No, Jesus was not a myth, there were just hundreds of men named Jesus. This was the one thing that stuck in my head for so long before I dumped that lame mythology. Also, the title of "christ" is like "father" for many christian preachers. It's a label of office. There is a modern religion that demonstrates what this video points out though, look at the Mormon history closely.
@KittenKoder What your saying is a half truth. 1 hypothesis is that this so called Jesus who probably was a rabbi claiming to be a messiah, story was enhanced or made up, to make him appear as a God. So Jesus could of been a real man but the story of his life and the things he did is a myth.
It's kind of funny that you went through all that trouble of making a very pretty timeline just to try to make some point that's completely moot regarding the salvation of mankind by the sovereignty of God. Even if Jesus was to literally stand in front of you and say that He is God, you wouldn't believe Him unless the Father grants it for you. Even if you had all the proof in the universe God exists and Jesus Christ is He, you couldn't believe it to be true unless the Father grants it for you.
Quick comment/question from your FAV sources.... Pauls letters
How do your reconcile the “off the cuff comments” from Paul about “James the brother of the Lord” *Galatians 1:19* as a Historian?
According to Christian writings, James the brother of Jesus became the leader of the Jewish sect that would become known as Jewish Christianity. James remained the leader until he was martyred AD 62.
Do you see a parallel w/ "James" from Gal 1:19 and "James" from Josephus?
Even Barnabas was led astray from these Liars and Hypocrites.Gal2.Paul is calling the apostles this.I thought Jesus sanctified them in the truth.John17.
How could Peter write 2Peter when the early church fathers said they knew he did not write it?It was written in Greek so we know only Paul could write any of the NT.It was written 70yrs after Peter's death.
The apostles had different regions of preaching. That's why rev is written directly to johns Asia minor region and if you ever read the Greek of peter, you would see it is constructed very similarly to some of josephus Greek writtings showing very heavy Hebrew fisherman language.
Paul confronted James, peter, and other apostles, exchanged knowledge with them, corrected their actions and was the gentile apostle approved.
Also, Gal2 makes it very clear on who Paul traveled with and why titus and barnabas taught to the gentiles. He corrected them on fact that God shows no favoritism between either Jew or Greek and some of their actions around Jews like acting stuck up and not eating with Greeks when Jewish rabbis were present was not acceptable.
James and peter were based in Jerusalem. Barnabas and some other apostels were based further outside Jerusalem.
It's crazy but none of pauls teachings differ from the rest of the nt. Your upset that he was the Gentile apostle with barnabas? Your upset that Gal2 and james2 teach the same thing about treating people from outside the church equally? If you really wanna know who paul is, simply look up scholarly opinions on pauls documents and read his words.
He said he not one of the 12 apostles but he was by Christ and by the 12.
Apparently you do not know how to read. Paul teaches a lawless doctrine. I think Jesus is upset this deceiver taught against himself. Jesus taught to obey EVERY law if you love him.Do you love him?Paul taught against it.Peter says god chose himself.Acts15.Paul claims "NO,I am to the gentiles and Peter is to the jews.Gal2.
Paul encourages eating idol meat.1Cor10.Jesus condemns it,Rev2, as did James 3 times.James2 condemns Paul and Luther knew it.
In this video, you say that Josephus mentions Jesus as early as 70, but in fact, the mention of Jesus is in Antiquities, which was not published until the 90's. Josephus' earlier work, Jewish Wars, doesn't mention Jesus at all. That adds to the possibility that Josephus (assuming this passage isn't an interpolation), has heard of Jesus from the growing Jesus movement itself. I personally think this passage is an interpolation.
Rather than disprove the Bible archaeology continues to confirm and illumine the events in it. Skeptics have relegated Adam and Eve to mythology clay tablets at Ninevah depict a man, a women and a serpant. In addition, archaeology confirms the accuracy and superiority of the records of the Hebrew people dating right back to Adam. Records of other ancient people are far more fragmentary than the Biblical Hebrew record
We dont even say the real name of this man right and he was a vegetarian also, most things attributed to him are not His beliefs. he has been re-invented and true revelations rejected and replaced with false teachings. @theyuha " We dont even say the real name of this man right"
We don't say many names of people from other nations and different language as English speakers with American dialects. We transfer names via our native tounge.
Ie; Jesus in English translated into Spanish is *hey-zuse* in the Spanish native tounge. Jesus in Arabic is germatticlly equal as yeshua but the Jesus of Islam/quran is *iza/issa*.
@milkydud On your kneeZ, deceiver of Mankind, and pray to the actual CreatorZ - their number and their properties are unknown - that they might forgive you for your HUBRIS, to falsely identify them with the man made ABOMINATION of the EVOLVED, MUTATED Abrahamic !MONO! Creator G-D of the JudaeO'phrenics, the ChristO'holics, and the ProphetO'Tards, and for spewing NONSENSICAL fiction rather than perceiving REALITY. Just answer 2 Q: "Who is the global FUEL" and "Since When"
@kleenex3000 These tablets still constituted such valuable testimony about their life-styles that the late Professor William F. Albright concluded that "the narratives of Genesis dealing with Abram may now be integrated into the life and history of the time [the second millennium B.C.] in such surprisingly consistent ways that there can be little doubt about their substantial historicity" (Biblical Archaeologist, July 1973, p. 10)
@kleenex3000 Like what? Joseph smith golden plates?
Fist of all, the plates found in Iraq are not and were not given to the archeological researcher via angel. The evidence I provided is archeological, historical evidence that has and will continue to be tested and retested for proof.
Last I checked, Joseph smith was told by an angel the location of thoes tablets, he lookd for them years later, found them, translated them, and then gave them back to the angel.
@milkydud You are talking nonsense LOL. Are you Joseph Smith by any chance LMAO? And do you have a clue as HOW J(the)C EVOLVED ? I know exactly why frauds of your kind are DOOMED - to deny EVOLUTION ROFL! Now askl your imaginary angelZ, demonZ, and the Abonminartion of your Abrrahamic CREATOR [G-D] for further advice OMG xDxDxD
You are asking for historic evidence for abraham of the ot, i give u some archeological evidence, and u suppress it, confusing it with Joseph smith golden plates he historically gave back to the angel he got it from.
@milkydud Abraham is a mere MYTH, afaik first created by the "J"ehovist author.
If you believe in Angels and Taslking Snakes THEN I must rightfully require you to believe ion the RESURRECTING FLESH of Minh (ATUM) that created ininity (circle) through Auto-Fellatio (circle)
Next Q:
Are you familiar with the Egyptian "Book of the Dead"
Do you know that your ChristO'holic commandements are already INCLUDED
there (in the past-Form though but in the right order (!))
@milkydud The Bible is a book for those that superpose the idea of "it CANNOT be true that our existence is finite", creating the precious concept of afterlife. The inconenient fact is though Life has a start an ALPHA and it is a priori reasonable that it has an OMEGA. Unless COMPELLING, credible evidence suggests other. For YOU, the SWcripture is this evidence, and in essentially THIS, we differ from another. I accept but literature out of scientific consensus. Not philosophical consensus.
You have a misunderstood. The bible is a histoy of the Jews and their basic understanding of origin. They were theist who claimed faith in one God that was all knowing, and the creqtor of the cosmos. They also spoke of scientific truths Like water cycle, round earth, all humans genetically come from an "eve" of humans via a "adam" sperm, ect.
@milkydud The Torah is very clear on this: G-D CLONED Eva out of a rib of Adam. No sperm. But genetical engineering. Cudos for removing all Y chromosomes and replacing by X "Oh dear Lord, our daily dose of insanity provide us with, today, and for ever and ever" OMG xD
I agree we can agree to disagree but we know that ultimately we didn't create the cosmos, and yet as highly intelligent beings that we clearly have more relevance than our simple yet complex microorganism cousins of ours.
We have hope and faith. Likewise you have the same in your science. The crazy thing is is that the biblical text can't b destroyed. Science is always subsequently under the burden of alterations and new conclusions.
@milkydud Science does NOT provide me with the hope on Afterlife! It rather suggests that we have to make the best out of our lives, and not head for a fiction.
I worked 20 y in the scientific field. Assuming that scientific facts like Evolution of the Universe and of the Live beings be a matter of faith is a sign of ignorance, if not wuillful submission to aPOMI.
This argument is flawed. The Creationist would have to prove that there HAD BEEN literally"nothing"in the"first place"
IF I humbly say "I do not know how the birth of the Universe occuirred" it does not constitute a reason for the [Abomination of the] Abrahamic G-D.
IF there was actually compelling reason (credible evidence) for a Creator Principle THEN this does not help the Abrahamic cause, bcz the number of the CreatorZ and their Properties is UNKNOWN.
@kleenex3000 The existence of the Book of the Dead was known as early as the Middle Ages, well before its contents could be understood. Since itwas found in tombs, it was evidently a documentof a religious nature, and this led to the widespread misapprehension that the Book of the Dead was the equivalent of a Bible.
How did Jews start as polytheist? Have u not considered the 1st verse of genesis?
I am not a Muslim. I know their text is attributed to one person like the mormons text.
I see u love evolution.
Could you please show me in the fossil records where we see a slow gradual mutation process that agrees with Darwin's evolutionary explanations?
I see, what most scientists saying, the Cambridge fossil records are the oldest yet thwy show no agreement with either Darwin or modern evolutionary explicit claims of slow mutation.
You worship the Abomination of the Abrahamic MONO-Creator [G-D]. No matter whether as a JudaeO'phrenic, a ChristO'holic, or a ProphetO'Tard. IT is the identical, but differently EVOLVED, MUTATED Mono-Father. The G-D of the ProCreation of the chosen people. The G-D that HATES "other G-Ds a-side me".
MAN=Evolved MUTATED Primate = Animal But with highly developed BRAIN that makes huim take FICTION for REALITY bcz he does not accept FINITY of EXistence = irrefutable fact
1) Q: Why have the human corner dents (eyeteeth) the DOUBLE length?
WHO do you think will answer this: Holy Scripture OR Evolution-
@kleenex3000 the LDS do not even consider the golden plates as a historical record. The Community of Christ, however, while accepting the Book of Mormon as scripture,no longer takes an official position on the historicity of the golden plates. Moreover, even in the more theologically conservative LDS Church, some adherents who accept the Book of Mormon as inspired scripture donot believe it is a literal translation of a physical historical record of the golden plates.
@milkydud Scriptures, this still defies your mind, are EVOLVED, historically MUTATED fairy tales for Adults, that can"t accept the irreversible factum that SPIRIT is established through neurophysical reaction in the brain. BOUND to matter
Learn that you had an ALPHA. No credible Evidence is, that you will NOT have an
O M E G A. You WILL live forth, in the organisms that convert your rotting flesh.
Do you have a clue why the ProphetO'phile Scripture of the ILSALM is evolved, MUTATED, TOO?
Mitochondria are inherited solely through the egg from the mother, allowing the identification of descendants from any female lineage. Variations in mitochondrial DNA between people have conclusively shown that all people have descended from one female.
Y chromosomes are passed on to sons from their father, and just as mitochondrial DNA shows that all have descended from one female, Y chromosome analysis suggests that all men have descended from one common ancestor.
@milkydud The well known fact of a "biological Adam" and Eva respectively, does not constitute a biological Paradise with a Tree of Knowledge and a talking snake. Please do not "pick and choose" but IF then I will do the same :P
Well I don't where it might b. I'm not claiming to be a pure evolution believer.
What i can tell u is to draw your blood, do an ancestral test.
What you will find is, all humans have a common ancestor from Ethiopia. The ethopians have a very strong gene and that genetic connection is also very prominent in the dirt of that region.
@milkydud C'mon. EARTH and MOON are both 4.44...4.51 Billion Y old; newest data from May2010. It comes better though:
The age of the Earth is BEING (!) determined times and times, since the first accurate measurement of "4.55 ± 1.5% billion years, very close to today's accepted age, was determined by C.C. Patterson using uranium-lead isotope dating (specifically lead-lead dating) on several meteorites including the Canyon Diablo meteorite and published in 1956"
Do you have a clue WHY the crucial factor of determination, NAMELY the velocity of natural decay of the heavy elements [being determined as "1/2lifetime"], is virtually RESISTANT to alteration (which is being claimed by YoungEartherZ)
@milkydud Science approaches the "true value" of something infinitesimally. As long as it is still in the state of just "jumping around" the scientific community INDICATES so, and it discusses controversely. They are quite the contrary to a "conspiracy" that attempt to "deceive the world" I worked in the scientific field for 20 Y, and I experienced that the teams are in COMPETITION. They do not grudge another the scientific triumph. They question each détail and everything before they admit.
@theyuha " most things attributed to him are not His beliefs. he has been re-invented and true revelations rejected and replaced with false teachings."
This is according to what ancient biblical or non biblical documentary evidence? EARLY Non Biblical evidence...
Ignatius wrote very early (around AD 107) and was a representative of apostolic Christianity, Ignatious of Antioch wrote Jesus is God CONSTANTLY & RELIGIOUSLY within his letters.
@milkydud Science shows that the Essenes were vegetarian bases on no bones in the garbage dumps. private catholic revelation says Christ was a vegetarian. There is evidence early Christians were vegetarians plus there is scripture outside the canon that forbids meat eating. it is possible many early christians were Essenes. there are some discrepencies in the Bible even a priest friend of mine knows about. Jesus was God but man has conflicting views on His attributes. theyuhu.blogspot.com/
@theyuha " there are some discrepencies in the Bible even a priest friend of mine knows about. Jesus was God but man has conflicting views on His attributes"
Yes the essenes could have made up much of the original Jewish converts to Christians. Science does not show they were mainly vegetarians, philo,Josephus, and pliny the elder writing inform us of that.
The thing that proves that Jesus wasn't a Essense is the diffrences biblically on the Jewish scriptures And their authenticity.
The main differences between the ancient Essenes and biblical Jesuss the viewpoint of old testament if it was or wasn't reliable.
Jesus forfilled the law that was passed down from Moses and he never claimed the belief of the Jews was wrong but claimed they portrayed the text wrong not that the text itself was wrong.
Granted, some church commentary say that Essenes lived around the dead sea, there is zero evidence claiming they were the authors of dead sea scrolls.
@milkydud I believe He was real. The Lord comes where people fall away from truth. Most of the errors He came to fix are still there but i think there was some improvement. There is only one spiritual truth but the Christian world has many conflicting ideas even in the Bible itself. I think someone may have changed the Bible to suit their own ends at some or several points of time depending on the version of the Bible.Due to this mess Im a Hindu now. theyuha.blogspot.com
I have over 2400 new testament documents and the early church fathers manuscripts to demonstrate how the new testament is quite reliable.
May I refer them the the very first verse of the bible... Genesis 1:1 also proves from the get go, Jews and Christians believed there was only 1 God as seen if you know how to read English or Hebrew, check the oldest biblical documents speak fully for themselves.
Shepherd of Hermas cited Matthew, Mark, Acts, I Corinthians, and other books Didache referred to Matthew, Luke, 1 Corinthians, and other books
Papias, companion of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John, quoted John. This argues powerfully that the Gospels were in existence before the end of the first century, while some eyewitnesses (including John) were still alive.
@smsavage32 "Find evidence" Of the four gospels alone there are 19,368 citations by the church fathers from the late first century on. 268 by Justin Martyr 1038 by Ireneaus 1017 by Clement of Alexandria 9231 by Origen 3822 by Tertullian 734 by Hippolytus 325 by Eusebius Clement of Rome cited Matthew, John, 1 Corinthians in 95 to 97 Ignatius referred to six Pauline Epistles Polycarp quoted from all four Gospels, Acts and most of Paul's Epistles
"The Lukan papyrus, has been dated to the late 1st century or early 2nd century, so it could predates the John papyrus by 20-30 years. New research mentions a fragment from the book of Mark found among the Qumran scrolls (fragment 7Q5) showing that it was written sometime before 68 AD, so this manuscript could have been written, at the latest, within 35 years of Jesus' death; possibly earlier, and thus should be looked at AS CREDIBLE.
Is it not ironic that the oldest documented evidence of the New Testament biblical text attest to #1, their not Pauline and #2, they attest to his death?
Now again I ask you, according to what evidence do you claim Paul created Christ or Christianity?
@smsavage32 " ...find some evidence that shows that Paul didn't invent Christianity."
Ancient documents of biblical evidence, in particular the NT, Paul's letters are not our oldest documents.
P 52 is our oldest manuscript. Modern scholarship says it was written around 27 years from its original counterpart. This makes John 18:31-33,37-38 our oldest attested manuscript of new testament document.
P46, mainly a Pauline manuscript, has a time span of 150 years from its original counterpart.
Now, according the the quote i left in the 1st part of this dialog, "the characters they write about are most likely mythological."...
What claims, if any, are you willing to except from Pauls letters as FACTS attributed to Jesus?
YOU AND I KNOW that the biblical textural evidence as attested in the NT and elswhere claims more highly probabilistic things to Jesus than STRICTLY theistic mythic claims.
Ironically, grammatically Paul has problematic passages that should not overrule Paul’s many texts
in which he reveals the following: (1) he was always a strict monotheist, believing God is
numerically one, (2) he never provides a discussion as to whether Jesus preexisted or was
God, (3) he constantly distinguishes God and Christ, (4) he often interchanges “God” and “the Father,” (5) he says Jesus has a God, and (6) he declares that only the Father is God.
@smsavage32 "Jay-Z claims GOD MC = Pauls Letters?" 2
Likewise I noted that u never, I mean NEVER have a definite answer to the claim you have as the title of this video.
For these reasons, I ask you if you believe Jay Z is real due to the claim of being "GOD MC" in Tackover off his Blueprint album.
Likewise, was Pilate real B/C LIKE Pauls text, we have 0 original copies, and there is a consciousnesses historically, the majority of ancient writters had scribes.
@smsavage32 "Jay-Z claims GOD MC = Pauls Letters?"
First, I asked u of a differnce between Jesus and Pilate
u answered...
"I believe that when we have so many examples of how a mythological beings comes into the pages of literature... the characters they write about are most likely mythological."
I understand this to mean...
IF a mythological attribute/claim is being claimed to a person, by either self or others accounts, that makes the person a complete Myth.
@milkydud "I understand this to mean... IF a mythological attribute/claim is being claimed to a person, by either self or others accounts, that makes the person a complete Myth."
The point of this video is to find some evidence that shows that Paul didn't invent Christianity. You have provided no evidence that shows that. Pointing to a guy on youtube who claims to be God doesn't do it. Interpreting my words to mean something other than what the words I wrote mean doesn't do it either.
@smsavage32 Wait. I knew that Josephus mentioned nothing about Jesus... the only "mention" of Jesus made by Josephus comes from a tempered edition in the 4th century, falsified by a bishop of Alexandria, who inherited the original from his predecesor (who, ironically, complained that Josephus never said anything about Jesus...).
Sorry for not supplying names and proper references, I wrote this at work in kind of a hurry.
Jesus existed, he was a good man. the 3 astrologers made him believe that he is the Christ. He kept repeating to himself, "I am Christ" many times and later was deluded in believing he was really the Christ. he is actually a pygmy with a voice sound of chipmunks. He was small that no body bothers him until he shouted at the crowd that he was the Christ. Then people pick up stones because of blasphemy and out of disgust of comparing God into a chipmunk sounding pygmy. Then he hid in the rocks.
Jesus was VERY popular name*somewhere around the 6th most popular name of men in 1st century Judea then & people were distinguished by other things like their hometown "Paul/Saul of Tarsus", family affiliation/relation "James, the Brother of the Lord/The younger of the Lord", or religious beliefs *Mary, daughter of David*.
You and I know that harry potter and James bond are books and movies that were produced for entertainment purposes and have zero historic reliability or credibility for that matter.
Jesus Christ is the most documented person of ancient history. The most documented claim attributed to him is the claim of him dieing on a cross.
Would you believe Jesus was NOT a myth if there were no "God's son, wonder working, rising from dead, ascending to heaven" claims were made?
Logically, you claim Paul was real due to his letters but you dont distinguish the "truthful/high probability of being truthful" accounts with a logical conclusion of LIFE CLAIMS from Pauls letters.
Most historians are theological and even Atheism is theological,
You want a 100% affirmation of Jesus but you fail to acknowledge ever variable in the equation.
@smsavage32 1Jo 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Biblically, those who hate their brother are murderers. Paul hated the Christians that he persecuted by own admittion in Pauline docs. If he didn't, why did he admitt to "prescuting" them prior to preaching to them?
@milkydud "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." John. (1 John 3:15 )
Hmmm... what do you make of this passage:
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." Jesus. (Luke 14:26)
The simple meaning of this verse in its context is... in order to be a disciple of Christ, must love him more than any other being, not even excluding self or family.
"Hateth" as applied here to father, mother, etc., means "to love less".
The Biblical use of this word becomes clear when it is recalled that Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah (Genesis 29:30).- "The Lord saw that Leah was hated." Loving the Lord more than ALL is the plan of salvation threw submission.
@milkydud ""Hateth" as applied here to father, mother, etc., means "to love less"."
Wow. It's a good thing that you are around now so that you can tell us what words Jesus should have used. Just Imagine all the centuries of people thinking that god actually meant what he said. God sure could have used you around the time he was writing the bible so that you could point out his bad choice of words before he actually wrote them.
@smsavage32 "God sure could have used you around the time he was writing the bible so that you could point out his bad choice of words before he actually wrote them."
Are you implying that 1st... God Wrote the Bible, and 2 I translated the greek better than any biblical commentator?
Have you read ANY ancient commentaries of the Bible? ANY at all? The church fathers documents? They elaborated on much of the text.
I never said "God wrote the Bible" IT was written by many men as inspired by God.
You implied...
" It's a good thing that you are around now so that you can tell us what words Jesus should have used. "
as if I was a Biblical scholar and such.
If you felt as if me listing the corresponding verses of the Bible as out of context, why did you have to wait untill... like my 4th comment this morning to point it out?
Christians do nothing BUT take passages out of context. The cherry pick only the verses they believe and leave the rest of the bible for the dump. They assemble their cherry picked verses together to make up whatever they want.
But, When someone points out one of those passages they they are ignoring, they scream
OUT OF CONEXT!!!
And so, since you did, I simply began pointing it out.
TO claim that Jesus was false, you have to "cherry pick" verses from the Bible and other historical documents that make reference to a living, talking, travailing, Jew from the 1st century Palestine (named Christ -most often called, Jesus- more often with either Christ or Nazareth attached, Son of David- bloodline threw mom and pop, and Son of Man-the most common name he called himself) that was claimed to have been hung via cross during Pilats' reign.
If the Bible is not the CONTEXT itself... what whould you like me to judge it text by?
Surrounding passages...
Luke 14:25 Jesus was in Peræa, and the people were availing themselves of this opportunity to see and hear Jesus when "LUKE 14:26" is said. Jesus made use of this striking statement that he might startle each hearer, and impress upon him the wide difference between a mere outward appearance upon him and a real, disciple-like adhesion to him.
@milkydud "If the Bible is not the CONTEXT itself... "
If you are going to go with that, then you have to take into account that 75% of the bible is God killing people who do not grovel at his feet. Given that context, anything Jesus says about "love" is overpowered by all the hate that God dumps on humanity. Furthermore, if you believe in the trinity, then you must believe that Jesus did all that O.T. hating... but then when he got his mother pregnant, he had a change of heart.
@milkydud "How many verses do u know of exactly that mention God killing?"
In most cases, the stories have PEOPLE killing other people because God ordered them to. ( or at least they used "God" as a justification for their own violent tendencies .) But in other cases, the stories claim that God does the killing directly. Such as the flood story where he drown little babies. But here is what gets REALLY interesting... how many people did Satan kill in those very same stories?
@smsavage32 "In most cases, the stories have PEOPLE killing other people because God ordered them to. ( or at least they used "God" as a justification for their own violent tendencies ."
True... BUT you know what..... even when people used that authority to kill someone, according to the NT and the WHOLE bible, we are told "DO NOT KILL" in the OT & 10 commandments. Again, Jesus taught Love. Nothing Jesus preached disproved the Law of the Jews. HE came to FOR FILL the LAW not DESTROY IT!
@smsavage32 "In most cases, the stories have PEOPLE killing other people because God ordered them to. ( or at least they used "God" as a justification for their own violent tendencies ."
I am also glad that u noted that when a person sometimes killed or disobeyed the "Law" they did it on MUCH of their own intuition. *LAW as most commonly used by Paul to describe the Jewish religious standards/rules*
@smsavage32 "how many people did Satan kill in those very same stories?"
Well, to even claim Satan killed, you have to believe is real...
2nd It is not that he kills physical or spiritual beings because our Bible lets us know that we have a GREAT power on our side that takes revenge for us on Our behave. Also, having faith in God, I know that Satan has ZERO power over me. I know that Satan threwout the bible DECEIVES/ TRICKS
OK, now could you please distinguish what makes JAY Z real due to the "mythic" nature of some of his claims of being a "RAP GOD/ GOD MC" in his lyrics.
@smsavage32 "How does discussing the content of a myth "Prove" it is not a myth?" Strictly because someone made a claim about a person does not mean it is true.
IE: I am very sure the reason why your wont address my question about Jay-Z is because JAY-Z ATTRIBUTED THE "GOD MC" CLAIM TO HIMSELF.
Is it that once you find out that someone claims to be "a God/God" you claim they never existed.
Do you view ALL claims of someone being "God/ a God'" elude to that person being false/myth/nonexistent
I do believe in the Trinity. Do u understand its concepts well enough to even debate me on? From your brief discussion above, your definitions is WAY Off.
God is 1 being, distinctive in 3 persons.
IE
Humans are one race of species yet separate by skin color, sex, and our deformities...
or
H2O is the water molecule
it can perform all duties of H2O in all 3 of its states... Ice, Liquid, and Vapor. All are equal and the same just categorized diffidently via manifestation
Christ must be followed and imitated even to the extremity of suffering.
Discipleship is character-building, and shame awaits him who attempts to be a Christian and fails to live up to his profession. Its not intended to discourage anyone from attempting to be a disciple meant to warn us against attempting so great an undertaking with the frivolity of spirit and want of determination which insure failure.
@milkydud "Christ must be followed and imitated even to the extremity of suffering."
That is what should send shivers down the back of any law abiding citizen.
"But those my enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me." Jesus teaching in a parable. Luke 19:27 (Notice however that in the parable Jesus uses the pronoun "he" to describe the king, but when he gets to the commandment to kill, he changes to the pronouns "I" and "me". )
Also, to make plainer the message of Jesus in reference to "hate", please take time to understand what he/Jesus claimed to be the most important commandments/orders/directions from God...
So now that you have informed us of what words God should have used when he uses the word "hate", we should go back and re-read the passage that prompted this:
"Whosoever LOVES HIS brother LESS is a murderer... " John. (1 John 3:15 )
@smsavage32 "So now that you have informed us of what words God should have used when he uses the word "hate", we should go back and re-read the passage that prompted this"
So, again, when you read the Bible, I have noticed that you like to exclude the context of the text in question...
What makes "loving less" of anything harsh when we were directed EARLY in the Bible to "LOVE GOD, HAVE NO OTHER GOD's B4 HIM" & TREAT ALL AS SELF?
@milkydud "The Biblical use of this word ("hate") becomes clear when (you read the bible)
I would agree wholeheartedly. It is clearly defined by this passage.
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" 1 John 4:20
"hateth" clearly means "loveth not"
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother ... he cannot be my disciple." Jesus.
@milkydud "16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." 1 John 3:16
I noticed that you ALWAYS quote these passages out of context. But i suppose that it is to be expected. I also noticed that when challenged on the meaning of a passage you use "context" from passages that are not anywhere near the context of the passage. For instance. Genesis 29:30 in response to Luke 14:26. Again, to be expected.
Is it your understanding that these two passage do not correspond? Would you agree or disagree that they use the same word in a similar manner for textorial criterion?
Did it use the same word/phrase in the same manner?
Could you grasp my understanding of the texts in question if you just read the context of the Luke and 1 John verses?
I would argue that you could.
The verses b4 and after explain what is to Love, who to Love, and where our Love comes from.
This is usually taken to mean, "but give room or space for wrath to spend itself." But as the context shows that the injunction is to leave vengeance to God, "wrath" here seems to mean, not the offense, which we are tempted to avenge, but the avenging wrath of God, which we are enjoined to await.
17By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.19 We love because he first loved us.
21And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
@smsavage32 1 John 4:18 U ASK ME "so what do u make of this... that...." and get mad because I explain my opinion. DONT GET MAD WHEN I EXPLAIN Proverbs 9:10 Job 28"28 and Psalm 111:10. ..... I guessed I am missing what you want me to answer here.... Are u asking that if in these passages, what does "fear" mean or why should we "fear" God? Please explain what u want to know about these passages.
Jesus was a myth ....There may well indeed have been a Man named Jesus around the time in question. However it most assuredly was not the Jesus Christians believe in.Furthermore I believe that a great many Theologians know that the Jesus they aspouse to gullable christians did not exist. The Bible is complete BS as is the old testament. If Christains wish to believe in this crap fine. But plz do not push it on others. And do not be so arrogant as to tell non-believers that we are going to hell.
The FORMER THEOLOGIAN, current historian Dr. Bart Ehrman believes that there was a PERSON named JESUS that was called CHRIST/Messiah*native language* from the 1st Century Palestine area that was killed on a cross.
Why would a distinguished scholar like Ehrman have these understandings of the PERSON JESUS CHRIST from a historical P.O.V. dismiss some of the claims attributed *Ie:miracles/magic* and affirm the widely documented claim of death on a cross?
Paul states his gospel most succinctly in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved . . . For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
So to Paul's admittion, what "sorce" *the Scriptures* held Jesus' life story?
@smsavage32 "Did you really just ask that? Paul's writings are the very thing that are in question."
YES.
Why u ask?
You believe Paul was real due to his name being on letters but you dont believe his stories are true?
So then on what basis do you believe Paul really created Jesus.
If we judge Paul's letters by what claims are made in them, you can have a good basis and decipher, but you just dismiss the conclusion due to embellishment of mythical stature?
Sean Carter, the Brooklyn rapper more commonly known as JAY-Z attrubited to hiselsf a mythical stature that you would proboly dismiss due to the theological nature of the claim...
"God MC, ME JAY HOVA" The Takeover
So you believe JAY Z/ Sean Carter is real even tho he himself claims to be a RAP GOD?
It is obvious your views are obscure to fit your atheist prospective.
HAHAHHA!!! THIS ZULFITRAIN GUY BLOCKED ME AND DELETED MY COMMENTS ON HIS PROFILE!!!! common man, you are stil not admitting it...i OWNED YOU IN THAT DISCUSSION!!! why did you delete what i said huh??? why is it when i said i owned you, you panicked and started sending me random messages about how the quran is wrong...I WAS ABLE TO PROVE YOU WRONG MAN!!! AND YOU DELETED MY MESSAGES BECAUSE YOU ARE ASHAMED LLLLOOOOOLLLL....go die man, in fact...i digitally killed you ;)
@smsavage32 "the only documents we have repeat what Paul made up"
So going to Josephus evidence, who did he attribute his research to? Paul or James the younger and if u say paul, list the evidence you know of that josephus admitted to reading or studied that he grasped his conclusions fully off of Paul's discriptions of Jesus.
Even if I accepted your view you still have to prove that the people who followed Christian faith relied soully on Paul's documents to construct jesus' life.
@milkydud "Even if I accepted your view you still have to prove that the people who followed Christian faith relied solely on Paul's documents to construct Jesus' life."

Is it under a different title/name, or is it, "Was Jesus a Myth, Pt. 2?"
SuperZero42 17 hours ago
No, Jesus was not a myth, there were just hundreds of men named Jesus. This was the one thing that stuck in my head for so long before I dumped that lame mythology. Also, the title of "christ" is like "father" for many christian preachers. It's a label of office. There is a modern religion that demonstrates what this video points out though, look at the Mormon history closely.
KittenKoder 2 weeks ago
@KittenKoder What your saying is a half truth. 1 hypothesis is that this so called Jesus who probably was a rabbi claiming to be a messiah, story was enhanced or made up, to make him appear as a God. So Jesus could of been a real man but the story of his life and the things he did is a myth.
creamone 2 weeks ago
It's kind of funny that you went through all that trouble of making a very pretty timeline just to try to make some point that's completely moot regarding the salvation of mankind by the sovereignty of God. Even if Jesus was to literally stand in front of you and say that He is God, you wouldn't believe Him unless the Father grants it for you. Even if you had all the proof in the universe God exists and Jesus Christ is He, you couldn't believe it to be true unless the Father grants it for you.

What up Mr Savage?
Quick comment/question from your FAV sources.... Pauls letters
How do your reconcile the “off the cuff comments” from Paul about “James the brother of the Lord” *Galatians 1:19* as a Historian?
According to Christian writings, James the brother of Jesus became the leader of the Jewish sect that would become known as Jewish Christianity. James remained the leader until he was martyred AD 62.
Do you see a parallel w/ "James" from Gal 1:19 and "James" from Josephus?

First of all... All of the humans broke Gods law.

@worksequalsalvation I went to your site.

Records of other ancient people are far more fragmentary than the Biblical Hebrew record

milkydud 2 months ago
@milkydud The Bible is a book for those that superpose the idea of "it CANNOT be true that our existence is finite", creating the precious concept of afterlife. The inconenient fact is though Life has a start an ALPHA and it is a priori reasonable that it has an OMEGA. Unless COMPELLING, credible evidence suggests other. For YOU, the SWcripture is this evidence, and in essentially THIS, we differ from another. I accept but literature out of scientific consensus. Not philosophical consensus.
kleenex3000 2 months ago
@kleenex3000
You have a misunderstood. The bible is a histoy of the Jews and their basic understanding of origin. They were theist who claimed faith in one God that was all knowing, and the creqtor of the cosmos. Lastly, we do not understand the logical flaw of sciencisum.
Somthing coming from nothing?
What existed that one nanosecond prior to the big bang?
Nothing if I'm not mistaken, yet we do not scientifically know of any natural "somthing coming from nothing"
Logically, nothing is what somthing is not, and somthing can't file from nothing.
milkydud 2 months ago
@milkydud "something out of nothing"

The thing that proves that Jesus wasn't a Essense is the diffrences biblically on the Jewish scriptures And their authenticity.
milkydud 3 months ago
@theyuha " Essenes vs Jesus"

@smsavage32
What EVIDENCE do you provide that PAUL'S EPISTELS WERE THE SOLE BASIS of the Christian/Jesus Christ belief?
milkydud 3 months ago
Shepherd of Hermas cited Matthew, Mark, Acts, I Corinthians, and other books Didache referred to Matthew, Luke, 1 Corinthians, and other books
Papias, companion of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John, quoted John. This argues powerfully that the Gospels were in existence before the end of the first century, while some eyewitnesses (including John) were still alive.

@smsavage32 "Find evidence"
Lukan Papyrus
"The Lukan papyrus, has been dated to the late 1st century or early 2nd century, so it could predates the John papyrus by 20-30 years. New research mentions a fragment from the book of Mark found among the Qumran scrolls (fragment 7Q5) showing that it was written sometime before 68 AD, so this manuscript could have been written, at the latest, within 35 years of Jesus' death; possibly earlier, and thus should be looked at AS CREDIBLE.

Now again I ask you, according to what evidence do you claim Paul created Christ or Christianity?
milkydud 3 months ago
@smsavage32 " ...find some evidence that shows that Paul didn't invent Christianity."
Ancient documents of biblical evidence, in particular the NT, Paul's letters are not our oldest documents.
P 52 is our oldest manuscript. Modern scholarship says it was written around 27 years from its original counterpart. This makes John 18:31-33,37-38 our oldest attested manuscript of new testament document.
P46, mainly a Pauline manuscript, has a time span of 150 years from its original counterpart.

Bible admits that Christ is Jesus' most common name when people speak of him,

Also, Jesus is the least common of his names and he was namely distinguished by the title of Christ.

Bible: a collection of books.

If he didn't, why did he admitt to "prescuting" them prior to preaching to them?
milkydud 4 months ago
@milkydud "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." John. (1 John 3:15 )
Hmmm... what do you make of this passage:
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." Jesus. (Luke 14:26)
smsavage32 4 months ago
@smsavage32 Luke 14:26

Christians do nothing BUT take passages out of context. The cherry pick only the verses they believe and leave the rest of the bible for the dump. They assemble their cherry picked verses together to make up whatever they want.
But, When someone points out one of those passages they they are ignoring, they scream

@smsavage32 "LUKE 14:26"
If the Bible is not the CONTEXT itself... what whould you like me to judge it text by?
Surrounding passages...
Luke 14:25 Jesus was in Peræa, and the people were availing themselves of this opportunity to see and hear Jesus when "LUKE 14:26" is said. Jesus made use of this striking statement that he might startle each hearer, and impress upon him the wide difference between a mere outward appearance upon him and a real, disciple-like adhesion to him.
milkydud 4 months ago
@milkydud "If the Bible is not the CONTEXT itself... "
If you are going to go with that, then you have to take into account that 75% of the bible is God killing people who do not grovel at his feet. Given that context, anything Jesus says about "love" is overpowered by all the hate that God dumps on humanity. Furthermore, if you believe in the trinity, then you must believe that Jesus did all that O.T. hating... but then when he got his mother pregnant, he had a change of heart.

In most cases, the stories have PEOPLE killing other people because God ordered them to. ( or at least they used "God" as a justification for their own violent tendencies .) But here is what gets REALLY interesting... how many people did Satan kill in those very same stories?

True... BUT you know what..... even when people used that authority to kill someone, according to the NT and the WHOLE bible, we are told "DO NOT KILL" in the OT & 10 commandments.
Love is the main objective.
milkydud 4 months ago
@milkydud "The Biblical use of this word ("hate") becomes clear when (you read the bible)
I would agree wholeheartedly. It is clearly defined by this passage.
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" 1 John 4:20

Romans 12:19
This is usually taken to mean, "but give room or space for wrath to spend itself." But as the context shows that the injunction is to leave vengeance to God, "wrath" here seems to mean, not the offense, which we are tempted to avenge, but the avenging wrath of God, which we are enjoined to await.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
