Wtf all these noobs talking about "tuned" and "modded", tuning is purely to do with the ECU (where I come from). Each GTR engine is hand built...If any modding is done, it'll probably be the exhaust and intake systems, or maybe even injectors, I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to go for the motor or the turbo set up, it'll just be counter productive. Those mods mentioned above are a small component in a car's performance and NO it doesn't give a massive advantage idiots.
I dont care what anyone says. My dream car is and will be the GT-R. My brother has the '97, I wish i could get it after him, but until then ill just have to study to make enough money to purchase one of them GT-R's. :)
The gtr is a car that is bought by bitter people who cant afford a GT3 yea theres nothing can touch them but whos driving you or the cars electronic gagetry you may as well be on the x box they dont feel special to drive like porsches and ferraris and plumeting well below 30k proves they are not special enough to hold their money this time next year the chavs will all have one the nissan gtr coming to a coucil estate near you
first off the GT-R is so well known for beating the 911 turbo i bet u he said "tuned" so that ppl wud be like "oh its obviously tuned so its gonna beat the porsche" but the only porsche that can beat it is the gt2rs the GT-R is just as fast as the GT3
you don't tune a GT-R... It's good enough as it is and to tune it is just plain stupid. the car is below 80k$ and out performs anything under $400k. You buy this car to get optimum performance and a decent interior for less.
Stock vs Stock the Turbo S PDK would win a drag race but lose on the track to the GT-R. You'd need a GT2RS to beat the GT-R on the track, but the 2012 GT-R Spec-R or the 2013 base GT-R may even beat the GT2RS.
Good job w/ the GT-R ppl just don't understand that the Porsche turbo s cost about $160,000 while the GT-R cost in the $60,000 so in this case the GT-R is the winner cuz in the end the total money put in the GT-R is still less than the
Porsche 911 Turbo S: 0-30 mph (typical for busy city streets) - 1.0 s, 0-60 mph - 2.6 seconds. The ultimate supercar for a big city, there is no car on this planet that can match this car at such speed. Even Veyron Supersport is slower.
I like german cars very much, but Porsche is so meh to me.. I wouldn't own one (unless it was free of course). I never liked jap cars but this GT-R looks good and certainly is good. But the warranty is what bothers me.
they could make a dragger that would smoke the both of them in the half price.. so what, porsche offers style and gr8 performance that can beat the gtr in stock and many more futures that you can fill only in a porsche , if you wanna buy a gtr and spend the whole bugged to make the engine faster with out thinking about consumption or anything else go do it, the girl would still go to the porsche
@asvestomixZ The one thing girls really go for is a man who thinks too much about the "bugged" and consumption... ;)
Bring a tractor you've tuned to be faster than the GT-R to 196mph for less than what it cost me to tune my GT-R. BTW, straight line speed? Least relevant factor to a GT-R's performance if you know anything...
@DavidYu2007 lol man the tractor was an extreme example to make you see that even the worst car can have performance, what did you though that i am gonna make one to prove it to you? i dont say that gtr is bad, i am just say porsche is my top choice, if you talk about consumption i bet the porsche has better consumption than your car
@asvestomixZ followed davids cars for years in performance car and evo,he loves his cars, and there always awesome..godzilla is a monster, you cant get a drag car round corners,or use it everyday..and he does with his!
@asvestomixZ The GT-R was always and will always be meant for real races. You know..with turns and braking and whatnot. Anyone can make a car go faster in straights. But not just anyone can make it faster in bends. Just take a look at track times. That is where the GT-R excels. That is what the GT-R was meant for.
@asvestomixZ Of course it would. It already did actually a number of times. As did its predecessors before it. You think they nicknamed it Godzilla for fun? The GTRs were banned from competitions or had weight penalties to keep things competitive. The GTR always was one of the fastest cars around a track.
@asvestomixZ Well of course there's a huge difference. An F1 car will beat any commercial car. But that is not a fair comparison is it? I am saying the GTR (even R32/3/4) always performed very well in competitions in their own categories. I am talking about real competitions like the GT500. The GTR was always successful in racing and that is a fact.
@RM1989m Yes it is a very successful car for sure, and quite good for its category but it would have no luck against race cars.. in fact the only thing it is same with the gtr and other cars like gt3 against their race versions is the exterior, their engines are modified to consume much smoother fuels and they are much more lightweight
@asvestomixZ I still don't understand what you mean by race cars. A race tuned GTR can beat race tuned Ferraris and Porsches in certain circuits. It won't beat an F1 car..but nothing beats an F1 car except another F1 car. The GTR however is more than capable to keep up or even beat cars that cost 2x/3x/4x as much in a circuit.
If I had the choice out of these two, I would take the Porsche, bbuuuutttt If I was given money to buy one, I would grab the GTR. Nothing competes with a GTR for the cash.
@DavidYu2007 one HUGE questions, is why not go for the Switzer p800 package, seems to be the best performance for money and it kills everything, just losing to a veyron? and its only £18,000 im sure if you can afford a £53,000 GTR you can squeeze out some more haha :P
this "race" is about getting highest topspeed at the end of the straight not comeing first out of the turn...VMax 200 Bruntingthorpe 2010 is all about topspeed at the end of the straight and there.. tata..the stock Turbo S reachend 196mph exactly the same number the 600hp tuned GT-R reached!
The fastest there are tuned 911 from 9ff, they reached 222, 210 and 207mph new overall record and new open top record... 997 FTW
even with all those modds in the datsun, the porsche still showed it where the hammer hangs,go Porsche real technology not bunch of computer game car like the datsun everything is done by a computer in it.
@kay19833 Variable vane turbo technology, PASM electronic suspension dampers, traction control, using the brakes to act as an LSD, anti-slip regulation, launch control. You're right, a computer doesn't control any of those functions. I think Porsche uses pixie dust for it. Give your head a shake. Most modern sports cars use a ridiculous amount of computers to control nearly every aspect of the car. Nissan has just been doing it longer than most.
If iI remember well, this GTR has a complete Akrapovic exhaust, a complete dynamic intake and a tuned ECU, it produces around 600hp and a massive 82mkg of torque! Comparing to 530hp and 70mkg in the Porsche! But despite this, they are equal! Impressive, but quite normal, the 911 is way lighter!
If any of you read EVO Magazine you would have been able to follow the development of this Nissan GTR from first being bought.
Both are incredible cars, this GTR with it's current modifications is rediculously fast. I am a massive Porsche fan though so money no object i would have to go for the Porsche. Althouhg i wouldn't be at all disappointed with a GTR standard or not.
@YesIAmThatCoolBitch yes the porsche are the best car for tuned but if you tune the porsche turbo with his 4x4 you are the best on the road !! mouhahahahahaha
@YesIAmThatCoolBitch Yes but factor in the price of the Porsche and also the weight difference here. The GTR is still the better car for half the money haha. Don;t forget even if it is tuned it still has the weight disadvantage so consider PWR before saying the Porsche should be tuned. The GTR beats it in standard form around a track, straight line speed is not everything.....
The Porsche is a racing car, build for the track. It's far lighter and it's faster at 60 mph. Topspeed's the same which doesn't do much on the track anyway.
Saying the Porsche was a topspeed car and the Nissan was better for the track than the Turbo is just ridiculus. And pretty stupid, too.
@YesIAmThatCoolBitch yes but those figures are only relevant if you are doing a straight line shoot out, & you are right, stock for stock, Porsche does beat it but only by a few car lengths. Now if you put both cars on track, the GTR has the edge Also look how long Porsche has been in the industry making the 911, it still looks the bloody same, performance has only marginally improved over the yrs. The GTR is something different and blows the socks off many of todays supercars.
@kungfumaster901 how do you know that the GTR will beat the porsche around a track? I just saw a video and it doesn't, so stop saying bs. Besides the GT-R is cheap because the materials they use to build it are crap..., after a year the maintenance costs of the GT-R start getting so high, that the porsche is cheaper in the long run, and is much classier
@YesIAmThatCoolBitch tuned 997 can Defeat bugatti? XD its enough by proving that GTR beat 911 in nurburgring no need to talk shit. and you tell me.. which one faster 977 or 911?
despite all the heavy modds on the gtr it could barely beat a 997 porsche, what a disgrace of a toy! GERMANS are just in another league when it comes to engineering i dont know why there is even any competition btw the two, porsches should be compared with jags and cars with class and not datsuns. true talk!
I have heard that Mr Yu refused a passenger on this run, as he knew it would be close beating this standard car. I also hear the passenger of the Porsche was at least 18 stone. A fair old lump. Lets hope next time at brunters we can put these two head to head a few times, and actually see who froths it
The Porsche looks stunning - The Skylines cant help but look council.....
David Yu is just an older chav, just look at the Barry mods done to his car. And the chav number plate, c'mon David, isn't it about time you grew up a little?
@DavidYu2007 Very nice bud have you recently done any modifications to your GTR ?? All i've changed is the stock Gloss Black Wheels with Rays Volk Racing VRG2 Wheels (Black). Now fitted Carbon Fibre Racing PWJDM Ram Air Induction kit & JDM 3.5 inch diameter exhaust system, that splits directly into four smaller pipes sounds incredible, actually one the best exhaust systems i've heard for the GTR, well impressed. Not going to change much power to the engine not yet but i'll see how it goes.

@MUFC11timesEPLChamps You should be aware that Turbo S is a special edition, limited production 911. If you want to compare it to a GTR, you need to choose either Spec V or Club Track edition GTR, which are lighter versions...
@Seventh7Art The point I am trying to make is that the Turbo S is not even really a dedicated track car. The Spec V or Club Track edition car may be failry good on the track but how effective are they on real roads? I think the Turbo S is everything that Carlos Ghosn (CEO of Nissan) said the GTR would be. Anytime, Anyplace, Anyone etc, etc. If you want to use a car everywhere rather than just on a track, I find it really hard to believe that you can get much better than a Turbo S.
@MUFC11timesEPLChamps The Turbo S PDK is brilliant but it costs twice the price of a GTR. Money is everything and unless you have millions in your bank accounts, GTR is the most reasonable choice between the two.
@Seventh7Art You're right it does cost twice as much but for me the GTR would be twice the headache of the Turbo S. Very high maintenance costs, service every 6 months or 6K which ever comes sooner. Compare this with the Turbo S which is a minor service every 2 years and a major service every 4 years. That is a massive difference. When the new 911 comes out the Turbo S prices will drop considerably. I think in 2012-2013 you may be able to pick up a very low mileage one for £75000.
BTW when do we see new wheels on your car Mr Yu, as I think it would complete the exterior with the Purple vinyl...but of course nothing bling or DUB, I mean real performance wheels...
And remember that 1kg saved on unsprung masses equals a 6-7kg gain on the body!
@tyndago I read in EVO that Mr Yu just installed Perfomance Friction PF-01s pads on PZIlla and they work really well on track, so I guess we won't see CCM-rotors in the near future, even if they shave massive weight off.
But a GT-R V-spec brakes conversion would be great, but I hear that you often lose some pedal feel with carbon brakes.

The GTR is something different and blows the socks off many of todays supercars.
kungfumaster901 6 months ago
@kungfumaster901 how do you know that the GTR will beat the porsche around a track? I just saw a video and it doesn't, so stop saying bs. Besides the GT-R is cheap because the materials they use to build it are crap..., after a year the maintenance costs of the GT-R start getting so high, that the porsche is cheaper in the long run, and is much classier
Ferike2000 6 months ago
@YesIAmThatCoolBitch tuned 997 can Defeat bugatti? XD its enough by proving that GTR beat 911 in nurburgring no need to talk shit. and you tell me.. which one faster 977 or 911?
MrSham1996 3 months ago
@MrSham1996
Whos talking about Bugatti?
There is no 977, I think you're talking about the 997.
You're obviously not aware that the 997 IS the latest 911, are you?
YesIAmThatCoolBitch 3 months ago
despite all the heavy modds on the gtr it could barely beat a 997 porsche, what a disgrace of a toy!

Nice run. I would go with some Volk G2s and it would look great.

That was a Launch Control Race, really. 3000 rpm vs 5000 rpm launches...
Seventh7Art 1 year ago
@Seventh7Art 3,500rpm for my GT-R actually. Running a new Cobb launch map. Much more effective than the EDM stock one.
Porsche launched fractionally before me, then there was nothing in it until 60. After that, it was Godzilla power all the way...
DavidYu2007 1 year ago
@DavidYu2007 so, before you let off the gas, how far ahead were you? 1 car length?
Seventh7Art 1 year ago
@Seventh7Art
Before the bottom bend, about 1 or 2 car lengths. By the end of the main straight, at least a couple of seconds.

@DavidYu2007 You are really smart. You have the best car in the world and for a reasonable price.
GT r , THE king !

@Seventh7Art The point is a standard Turbo S would beat a standard GTR all day everyday. It might be a little closer with the 2011 GTR model.
MUFC11timesEPLChamps 1 year ago
@MUFC11timesEPLChamps You should be aware that Turbo S is a special edition, limited production 911. If you want to compare it to a GTR, you need to choose either Spec V or Club Track edition GTR, which are lighter versions...
Seventh7Art 1 year ago
@Seventh7Art The point I am trying to make is that the Turbo S is not even really a dedicated track car. The Spec V or Club Track edition car may be failry good on the track but how effective are they on real roads? I think the Turbo S is everything that Carlos Ghosn (CEO of Nissan) said the GTR would be. Anytime, Anyplace, Anyone etc, etc. If you want to use a car everywhere rather than just on a track, I find it really hard to believe that you can get much better than a Turbo S.
MUFC11timesEPLChamps 1 year ago
@MUFC11timesEPLChamps The Turbo S PDK is brilliant but it costs twice the price of a GTR. Money is everything and unless you have millions in your bank accounts, GTR is the most reasonable choice between the two.
Seventh7Art 1 year ago
@Seventh7Art You're right it does cost twice as much but for me the GTR would be twice the headache of the Turbo S. Very high maintenance costs, service every 6 months or 6K which ever comes sooner. Compare this with the Turbo S which is a minor service every 2 years and a major service every 4 years. That is a massive difference. When the new 911 comes out the Turbo S prices will drop considerably. I think in 2012-2013 you may be able to pick up a very low mileage one for £75000.
MUFC11timesEPLChamps 1 year ago
turbo S still going strong against Pzilla.
BTW when do we see new wheels on your car Mr Yu, as I think it would complete the exterior with the Purple vinyl...but of course nothing bling or DUB, I mean real performance wheels...
And remember that 1kg saved on unsprung masses equals a 6-7kg gain on the body!
MrZuffenhausen 1 year ago
@MrZuffenhausen he needs some CCM brakes first. 38 lbs lighter than those heavy 380 mm iron rotors.
tyndago 1 year ago
@tyndago I read in EVO that Mr Yu just installed Perfomance Friction PF-01s pads on PZIlla and they work really well on track, so I guess we won't see CCM-rotors in the near future, even if they shave massive weight off.
But a GT-R V-spec brakes conversion would be great, but I hear that you often lose some pedal feel with carbon brakes.
oh and it ain't cheap!
