  • 1997 clown college I was there though not as an attendee picked up lots of great stuff even as a casual observer. this should come back again.

  • either your clown or your not...

  • The take-away for this is, you can train to learn to do what a clown does, but you can't necessarily learn how to 'be' a clown. There has to be some of it inside you, first, and then you must learn how to bring it out. Great video, thank you.

  • Lol. Clowns.

  • umm... y did that one guy have a funnel down his pants? lol

  • Nope, that is Glen "Frosty" Little. One of the great white faced clowns.

  • If only they had the clown college still avaliable. I have a love for the circus arts, and began training with Wenatchee Youth Circus. I am apt at many different skills related to circus...wire..juggling,magic, balloons.....I would fit in so well!

  • Wow, seeing lou Jacobs without his makeup suprised me.

  • I love the "note book" bit!

  • This is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing this.

    wow...

  • I remember Lou Jacobs spitting water in my face-the most fun I ever had getting wet!

  • is that ringling brothers or shrine circus what is it

  • Great video. Only I wished you'd included the names of the interviewees.

  • A wonderful memory of a time when we were all young and ready to make the world laugh. As our Mr. Smith says so well, "You can't teach anyone to be a clown", but when you are surrounded by such creative and caring energy like this clip illustrates, amazing things do happen.

    Thanks for posting this .

  • Ah, Mr. Ashlee. Though it's been 23 years since we collaborated on this fine film, it seems like just yesterday (except I have less hair, but more energy). A pleasure to see your fine hand here, with fond memories of Susan Rosenkranz and the faculty, staff and class of Clown College '85. Thank you for being such an important part of our clowning history.

    All best wishes,

    peace & light,

    Steve Smith

    Dean, Clown College 1985-1994
