  • My gosh, there's that accordian from "Just Because", again!

  • Bill Haley is one dapper gentleman

  • Dang it, I was born at the wrong time.. Stupid late 80s.. I love this genre etc etc :)

  • Thanks for posting this video.

I have selected it to be my featured video this week.

  • I was inspired by Frank Ifield and can yodel, I love rock n roll and Elvis, however still think Bill Haily is the King of Rock n Roll, You oldoes know what i mean...

  • @Blue17velvet

Blue velvet,is it a reference to Bobby Vinton?

  • @JoelChoosen Yes, one of my fav songs...can't remember if it was a or b side to Roses are Red....

  • @JoelChoosen Mr Lonely, Blue Velvet are played a lot on my Juke Box, alot of my friends had never heard of him until they press the buttong on my Juke Box...

There are many people just don't know what they are missing.... Great Singer.

Others sitting on the box is Pickadilly Rock, Bill Haley...Rocket 88 Jackie Brenston, , Type a letter to you Billy Fury, Shape on in Johnny Restivo, and more.....Hasn't been played for a while, Now got the urge to plug it in...

  • I was delighted to hear this pre-Rock Around the Clock (1956) song . Never knew he yodelled! He does so beautifully (so many artists owed much to him that was never acknowledged). Thanks for posting!

  • Yodeling is a lost art. Bill was very good at yodeling. It is too bad when he switched to rock and even back to c & W, Bill never yodeled again.

  • This is great!! ! I've always read about this, but never heard it. Really good slideshow, too. Thanks so much for posting this!!!

  • @ deyoungaza -- "Have you ever had a gal who was faithless, who turned you down for one of her own kind"

  • OK. What did he say at 1:51 ??

"Have you ever has a girl who was (unintelligible),

Who turned you down for one of her own kind?"

    Did I hear that right?

  • @deyoungaza Pretty amazing for a 1949 recording, huh?

  • How can I get this onto mymp3 player so I can take it with me to walk the dog?

  • I never imagined Bill Halley yodelled! And this damn good!

  • Still FABULOUS

  • an amazing artist!!

  • interesting...

  • Great Song!

  • Again Bill comes up trumps.

  • He was much better than people realise......

  • cool video... we did a report about yodeling maybe it would be interesting for you too...

  • What a fantastic yodel! This is a great demonstration of Bill's versatility as a singer. How many of his peers could have pulled off a tricky little number like this one so convincingly? Precious few - if any. Haley was the real deal, no doubt about it.

  • special artist

  • the godfather of Rock 'n' Roll. he truly created Rock 'n' Roll. he changed history forever.

  • amazing yodel..great accordion playing too..anyone know the accordionist playing?

  • his name was Al Constantine.

  • thank you

  • When it came to yodeling--we was equal to Elton Britt and Kenny Roberts!

  • This Shows what an incredible musician Bill was. That's improvising, like jazz scat! Much better voice than people give him credit for. Swinging and in tune.

  • He died too fast!

Should still be rocking with Jerry Lee and Chuck Berry!

  • @ChristerDahlback / so right but his songs live on always

  • Great Bill Haley!!! 1925-1981
