TO EVERYBODY ON THE GLOVES QUESTION: Gloves are needed mostly to prevent the wheel to ruin with hands sweating. The one is a real Alcantara leather wheel, and so using it without gloves would obviously ruin it faster!
Second reason is that with gloves you have much more grip on the wheel, preventing losing it in a "fast control maneuver", for example.
Third reason, really personal, is that as I drive in real racing with gloves (of course), and want to have the same feedback on sim. Really simple
I have the same set up, only instead of a gear stick I have a bottle of Jack daniels in my right hand. Ha Ha, GLOVES ? WTF! We have a rally car and even then, I 've never worn gloves, Fail!

@Aracer48 That's more like it. How you could go back to rFactor after playing iRacing, is beyond me. If anything, maybe GTR2, but rFactor is just awful, in my opinion of course.
@Aracer48 rFactor and GTR2 have the same base engine, but that's where the similarities end. It's incredible how they managed to make a newer sim game worse in just about every way (GTR2 Vs. rFactor). As for iRacing, the whole point of the game is racing online (building your real Career). There is no offline mode, other than practice modes. Yet, I concede that an offline mode would be nice, but we have to deal with it as is, until they offer AI to race with (rumored in an upcoming update).
everyone always asks in the videos about the gloves, apparently you have never driven a high miles vehicle, because the oil in your hands will eat right through a steering wheel padded or leather, that is why these guys use gloves.
@tigerballin29 hey mate.... i dont think you are correct.... throughout my career gloves have always been a safety precaution and to stop your hand becoming sweaty and slippery on the wheel... i think your idea of oil eating through the wheel is a bit far fetched... not to say it couldnt happen, just might take a while.... as for old mate in the vid, he either has slipper hands or is a kook!!

Forth reason, and main reason for me is horn skin. One can exactly see which horn skin on my hands is from driving Ricchard Burns rally.

@esoterik45 GTR2 is based on rFactor engine, anyway i use certain mods and participate only to championships well organized. I don't run so many mods.
i like iRacing but i still not raced there, and i don't see a way of using it exept online racing.
