  • i'm listening fallout songs everyday. That's so great and nice :P

  • This game is better then skyrim and new vegas BECAUSE the atmosphere . Setting and music . The story , plot , backstory are all so PERFECT . The only game this gen i like more is mass effect 1

  • This shit cannot be compared with original soundtrack of Mark Morgan. Dislike.

  • Also, the Vault in New Vegas w/ the armory and the unique marksman carbine is MONEY! Not just b/c of items, but difficult level of play (I play on hardcore and very hard. very hard you do 50% dmg enemies do 150%) and very cool opponents. A vault ran over by ghouls, very dark cave to lead there, and very dark inside. Always hearing ghouls yell, scream, skitter about. Pretty freaking scary and fun journey to open the armory.

Hardcore mode is something that was an awesome addition too.

  • Other cool things in NV the FO3 crowd underappreciates (I love FO3 too tho):

--Being able to fire weapons via aiming in Iron sight. I LOVED this. I would play the game more like an FPS than a RPG a lot of the time. I used VATS sparingly.

--Guns instead of big guns and small guns.

--Very fun guns to use. Assault rifle, marksman carbine, etc. Good and more numerous weapon customization (but should be even better).

--Like FO3, good stories in the terminals. One has when both countries launched

  • @g0g0buffal0 Fallout 3 was more fun . The setting , atmosphere etc were better . BUT gameplay wise new vegas was better . Obviously because it was the same gameplay but expanded

  • People hate on New Vegas for its worse environment compared to FO3. And to a certain degree, I must agree. Fallout had a darker feel and there just seemed more to the places to explore as I roamed about. But New Vegas was much closer to fallout roots, and it should be appreciated how it shows the character of important organizations.

The relationships the player can have w/ NCR, Caesars Legion, the Brotherhood and more is very enlightening as far as the story is concerned. They are both good

  • @g0g0buffal0 I don't hate New Vegas . I just aknoledge Fallout 3 as the better game even though it has less content and isn't as long . The time i spent in it was more fun

  • I would stand around for long periods of time, just listening to the music, in the game that is.

  • i dont like nv, the sense of fallout almost vanished, the world is becoming modern once again, there are multiple curencies, plants grow wildly, more wild animals, pure water everywhere, a massive city with electricity, i just dont feel the apocalyspe anymore, the silnece, dirt, dead trees & sand for miles, ruins & leftovers along with abandoned places, i refuse to believe that nv is the follow up for one of the worlds greatest games, i dissapoint

  • @Wolfpatriot69

While I enjoyed New Vegas, I disliked its atmosphere for the reasons you did, and I find it ironic that New Vegas was given to us by, what, the remnants of Black Isle?

  • point lookout anyone?

  • This song just started playing in New Vegas, and I didn't even know the song had been kept. I am extremely happy.

  • This is pretty good but, it really doesn't fit the atmosphere of the game well enough. The menu music fits the post-apocalyptic atmosphere, and battle themes get you pumped.

This one is a bit depressing, but some of them sound almost happy.

Try replacing FO3's explore music with music from fallout 1 and 2. It makes the game much more atmospheric and scarier.

  • Best Game Ever!!!!! im gonna play fallout 3 again because new vegas broke my heart

  • @TheWarOrphan That is true. Fallout New Vegas wasn't as good as it sounds. there is no after story free roam (in any possible way), the land is a little box compared to the capital wasteland's huge exploration, and it has an even worse story line. The companions don't seem as good as Fallout 3 and they took the best people away!

  • @FamePudding52 Not to mention How much life there is... In fallout 3 it made you feel Alone.. not on new vegas...

  • @odkingmat well, it makes sense, really. Mr. House destroyed the nukes that were headed to Vegas, so things prospered. also, people would obviously want to travel to a paradise when the rest of the world is shit. but it was bad idea to base a Fallout game there, because it's supposed to be a story of humanity, survival and war. new Vegas only had the war.

  • @meatloafswooshbear1 Fallout 2 was actually about rebuilding and learning from humanity's mistakes. Fallout 1 did have a much better atmosphere than 2 however

  • @FamePudding52 are you kidding? companions were WAY better in new vegas. they had a personality, a story, an opinion and it was actually possible to befriend them. no disrespect, but Fallout 3 lacked all of that. the closest thing to a story the companions had was Fawkes being a smart Super Mutant and looking though old terminal entries to learn stuff. I am with you on the game-ending thing, though, but i can see why they couldn't continue the story.

  • Comment removed

  • @meatloafswooshbear1 Story? that's true :-P (My favorite companions Boone. he has the best story)

  • @FamePudding52 And they're relateable (to a certain degree, i'm pretty sure none of us have a family that is actually a technology-hoarding organization that lives in a bunker surrounded by sand storms and is comprised of laser-wielding, mech-armor wearing people...yet)

  • @meatloafswooshbear1 Mine is.

  • @FamePudding52 Lucky bastard,

  • @meatloafswooshbear1 I think the atmosphere of fallout 3 was more fitting more a fallout story line, but new Vegas had more content. Both were great games.

  • @TheWarOrphan feel the same way; fallout new vegas had no soul or atmosphere whatsoever and felt nothing for it. Nothing can duplicate that special feeling when you step out of the vault for the first time... aaaah good times ^.^

  • @trams33 Is it the RPG, the variety of guns, the vast wasteland, the best music around, the gameplay, the experience, the simulation, the great story, the many locations, the enemies, the plot, the quests, the drama, the consequences, the partners, the way this game gets to you, how you always connect to the game, how the DLC's tell a whole new story, the guilt, the pain, the sadness, the relief, the good, the evil, the ways of survival, or the set-up that makes this game different to others?

  • there's just something about this game that's so different from others.

  • 2:43 If there were a professionally made video about the wasteland with this music, I bet this part would have a wanderer finally give out and collapse from thirst and starvation.

  • Anyone else on this song as part of the Fallout Equestria playlist?

  • @Revanche174 Not via Equestria playlist, although I'm creating a playlist of Fallout explore-music, myself, at the moment.

  • The DC area is amazing...but just something about the wastes...It's the perfect survival atmosphere.

  • i think this game is the best because it simply just hits peoples heart and emotion

  • All of the Explore music fits Texas in summer really well.

  • *walking along the wastes* spot super mutant overlord *shit* duck into stealth, activate chinese stealth armor [Hidden] *equips gauss rifle* aims down sight *boom!* missed [DANGER] *shit!*
  • All the Fallout games have a very deep meaning...they show where humanity is headed. And it's true. Materialism, money and consumerism will destroy the world. And only then, staring in the wasteland he has created, man will realize his mistakes and finally understand that all these years he was living in a lie he called reality and from there on, he will try to make the best for himself and help those in need. But you can't take back destruction. The music truly captures this meaning...

  • Fantastic atmosphere, but did anyone notice how the mood of the game changes as you progress towards the end? What was once a deadly encounter with raiders is now almost comical...whereas you once walked for long periods of time you now fast travel...you no longer have to worry about supplies...it's all still great fun, but the true mood of the game is only present when you're weak. It's a game about human weakness after all.

  • @FeelingFreshSon Actually I only use fast-travel when I'm mainquesting, cuz it's boring to find all sorts of new places and then go there and woops then you forget about the main quest as you found super-cool dungeon which you'll want to explore.

While I'm just strolling, exploring the wasteland for fun, I always walk. That way you find a lot more loot and enemies to kill in the name of humanity.

  • @FeelingFreshSon I know, at first I found this game extreamly hard, and raiders were a threat to me, but at the end like you said, they're just comical, killing raiders at the end were mostly for fun, now deathclaws are another story... I have to say the progression in this game is really what kept me playing.

  • @FeelingFreshSon omg, you hit the nail on the head

  • @FeelingFreshSon I still like to walk everywhere at level 30 but you are very right about the other things. Exploring the super duper mart for the first time was about sneaking around, trying not to alert all of the raiders at once. When you're level 30 you just go in and vapourise them without losing a bar of health

  • @FeelingFreshSon

You can always play on Very Hard difficulty.

  • @dracosummoner

I dunno, lots of people still found that difficulty too easy. You're pretty much broken once you get grim reapers sprint. Of course, you could just limit yourself by picking terrible perks.

  • @FeelingFreshSon yea, the only things that are still threatening once you've maxed out are the deathclaws, mirelurks, and super mutant behemoths. Even enclave troopers are tame, especially if you have Falkes.

  • @dracosummoner But Very hard difficulty is SO EASY,and I do not use the vats mode, and I pick a character with 1 in strength 1 in endurance, the rest spreads to Charisma,Intellect and Agility,I do not raise to 10,but to 8 or 9(and the rest I either put in luck,or had a friendly 1 in STR or END),since there are always Extra point in the game...and my character can win everything...and it feels too easy...

  • @FeelingFreshSon That is the bad side of games of this kind...you do not FEEL the wasteland hard enough. In the old game, you kinda always felt it,if you choose from the start to be a character of Charisma and intellect, and play it on hard...it will be VERY VERY hard.

If you take the Charisma and intellect in fallout 3 on very hard...it's easy-you can be smart AND powerful with no problem really...and that's disturbing to have 1 in strength and be able to carry a Fat man and use it easly =P.

  • @Wharwulif

wow I can't believe that comment I left got so many replies, anyway, if you've played new vegas they tried to fix some of that stuff. But then they broke other stuff...FAIL

  • @FeelingFreshSon You are right...the entire "survival mode" was a shame, since you can find water and food at every second corner...hack,I think I had 30 bottles on me and a stash of another 70 bottles on my companions...has for the food...WHATA FART of allot.

Also, the inventory and weight system is wrong,it's just stupid to be able to carry all those stuff-you got no real place to put it.It would have been more interesting if you had to pick everything Carefully...such a thing turns a game epic.

  • @FeelingFreshSon Well you grow stronger, that's whats cool about RPGs. At first you're a weak little thing, but you gain more and more badassery about time.

  • @FeelingFreshSon Fallout 3 is my favourite game of all time. I totally agree with you.

  • @FeelingFreshSon Feel free to whack the stats up of enemies with the Fallout 3 GECK if ur on the PC version, thats what I did, it restores the intended theme of the game

  • Anyone know how to get hold of the whole high quality fallout 3 score?

  • who disliked this. we must find this imbecile!

  • @SupremeEffectness (Lowers xuanlong assault rifle) Ahh let him/her go and save your ammo my friend, they'll only starve to death in the wastes all alone anyway...the poor deluded fool haha!

  • @SupremeEffectness he disliked it BECAUSE everybody else likes it. a weak attempt at being non-conformist. but he still conforms by being on youtube, and rating videos. he is an imbecile, but for more reasons than you even know. :)

  • @peytongonavy then im an imbecile, because i dont like things that other people like. But i try to live with it

  • @SupremeEffectness and fucking shoot his ass with an experimental mirv!

  • @SupremeEffectness Must have died in the wasteland lol

  • @LadyXenoAcid no the game didnt like him and made an albino radscorpian behind him without turning combat music on

  • @TheAuzze Lulz

  • What I do is go over with Dogmeat and Fawkes and i look into the endless wasteland thinking....

  • Im waiting for Fallout in 2012 xD

  • @NicolaScorpion7000 Yeh. Hopefully we WON'T have our own "real" wasteland to explore by the time it comes out in 2012. xD

  • The heat is unbearable. Your feet are tired. Your entire body feels like it's going to collapse at any minute. You have just drank your last water, and feel as though all is lost. But in the distance, you see a small settlement. Knowing there will be shelter there, your motivation is renewed. But also in the distance, you spot a band of Raiders, hungry for battle and slaughter. You tighten your grip around your rifle.

    "Bring it on."

  • I wander the wasteland, with my rifle in my hands and dogmeat at my side, it's becoming dark i cannot linger. Dogmeat senses something nearby, i look up and all i can see is the shape of something in the distance. It starts to come closer and closer, then without warning it starts to charge. I soon realise ive stumbled across a deathclaw, i signal for dogmeat to attack, i try to compose myself as i line up the perfect shot, The deathclaw turns to me, i pull the trigger......

  • There should be more games like this

  • The best i have play since the old old old x-box - ps days but im talking about any game from the past... This one is the best and every game that has come out since after 08 that is a RPG this is the only one i truly love and ALWAYS WILL...

Not even Fallout NV has had any thing on Fallout 3 at allll!!!!

    Long Live FALLOUT 3!!!!!!!

  • @vTHExUNKNOWENv I agree , but NW is great in its own ways , NW improved the questing and storyline by a long shot

  • This allways makes me think of piles of cars and radioactive barrels everywhere and skelitons everywhere, broken highways and brown trees...

  • @odkingmat *grey trees* lol

  • We could try to tie in with the current popularity of the Tron franchise and try a really cool movie on the Shadowrun environ. You have everything there, including the post apocalyptic feel. Magic has reemerged, and the Native Americans have kicked people out for about half of the US territory if I recall. Shadowrun is heavily inspired in Neuromancer, and Neuromancer's William Gibson said he thought of Tron when he pictured his Cyberspace.

  • This is beyound dought, my fav track of Fallout 3.

Scouring the wasteland with this Tribal inspired track is fantastic.

One thing i failed to see in Fallout 3 is Tribals.

The landscape is perfect for them yet no tribal clans...

Im sad to not see this.

I will create my own then and host it on Fallout3nexus.

Fuck I love this track, I got it on my phone as a mp3 track..

    Teletubbies!!

  • @ZombieEyeBall If you think deeply, Inon Zur is himself "tribal": He is Israeli. Who is to say tribals need to be people living in reservations running casinos? Tribalism is form of social cohesion that's only allowed in our society to the dispossessed. People love African societies yet hate the Japanese.

But I'll give you that: People living in tribal lifestyle today might be the ones faring best in a Fallout scenario. We could end up with some serious Cherokee resurgence or something.

  • This soundtrack is better than game itself.

  • reminds of walkin near the river by the superduper mart

  • I'm listening to these soundtracks whilst waiting for my fallout: New vegas game to load, It seems to have crashed yet again. Such a shame. The lagging and constant waiting for loading was never this bad in fallout 3.

  • The contrast between this and the happy GNR station was so big, it was suddenly actually very scary to go out at night and hoping not to get buttfucked by some radscorpion.

  • me palying fallout 3 what is that ``zoom whit gauss rifle`` dah feral ghoul piece of cake i kill the feral ghoul whit gauss rifle turn around WTFOMG REAVER ``dead``

  • Why do I not live in the fallout universe?!

  • @MjolnerBane Most people would agree that isn't exactly something to wish for. ;)

  • @MjolnerBane but you do. everytime you plug in, you are there.

now, if you wanted to live in an actual post apocalyptic world... only one word for you: toothless.

    no dentists, no teeth.

  • @Eikinkloster That's not so certain, because I wouldn't eat as much sugery products ;P + I´ll just drink som radiactive water and all the bacteria will go away (y)

  • @MjolnerBane :-) or you'd end with giant mutant bacteria eating your teeth even faster!

  • This reminds me when i first walked out of the vault, being blinded by the sun, and seeing the capitol building and Washington Monument in the distance, walking into the radioactive capital wasteland.

  • @WolverinesFan5051 u mean this? watch?v=ifGiqPD3QLA

  • Comment removed

  • Just like in the 7th explore soundtrack- the melody at 1:49 is almost coaxing you to go on.

  • i sure hope so that new vegas will have similiar soundtrack

  • 3:03 ! XO Amazing!

  • 2:03 epic Part!

  • this song wuld be the best for llooking at the mountains and valleys and awesome landscape of this world we haveee

  • THE DISLIKER IS AN ENCLAVE SOLDIER! GET THEM!

  • no lets call the brotherhood and take care of him :-D

  • holly shit... this whistle thing on 3:04 nails it.

  • @neomilem AGREED!

  • were can i get these songs

  • I love this game - the ambiance is the best part... and the music is the capstone of that ambiance...

  • I don't know if its just me.But I would rather test my luck out in the hard wasteland.Than to be kept in damn volt all my life.

  • fallout 3's soundtrack is simpily Beautiful and a work of art.

  • EPICNESS

  • is that enclave I see in the distance through the scope of my reservist's rifle?

  • Comment removed

  • love it, the chinese touch makes it beautiful... perfect for exploration

  • I cant agree anymore

  • Towards the end (3:00 or so) it sounds elegant, even beautiful. It almost makes you forget that it's a wasteland.

  • love this game and the add-ons, its just the best game iv ever played

  • exiting the vault for the first time is an unforgettable experience......

  • One non-Fallout related track which could be used in-game is "Dials and Dialers 2", by the Black Dog. The quiet machine sounds at the start could be used for exploring abandoned warehouses, and the tail end, which utilises a sinister-sounding burst of muted harmonica could be used, say, for an eerie scene in Point Lookout. Have a listen :)

  • Lol, its very wild west-ish this one, i like it!

  • 2:03

    I see Tennpenny Tower!

  • oh my- that statement... its happens every time to me!!!! makes me wanna cry cause I dont have a 360 anymore.

  • in the days of old the sky was blue and trees where green all gone now just smoke dust and rubble all gone....

  • the part at 1:50 makes you wonder what would you do if this actually happened to our world. where would you go, how would you survive...

  • Watching... Watching... Watching the dead, isolated, lifeless wasteland... Or maybe not? Im roaming around, what can i find? Its the Capital. Looking for my dad. Its up to me to make solutions.... or trouble. Its a Quest. My choice, My decisions. I keep walking, roaming, keep walking.... walking...

  • did you like comment on every video in character you must really love that game!

  • Actually I do lol. I was Just expressing how I pretty much felt and what I was seeing when I was listening to the songs.

  • this is just wasteland music its not waves its wind.. :\

  • I think this is the music in Point Lookout, i don't own that yet cause im getting the GOTY, anyhow you can hear the waves sliding onto the sand at the beach.

  • You'll love Point Lookout , its awesome just beware the natives are strong

  • Man, those hillbillies must've been inbreeding for decades--that combined with radioactive fallout has so corrupted their DNA it's made their skin as thick as kevlar!! They remind me of the original "Hills Have Eyes" movie...PAPA JUPITER!!

  • This song kinda reminds me of traditional japanese music :3

  • Yeah, feels like your in the Wasteland, just so awesome and with strong emotion best background music ever ^_^ anyone agree?

  • thats what they were aiming for, i mean everytime i play oblivion the music sucks compared to fallouts bg music and the actual feeling of the landscape, the creatures, but most of all, the friends you make in your travels.

  • lol agreed :)

  • @numb1gxfan absolutely!

  • @numb1gxfan I agree! : )

  • @numb1gxfan

    Very True and well said

  • @vTHExUNKNOWENv yepp :3 Fallout 3 is amazing <3

  • inon will deliver.

    expect him

  • He made the soundtrack for Crysis too, so no wonder he pulls out these great songs.

  • This track is definately one of the best and truly captures the pensive emotions of the game; with its sweeping lamentations and sudden mood shifts, conveying the bitter reality of life in the wastes. For sure, it's one of my faves.

  • Very poetic, but remember where you are ^_^ This is Youtube.

  • Thank you, I tend to get a little heavy with this kind of stuff; ;) not the wisest choice on the internet though.

  • Why not? It is wise, as you show you like to convey your feelings and beliefs directly, without being influenced by other people's impressions. A wise man is, amongst others, a man that doesn't hide behind a veil of false appearances, but decides to show what he truly is. After all, you're the master of what you do and what you are, not the others.

  • Well spoken, thank you for that.

  • dude.....you have the best wording and sentances

    i respect you for that!

  • Inon Zur did crysis aswell, but thats his only work on iTunes for the time being.

  • I love 3:07-3:38. I always picture the main character looking out in the distance from some big rock or the top of a building wondering about the world before the bombs and all that happened in the wastes of the world after that.

  • this song sounds so sad (in a good way), heck it came upe when dogmeat got killed in my game :(

  • I'd say the oriental feel to this is in memory/reference of all the Chinese who died in the war

  • Anyone else reminded of Steve Roach?

Inon Zur is a genius by the way.

  • well i just came.

  • Totally love Inon's creative idea to blend multiple cultural instruments!

Some of these themes can go beyond than just Fallout. This theme is a good example.

The oriental wind instrument at 2:47 TURNS ME ON!

  • This is my favorite wasteland exploration music.

  • I'm surprised to see no one mention 1:49 - 2:15

Whenever that comes up i always look up at the sky wondering whats going to happen next.

If only i could whistle i would so whistle along that part every time.

  • a lot of these exploring songs have an Australian feel to it and Chinese feel. Makes sense since both are important to the story.

  • australia was important in this?...how? id like to know cos im aussie lol :D

  • They are involved with the nuclear war. not in a bad way but were part of the oil fight on who was going to get the oil in Alaska Anchorage werent they?

  • oh ok kool, i havnt played opertaion anchorage so i wouldnt know, but thnx btw

  • basically, its who had ownership over Alaska.

  • 2:46-3:03

  • Seems like it has an oriental feel to it.

  • In all the excitement over the 1930's-1940's music that was licensed for Fallout 3, I sincerely hope that no one, by chance, should happen to overlook Inon Zur's masterful compositions. Songs like this are ironically peaceful, tranquil, and soothing -- in a setting that's everything but.

  • @dracosummoner Yes, I must agree, Inon Zur does some beautiful work. All his sounds are tranquil and peaceful, yet is somehow discordant with the setting. He did Crysis, too - same thing, the peaceful music always starts when you are in a non-conflict, yet tense situation. I think it sort of prepares you for what's next, it eases your mind.

His Fallout 3 songs have a slight Arabic style. It's sublime, but it's there. From the start, I thought ofPrince of Persia palaces, by night.

  • @DevilDog016 the music is actually influenced by asian music, not arabian, in this tune you can hear some japanese instruments, like the shakuhachi

  • @Iceberqe A few instruments yes, most prominently the flute as you said, but the song's flow and overall sound reminds mostly of music I've seen in POP. It does have some Asian undertones, though.

  • @dracosummoner

I like his compositions very much. Fallout 3's ambient music even has a touch of Arabic style in it. It's subtle, but it's there. The first time, when I was at night on the broken highway, I thought about the abandoned and lonely palaces from Prince of Persia, perched on mountaintops and bathed in starlight.

  • @dracosummoner The fighting part of it isnt, but whenever I look at a Fallout 3 landscape (Not DC, The nothern Wasteland) It strangely, feels soothing and tranquil, this probably looks strange to you, but without hurry or rush, just pure freedom and just an empty oasis where ones thoughts are the only thing that accompany them. I love the feel of it. But ofcourse, when not looking at a picture and actually playing, the mutants change that, but I would think Inon looked at picture doing this.

  • @JustSomeRandomDude99

Oh, that's not strange at all! :-) Bethesda did a fantastic job of making even devastated and trashed environments look unexpectedly beautiful.

Please, Obsidian, PLEASE do a good job on New Vegas ... -_-

  • @dracosummoner Yeah, it's upto Obsidian now, I mean FO3 took more than 4 years, and it payed off, at just how big the game is and just how many wastelander stories the player can learn, the game tells many stories, mainly these stories just damage any hope wastelanders have left. But Obsidian now has to live up to thier masterpiece, but I'm not too worried, after all. Obsidian is a product of Interplay, who designed FO1 and FO2, I believe with the new engine, NVegas should be brilliant.

  • @JustSomeRandomDude99

I hope so. I did not like what I played of "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2," and I know people who did not like "Neverwinter Nights 2" or "Alpha Protocol" (Obsidian, Obsidian, Obsidian).

  • @dracosummoner Yeah, those are not good signs for NVegas, but Fallout is Obsidian's beggining and now they've been allowed to do NVegas, I'm hoping they will be somewhat back in thier element. Looking at previews and knowing that it's using FO3's engine, I'm more assured, But still fingers crossed... Fingers crossed...

  • @dracosummoner And plus, I'm sure I've seen on a site previewing NVegas, that it said - bethesda employee said: We've really enjoyed working with Obsidian, so hopefully, although bethesda have to work on other projects and cannot make NVegas, they've done a little work with Obsidian, and hopefully Obsidian - after doing work with Bethesda have picked up some tit-bits...

And one plus I'm really happy about is, I know Inon Zur is doing Nvegas's soundtrack.

  • without the engine of fallout 3 obsidian will have never made new vegas

  • @dracosummoner finally, someone understands- the music fits the game so well too, as if it's there to be ominous, but... somehow eerily beautiful. It demands respect. And it sort of reminds me of ancient Japanese music.
