They're not the same band they were in 92 but I wouldn't say they're not in their prime. I catch them every time they come around. I'm going to go see them next weekend. They're not as insane on stage but the music has gotten really heavy. I don't mean that in terms of Metal guitar crunch. I mean it in terms of intensity. These guys have been playing for 25 years. They have the ability to transport you to another dimension.
I'm sure my story is similar to so many. I got my first tattoo in 1989 and it was a fishbone logo. 21 years later, it's the ringtone on my cell and a constant in my life. I don't know if they're the best and I don't care, they are fishbone and that's freakin cool!
The most under-rated band of all time! These cats are the most multi-talented, creative and innovative musicians/song writers/entertainers on the planet! Fuck the music industry for never giving these guys their fair shake and recognition! Long Live Fishbone!
I remember in 95 or 96 Fishbone played at the bar in downtown Indy and the lead singer jumped off the stage onto some tables and busted his ass...he got back up like nothing happened but I know that hurt. Great show....
they could have easily sold out, but this guyjust wants to have fun, you can tell. Look, how he struggles playing the theramin and the sax at the same time, I bet alot of people would not even attempt that
Are you kidding me, no-one else in the universe would even allow the thought of thinking about doing it to cross their minds before dismissing it, DO it, no way forget about it, only one man in the world could DO IT AND LOOK GOOD DOING IT.
I had an amazing time back in about 92/93, I went to see Primus at the Hollywood Palladium. Right before Primus came on, I looked over to see a freaky looking mofo in a purple and orange pinstripe suit carrying a cane with a clear skull at the top. It was Angelo Moore. He was shitfaced, and so was I. I hung out with him the entire show and he let me read poetry from a book he was getting ready to publish. Gotta love living in SoCal.
well, norwood plays too loud. i saw them live and all i could hear was his bass guitar. and the guy behind the mixing table told me afterwards that there was nothing he could do about it - his amp and the stage volume was simply too fucking loud. otherwise, great band. i still think that "truth and soul", their debut is a killer album.

wtf?! "makes the chili peppers sound like pussys" - are you fuckin crazy, chilis and fishbone don't even play the same genre, I don't know much about fishbone but I know RHCP are the best fukin' band ever :D
Actually the RHCP were HEAVILY influenced by fishbone, to say that they aren't even in the same genre is exceedingly ignorant. (RHCP's "Good Time Boys" even uses a sample of "Bonin' in the Boneyard") That said, you are right and saying that fishbone makes RHCP sound like pussies shows how much of a retard that guy is. :)
yes I know Fishbone had an influence in RHCP and just because of Good Time Boys I start looking for this song ^^ and this song is great but RHCP and Fishbone DOES NOT play the same genre, RHCP play everything from heavy metal to funk and Anthony said that in Good Time Boys music video so you should now and Fishbone plays just funk so its not same its simillar but saying RHCP (the band who influenced in much other bands and have made so many great songs) sounds like a pussys that is realy gay :)
I guess it depends what genre you put RHCP in then, while they are definitely more varied than Fishbone i would still classify them as more of a funk style band if for no other reason than the fact that Flea's basslines definitely fit more into the category of funk than anything else.
Don't get me wrong, I love Fishbone and RHCP. If they aren't closely related musically (ie in the same genre) then i would at the very least say they are very close leaves on the same tree. ;-)
yes I know just what you mean, I put RHCP in funk genre too but when you compare Fishbone and RHCP you can't say its same but its very close, peace bro
omg man I said fishbone had a great influence in RHCP, I know alot about RHCP and I learned alot from Scar Tissue book so I've done my homework my friend :)
you people just don't KNOW! this is one of the absloute greatest bands you will EVER see EVER.I've seen them over a dozen times in 20 years and they are still the best live show EVER!
too true dude,im constantley amazed how good live they are, seen them a dozen times and not only are they great but ever gig they do is totally different from the last one.man wish everyday was a sunless saturday
Great performance. Video and Sound is absolutely atrocious. I couldn't do enough drugs to enjoy this video, and I've seen Fishbone quite a few times.
On a scale of 1 to Paris Hilton this video sucks more...maybe that's a good thing. Nothing against the band. The sound was deplorable. How could anyone rate this 5 stars. Perfomance is one thing. Presentation is another.
Chris Dowd from the original line up has a new band with new music on youtube. Look up Ultra Infidels Sampler Platter.
