What I can say is that inflationary policies discourage saving and this is a problem. Joseph Stiglitz says that citizens are showing a near 0% savings rate. It is reasonable to think that eliminating the elastic currency could fix this. My question is what would the effect of an inelastic currency be? The supply of all other commodities depends on the demand in the market. Would the supply of an inelastic currency be adequate to fuel the economy with an ever-growing population (increased demand)
I do believe that the Federal Reserve's policies have recently been quite reckless. Placing interest rates near 0% like Ben Bernanke has is basically a bet that our economy will grow at a very fast rate. This is not happening. And his statement last week that he would not raise interest rates and keep inflating the currency is quite disturbing. I still have not decided whether or not an elastic currency is fundamentally good or bad but I think that it has been used improperly by the Fed.
I did really appreciate the book End the Fed. It presents a good case against the Federal Reserve. I would like to state that to truly understand inflation we must also look at wages. Yes, each dollar is worth less now but our wages are higher (though they have stagnated recently) and it actually takes less work to buy the same things which decades ago, cost a fraction of what they do today in dollar amount but took more work to buy.
The economic policy seems sound as well; however, Mr. Paul calls for large deregulation. A truly unfettered free market does not always produce ideal results. Glass-Steagall is a good example of a regulation which was good for the market because it prevented our large financial institutions from playing both the investment and commercial side of the banking coin. I know that I have heard him say that he favored G-S but I would like to hear his thoughts on just how much deregulation is needed.

Ron Paul SHOULD be President. The problem is that the majority of Americans have been brainwashed for so long - they just don't understand how to fight for what's best for them. The economic policy seems sound as well; however, Mr. Paul calls for large deregulation. A truly unfettered free market does not always produce ideal results. Glass-Steagall is a good example of a regulation which was good for the market because it prevented our large financial institutions from playing both the investment and commercial side of the banking coin. I know that I have heard him say that he favored G-S but I would like to hear his thoughts on just how much deregulation is needed.

Ron Paul SHOULD be President. The problem is that the majority of Americans have been brainwashed for so long - they just don't understand how to fight for what's best for them. I certainly hope that Paul gets more support and is taken seriously. This Gary Franchi is more of a problem than a solution to his whole effort. Franchi makes it seems like Paul's efforts is like a SNL skit. Give it up, Franchi- OR, at least, get a new format. You're not helping.

I never taught i would say this but Obama might be worst than Bush junior. So far Obama is on pace to pass Bush spending and he has expanded the wars from one to three !! wars. And Obama care is and epic failure. I don't think we can take another 2 years of Obama as a nation. If Obama is re-elected i know its over for the United States. And if these zombies vote Obama in they deserve everything thats coming to them.

@enemroy Four wars actually. Don't forget that there have been U.S. air-strikes over NW Pakistan to ensure ccntrol of the Khyber Pass. Mr. Obama was nice enough to begin predator drone strikes on Pakistan in 2009. I really do like Mr. Paul's rhetoric and his ideas on foreign policy.

Paul's voting record is wonderful, but he is just another politician, where have all our Statesmen gone? I wish Paul all the luck and best wishes, but if they finish devaluing the dollar until it loses it's status as world standard,2012 will be too late...there may be revolts and "revolutions" around the world from the effects. They have already started.

I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your work. I am doing my best to spread the word, and leaving comments on all video's on YT telling people to visit RTR. I make my own RP 2012 stickers and post them around town (in legal area's) I wish I was able to donate to RTR, but I'm just blearily getting by. I do try to help by spreading the word and letting RP supporters and lovers of Liberty know they have a home at RTR and hopefully someone will be able to help where I can't . TY 4 all.

Anyone who dislikes this video, or thinks that Ron Paul is a "Joke" Should go to a doctor, and get a prescription for an anti-psychotic, that way you can die by the hands of the evil you support by taking poison certified safe by the FDA!
