus are pentagonal, meaning that the lens has a 5 blade aperature. The 1.8 has a 5 blade aperature, whereas the 1.4 has an 8 blade aperature. If the photographer were using the 50mm 1.4, the out of focus glare would be octagonal, not pentagonal. I hope this answers your question.
