the great thing about this theme is how it matches gohan's attitude and personality, its first calm and cool but then when its time to explode with rage, it does that.

It shows that he has become a man & he learns how to fight his own battles without Goku's guidance. He was supposed to be the main character after he defeated Cell.

@054martinm Uh yeah it does if you undertand his character and DBZ at all. His arc was BASED on his potential which made him stronger than Goku. Now, how would a tv show about super powered beings fighting their enemies and beating them with over the top special effects show that one character is ggetting stronger than another? @TheTsugnawmi2010 wrong. his arc was based on his character and his pacifist tendencies. gohan started out having no confidence and no understanding of what it means to fight. by the end he gains both and realises he no longer needs to fight as he has secured peacetime. gohans power had little to do with what was going on in his head

@TheTsugnawmi2010 why would i do that when i can read the manga? goku may have thought gohan was gonna be the next protector but ultimately gohans a kid who was thrown into a brutal war at a young age and so developed an aversion/pacifist attitude to fighting, and would rather be playing and studying than training his ass off all day trying to protect everyone." his character is naive, modest and ultimately a nice guy. hes not a fighter and goku realises that when piccolo knocks sense into him

@054martinm Him being a pacifist is one part of his character. The main part of his character is his potential. The pacifism was just added was that he wouldn't be some bland undeveloped character only there to be a deus ex machina. His character arc is based around his power. Everyone who's seen dbz agrees with me except you.

@TheTsugnawmi2010 wrong. pacifism was always there since he wasnt raised to be a fighter because he wanted to. gohan was already bland and out of character in cell arc BECAUSE he acts completely different to just 2 or 3 years beforehand for no explained reason. his character arc is based around his character. if power was sooo important, why wasnt the main emphasis on that? you cant speak for millions of people, so dont even try

@054martinm You continue to be wrong but insist that you know what you're saying. The pacifism was introduced after the hidden potential. A 4 year old being nervous of strangers isn't pacifism or enough to drive a character. A 4 year injuring a fully grown saiyan far stronger than his own father IS. Why would pacifism be what drove a character arc IN DBZ? The pacifism was only there to emphasise the fact that he had potential; "Why isn't he fighitng? He could save everyone?"

@TheTsugnawmi2010 the pacifism was established in gohans first scene. bulma asks if gohan wants to be a warrior, and gohan replies with him wanting to be a great scholar. this is consistent throughout z, this one singular goal. gohans character was never focused on fighting for any reason except protecting his friends. the potential was just other characters seeing that gohan may be stronger than them. but it didnt control his character arc.

And that subsequently changed him as a character from a pussy only wanting to please him mum, to someone realising there's a time and a place to fight but that doesn't mean he has to be a warrior. So like I said, the hidden potential was the main driving point of his character but the pacifiism made him more 3-dimensional

OK we need to redo Kai. Have BOTH the original soundtrack (for quieter moments and because it knows when to use silence) and Bruce Faulconer's music (because he knows how to make something epic and he made some really good themes for character eg Hell's Bells)

Think about it, he'd have learnt from his battle with Cell not to be cocky and finish off the enemy before something bad happens like say, you lose your father. He only acted like that so he would be absorbed because of the Goku and Vegeta fanboys not liking the idea that Gohan would save the day
