Nice to see a SS2000 in this condition, i have the 5 x 40 version and was lucky enough to obtain one after about a 5 year search!

Looks very much like the Colt 390 except with a few extra features as the Colt 390 is only an AM 40 channel radio. Yet I've seen many european radios with very similar construction that are built with many modes more modes of operation and frequencies. If you want to see a colt 390 my channel has a video about Mexican Skip going into the US which shows my colt 390.

Hello Ian. Congratulations to your SS2000 with the PTBM125-board. It' similar to the MIDLAND 6001/400 ch. My SUPER STAR 2000 does have 5x40 ch and incl. the PTBM131-board. I'll send you the video. Have a nice weekend..73's de Stef...

Nice band coverage. Nice idea with three way power especially when using an amp. The channel splits are another great feature. The 50 channel rotary is not something I've seen in a typical radio such as this kind. thanks for the review. Great job...! 5 stars.
