  • PLEASE VIEW THIS PLAYLIST ITS COOL

  • im so sorry im really knew to this game just a week in, and im finnaly done builduing and starting to paint, could u please explain the term dry brushing and cleaning?

  • @KaiserPotatoe95 Well Dry brushing is where you wipe most of the paint off your brush so it is almost 'dry' and then you lightly brush over an area and it it will just paint the raised areas. it can also be used on smooth area to give a 'scratchy' kind of look. Its best done with an old brush that has thick hairs. I'm not sure what you mean by cleaning?? there isn't a technique called that its just something you do when you have finished painting :)

  • any way to fix it up if you accidentally paint into the gaps of the armor?

  • @wazcrack169 you could use a very fine brush and re-paint in the gaps? a steady hand helps a lot. :)

  • highlights seem a little strong

  • Do you always need to spray the model when basecoating? How should I do if dont have any spray? Can I basecoat with normal paint, like chaos black, all over the model?

  • @Kristofferr1 Id really recommend a base coat as the paint doesn't stick very well to bare plastic, and I would recommend using a spray as it gives a very thin even layer but with a brush it can end up lumpy and spoil the finish. you can use any acrylic spray paint which you can pick up for around £5 in hobby or DIY stores. Plus I always use white (unless the model is mostly black) as you have to paint a few layers on black as it shows through.

  • @gmodertom Thanks! :D

  • Year 8 :D

  • @idesignandcreate seems so long ago...

  • Great work, seriously.

  • Ive never been able to find out how to add that color fading effect. Thanks for the tip!

  • so could you do the blue/grey with any color contrasts? like red, green, purple?

  • These look great. Nice job!

  • wow those look great! Simple yet very detailed! At first I was a bit turned off and didn't think that highly of the paint job, but after seeing the finished product and the other in comparison, wow - you do amazing work!

  • @Northwoods92 Thanks :)

  • WOW!!!! You paint like a Epic Duck master!!! Compare to my models, they aren't even close as being good as your!!! Keep up the good work and try to post one of painting a Space Marine.

  • why wouldnt you actually paint all the black areas that you just drybrushed

  • what sept worls is this it isnt the brown 1

  • I don't know much about tau, but the paint job is amazing!!

  • good job

  • @gmodertom in other words not the best (well compared to me but I spend ages painting the simplest models just so every detail is perfect)

  • @iexistjusttopeeveyou ok thanks for the positive comment :| this is not one of my best models by far, this is a simple technique to get a large number painted. I have some other models that are far better than this.

  • @gmodertom its okay but it's kinda simple paint style and the armour edge paint was a bit wavy (if you know what I mean) also you could paint the eye the colour you did then use the varnish paint which will make it seem like a proper futuristic eye piece as it should

  • maaaaan you're talented! awsome painting man! really!

  • I hope I will be able to paint my models to look as nice as yours.

  • its not a xv25 battlesuit its a stealthsuit

  • @bacara321 ...a stealthsuit is a type of battlesuit.

  • How do you base coat the entire model so well?

  • @Mr12toe Spray Paint

  • @gmodertom I know you used spreay paint... but what did you do it get the paint so even over the model? Do you put it in like a box, and spray it? Or hold the model with your hand (with gloves on) and spray it?

  • @Mr12toe Spray*

  • @Mr12toe just spray from a distance and use very light sprays, you hardly need any paint on a undercoat. I turn the model round to make sure everywhere is coated. I also sometimes put the model on its side and spray underneath and on top of the model. you only really need to do this on larger models though.

  • thats super! can you make an Tau Firewarrior tutorial too?

  • I have never played with the models before ,but I have played the game, please tell me, do you have to glue the parts together or do they snap or click onto eachother.

    Thanks in advance! :)

  • @AccountProto5X you need to glue them, for the pastic ones you use the plastic glue which sort of melts the plastic into each other, and for metal you can use super glue or epoxy works much better in my opinion. with the plastic glue you only need a tiny dab and leave it to set for a few mins and it should just tack on easily metal ones however require something to prop them while they dry as super glue and epoxy take longer to set.

  • @AccountProto5X the models in the beginner box are click together but otherwise u need glue

  • thats a really smooth undercoat which spray paint do u use?

  • @ThatHackable It was the Games Workshop Chaos Black spray, Just be very light with the spray, spray from a distance of about 30cm and do a very light coat it doesent matter if some of it is not full coated it should still paint easily as long as there is a fine layer, I rotate the model to and spray 'underneath' it to make sure its mostly coated.

  • Wow, i can't paint inside i have to do it at a window, somewhere i can get natural light.

  • nice nails...

  • wow, you're awesome at painting 40k, and by the sound of it, you're a youngling, keep it up, youve got talent :0

  • it is easier if u just paint all over then ink!!!!!!!

  • can someone tell me how to remove all the paint from the model

  • @jayscreamin remove paint? that would be pretty hard you could use a paint thinner or something but that would most likely damage the model underneath

  • @jayscreamin If it's a metal miniature you can use white spirit which should do something otherwise get a new model

  • @jayscreamin sock the minis in brakefluid from walmart or something

  • @jayscreamin if its metal carefully use acetone,

if its plastic, there is something that will help without killing (actually melting) the model, but i forgot witch one it was :P

  • @jayscreamin brake fluid

  • @jayscreamin Simple green. soke the model for about 5 to 10 hours in it and then take a tooth brush and just scrub it down.

  • @jayscreamin if the model is metal you can clean it of with alcohol ( i use the standard nail polish remover) whreas plastics are better left for a couple of hours in break fluid (it's Dot 3 or Dot4) the paint is easily removed and the figure is left unharmed

  • @jayscreamin

I hear break fluid works well, and doesn't even take the glue off

  • @jayscreamin PInesol, or any cleaning floor cleaning agents works nicely.

  • maybe to much drybrush :P

    try to draw lines instead

  • Your paintjob is amazing, and great to see a brit posting this kinda thing!

  • stop saying, "our next stage is..."

it annoys me and makes me not want to watch your video.

although your really good at painting.

  • I miss having money... my Warhammer collection is virtually nonexistant and so is the money in my wallet.

  • good job mate but a nice trick in under coating the model with grey easier, paint it all over even in the groves. Then use baddab black wash and it will take care of it for you but doing it the way you did it is the best. Though when painting an entire army might be quicker to use the wash

  • @redzor812 ye i tend to concentrate on detail so i never get many painted :)

  • dude ur awesome at painting tau im an ork collector ind im thinking of starting with tau what would you recomend i got first exept the codex ? please message back

  • @TheGamesfreak101 thanks, well its been a long time since ive painted warhammer year infact ;) but from what i can remember id start off with a box of the tau warriors, some of the xv25 shown in the vid and one of the commanders.

  • @gmodertom thanks crnt wait to start collecting tau! ;D

  • I'd quite like to paint one of these.

I'd paint one foot, and one leg exactly the same style as I did the base, biwht blue lightning-y stuff around where the base's colours meet the battlesuit's colours. Make it look like it's cloak's coming on.

  • Gratz man really cool paintjob! 5 star! And if you can pls sub me back

  • thats good lot better than my crimson fists

  • it is very important not to paint the gaps especially if you just want your armies on the table, not to mention it could save you paint if you have a limited supply

  • ALI G!!!!!!!!!!!!

    To Paint Mee Armor!

  • okay dudes hes from britain like me thats why he sounds young are you tom like when i speak in my videos i sound like i'm 4 when i don't put a deeper accent on and sick painting : )

  • nicely painted and told

  • i dont know if its any help, but i usually paint mine before i put them together, much much easier.

  • Dude you sound pretty young and are massivly talented! You will go far! And british too! Wooop!

  • @tomaslenton Britain FTW!

  • nice vid tom chunky chicken

  • Great paintin and video bro

  • THANK YOU - my army is sa'cea and i didnt know what to do with my stealths colours, can you do a commander for me?

  • @JackdaRipper36 I dont have a commander, which one do you mean, the battlesuit commander? if it is thats painted very similar to in the video :)

  • @gmodertom hey is the arcyleric paint (dont know how to spell it) a good paint for painting GW army figures ??

  • @fyerfyer1 I think so, the GW paint is acrylic i think (thats how you spell it :D)

  • Chink Chink

  • and the "gaps"are called crevasses just for you to know ^^

  • great painting m8 i used to do tau but i switched back to sm but i am goin to go back to the empire

  • as you can see ...as you can see......as you can see lol

  • my god your hands are tiny

  • you eagle eye retard concentrate on the vid man not the size of someones hands

  • My eyes are Pretty amazing.

    Thanks for the compliment friend.

  • well hes like 4, lol

  • leave him alone!

at least hes got the brains to post a vid that helped me alot, and even if he is 4 i bet he can paint alot better than you can!

  • just a quick fact that marking is not its clan that is its sept colour or aka there homeworld marking colour so yea

  • THIS YOUR PAAAAINTS

  • Or thin them

  • Good video and paint job but this isnt really a tutorial if your not showing us how to do it.

  • nice

  • nice paint job well done

  • Im gona do this colour scheme on mine Looks nice

  • good job man gratz on your 59k views

  • I've only had the Tau codex for 2 days but Tau are awsom. My first army was chaos marinines but i need a cheaper army

  • @priceyfyi what colour scheme are you going to use because im looking for one i can do

  • use the yellow colours scheme

  • i dont wanna do the yellow one =/

  • wish i could paint lik that

  • nice job! can you do a vid on painting normal fire warriors because im going to use this colour scheme for my new tau army im going to start because it looks sik! cheers.

  • can i paint tau revell colors?

  • you keep asking that in alot of videos. try it see if you like it.

  • ok yes bad video i know that but can somebody answer on my question pleaaaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • ive um well um...um well you see um

good video work on public speaking

  • can i paint tau army with revell colors?

  • My interpretation is that Crisis Suits and Stealth Suits are just types of Battlesuit.

  • yes thats correct

  • its XV25 STEALH SUIT

  • Really nice paint job!

Are the Tau army hard to paint?

  • if u want to do the camo on vehicles yes

  • no not really, unless u wana be like me and spent 2 hour! on a fire warrior shas'ui

  • not realy and personally i dont think camo painting is hard i use painters tape cutting em out and the marking of a little area were i want 1 colour for the camo

  • nice paint job. damn limey. haha

  • what color do you think I should highlight Blood Red with? I don't need a specific color or not I just want to know if its lighter or darker, and GREAT VID

  • how do you make the base

  • you just brush some white glue on top of the base and sprinkle sand over it, then you can paint it how ever you like and then glue some grass on for detail

  • yeah i get some pva, and dip it in sand, just paint on the pva with an old brush and dip it, if you dont have pva gloss varnish is an expensive alternative but it works, pva is best

  • I would drybrush the space wolves/shadow grey mix, not just paint the highlights.

  • thats a stealth team not a battle suit

  • it's a stealthsuit. technically, it's both.

  • In the codex it says " Stealth armour: The team members' battlesuits grant them...." So i think that's what he's getting at.... Agreed?

  • Hey! thats great scheme! and finally learned how to paint like that ;)

btw: That scheme works realy good for the space marines!

  • can you show the base pls <@:~)

  • cool man but if your makin lots of those guys u can just ink the shadow grey to fill in the gaps.

  • serioesly i feel like such an amatuer now i thot i was h-core when i painted my first space marine

  • mee too like seriously

  • fantastic video matie

  • nicely done

  • o yes now i know for sure it is tau xv25 stealth team

  • i dont want to come over annoying or sometin but arent that stealth suits?

  • dude great video. but i have one question... what would you do if you accedintaly paint in the gaps. would you do coat of chaos black over then paint it or anyone. i want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • I'd just paint over the gaps in, maybe with a fine detail brush.

  • best painting vid for tau

  • Over all a great video. 1 thing I never get with these battle suites is why they have gun stabilisers on their backs... or maybe they are just "screws" as you called them =P

  • also dude, you can mix all of the colors with a dab of skull white, paint in tee cracks and then use badaub black wash

  • Done well - Great tut, next one get some actual painting in to show people brush tech and stuff.

    Nice

  • i think this is really good video

  • Great tutorial, good camera too, you need a good camera to show how to paint so well done.

  • i play fantasy and my army has a bright scheme to it and alot of colours, seriously they are a pain to paint and take ages, in the near future when i begin my 40k army its gonna have a basic, dark, simplistic colour scheme consisting of only a few colours that way they look really clean and dont take long to paint.

  • Very nice vid. I've done some stealth suits myself, in the same colours (got to love Sa'cea Sept :P) and it took me a whole lot longer then you.

That's maybe because I wanted the 'stealth field shimmer' effect, so I needed to paint a bit more carefull, I guess.

    Anyway, keep the painting up!

    For the Greater Good!

  • i got the sa'cea sept and a sa'cea ethereal but i didnt have the right colours so i painted my stealth red

  • kool i didnt realise that painting the edges a different colour could add such a good effect! one thing, tho i didnt like the gold screws, they should be based with boltgun metal and highlighted with chainmail. Skillful painting tho!

  • could you make an speedpainting

  • I Always Stuff Up My Dam gunner drones

  • very nice, you wouldn't expect this high quality from a home movie, check out jawaballs, he is an actual artist and this is a close second

  • not bad

  • Very nice.

  • mint figures

  • very impressive vid

  • nice tut man. good techniques too. and its informative.

  • I'm really impressed with that vid and such a simple way of creating a great effect too! Bravo!

  • battle suit i tought it was *stealth*

  • It's officially listed as a battle suit, although in reality it's a stealth suit.

  • Indeed, both Crisis Suits and Stealth Suits are battlesuits. :)

  • very good; i use to do all the drybrushing before the "clean" painting cause the more area you cover with your drybrush the more it's gonna look even; on the downhand, you screw up many parts that don't need to be drybrushed, so just do the brushing first and then clean up the model afterwards.

  • I do not drybrush them so much, but paint over the gabs with codex gray and a little watter. When dry again, I use a 0.25mm pigment fineliner and make the gaps perfect black again.

Ok the fineliner is a little cheating, but it works great!

  • shouldnt use fusions on these units

  • I think a single fusion gun, although it might never actually get fired, serves as an effective anti-vehicle deterrent when positioned well.

  • Vs IG I allways use 2 fusioncannons and 4 pulsecannons in one team. You can kill a transporter and then hit so many guardsmen, that they panic if you are lucky.

  • That's a very good fast way to paint a lot of Tau. Quick and straightforward.

  • why not paint the gaps with the first gray then paint the gaps with the black again. it would probably save some time

  • with the grey under the black it makes the black lighter

  • awesome tutorial and great quality please make more vids

  • I will try and make some more one day

  • awesome video but you know for the beginning the whole not painting the gaps well that takes way too much time a better way would be ink wash it with black ink, it will givew a much better effect and the end result will be better. but still awesome video!

  • Hey great vid. I used the same technique and steps but I thought I'd add a bit more blue to the armor, because I thought it needed just a bit more colour. Anyway, great vid, thanks again!

  • looks like we got ourselves a tau expert keep going mate

  • ty ;P

  • please do.

I just started a tau force, and there isn't much on painting tau out there. particularly vehicles, I painted a devilfish and it turned out ok ( from a distance)

  • i love painting devil fish, all you need to make them look sweet is to make sure you paint all the lines in a different colour that goes with your colour sceme, even with just 2 colours the still look sick, detail is key to making Tau vehicals look killa

  • did u say space HORSE grey

  • your painting owns :)

  • isant it a stellth shute

  • it is but the crisis ans stealth are both battle suits but they are different types.

  • Great stuff... I wish you would do more painting tutorials for Tau because this one is the best I have seen on YouTube so far.

  • where did you get those resin bases?

  • Do you mean the hills on the board?

  • Hey budd, as a tau expert do you think i should get the batallion set, just to start?? thnks..
