Hey Elad. Nice work bro. I am a college student who is making short film with is some friends, and was interested to know if there is any free software for animation for beginner's that I can use. My knowledge in zero in animation. Guide me if you can, it will be of great help.

@Luckysayshello As a college student, you can get a free license of Maya 2012 or 3D Studio Max, both really great animation packages. They take a bit of work to learn but they are the same tools professionals like me use.

As for how much I spent, it was in the thousands of dollars and that was low for the amount of work (mainly because a bunch of people did me favors).

This is brilliant. If I'm right, it's running at at least 24 or 25 frames a second? Nothing less will do! I've done a few stop motion tests on my channel. Only starting out. My latest is called 'Writhe' - very different to this, but have a wee look if you have time, people!

@ShaneMcD77 I use to do stop motion back in the 80's with my JVC cam, they used tape then which allowed for stop animation, I use to press the rec button on and off real fast, make my adjustments to my figures and go again. Today with digital cameras, you can't do that, if you press start and stop and then try it again it starts a new and seperate frame instead of one continuous one like my old camera. Just wondering how they do it today, software? special cameras?

@Allanlegacy43 I was the other way round - in the 90s, I used to make stop motion films on video but they weren't great because they took more than one frame at a time. I had the same problem with my first digital video but, unlike you describe, I could just pause and restart for one continuous clip. It's only now that I'm finally happy with the results. You can take one frame at a time and put it together on computer. It's surprisingly simple. Check out the few rough tests on my channel!
