  • i saw city boy two times in my hometown karlstad then 1978.marie sweden

  • I was into City Boy way b4 ELO...Dinner at the Ritz was on my stereo for years, in fact i wish it was rereleased and it wont need any touching up as it was a great sounding lp...take a walk on the water..very heavy very humble

  • Yes, this number actually sounds like ELO. Never thought of that. However, City Boy at its best has more nerve and intensity than ELO. To me its one of the greatest late 70'th bands.

  • Pleasant enough but sounds like an ELO b-side.

  • saw them live some 30 years ago with my best friend from school.

We still remember it as one of the best concerts EVER!

    What a night is was!

  • Check again. Renaissance Records has got all 7 of their albums out on CD now, and they are only $10 or so.

  • too the nicest girls out there..!!

  • Горячий привет Джеффу Линну,от группы City Boy!!!

  • i cant believe that such a talented band was aloud to just disappear into oblivion

the ability to write such class songs the guitar excellence &lyrical content was second to none please come back

  • This was the first City Boy song I heard.

I heard by accident while watching a top of the pops on youtube from 1978. I thought this was really catchy.

    So eventually i heard 5705.

Then I decided to go ahead and by the Anthology album. After listenin to the CD over and over again, i became hooked, and now own ALL the albums on CD

  • Sgillman16, you might not have their 7th album, which just came out on CD a week or two ago. It's Personal was just released by Renaissance Records.

  • Dont worry, I bought it as soon as it was released.!!

ive was waiting for 2 months for it before it was released.

  • Roy Ward (the drummer) is my grandad :):) so proud of him XD

  • You should be! :D

is there any video for the Narcissus song from

    Dinner at the Ritz ??

  • i can upload is you want

  • I love this music very much:-) It is so hard to find comparable musicians:-(

  • One of the best band to come out of birmingham class !

  • thanks SO MUCH!

  • Well just to share something you may or may not know, apart from the fact that the drummer (Roy Ward) is a mate of mine, he also provided the vocal for the popular version of 'Lion Sleeps Tonight', and before you say it, NO! 'Tight Fit' was just a frontband. Roy and chums recorded it whilst he was doing session work. He still gigs even now, and his voice is still one of the best you'll ever hear.

  • It would be great to get in touch with his daughter Anita as she was my best mate at school.

  • You are soooo right, Roy has the best voice ever, is an amazing musician, and the nicest guy you could ever wish to meet.

  • Good news for City Boy fans! The first four albums are due for re-release in August 2008! Don't miss this opportunity!

  • @Vaffanura cool, chris dunn's my dad by the way...sucks that they came out at the wrong time or they would of been ALOT bigger

  • City Boy is a mix between 10cc and ELO. I have all their albums on LPs but havent found them on CD . I really enjoy their music and I hope people will start posting more music from them here.

  • One of my Fav bands of all time...Thnx from bottom of my heart for posting this...Cheers! Happy Canada Day!

  • You can find most all of their albums on ebay.

    CD as well.

  • I agree the most underated band ever!! I'm one of the lucky ones, I have all their albumns inluding the last, its personal. A great band

  • Where I can get this last album ?

  • I used to have a crush on Steve Broughton too - actually he doesn't look that bad compared to when I see other crushes from the same era - anyone know where he is?

  • I deeply hope, they will come back once.

    City Boy's music still rocks...

  • i have a cd made in germany at beartracks, with the cityboy album "heads are roling".

superb music. talented guys. i wish them to be richer than paris hilton and britney spears together..

  • Well best of luck their my friend.but because they don't resemlbe models or rockstars they ahve no chance.talent means little today shame eh?

  • i do recall being turned on by steve broughton.

  • I got 'the day the world caught fire' from some family member back in 1979. I think I was mostly enamoured by the cover back then (I was 7). I seem to remember liking it, but I don't have a record player, haven't had one for a looong time, and I never get around to aquiring one. Been trying to get their stuff on cd for a while, but alas, no luck. So this is a great treat !

  • The most highly underrated band in the world. City Boy rocks. They're ELO meets The Beatles meets Little River Band. They should've been much bigger.

    Steve Broughton (Lundt) is incredible
