  • I *Heh* rate this *Heh hehm* with *Heeh* 5 stars.

  • Anne Elk is gorgeous.

  • what is it with the shoe?

  • @Mrfreeworld1000 It was a recurring joke in the episode where some shoe company would call one of the characters in the sketch and ask their shoe size.

  • Barol Bleveland was hot.

  • @MrBz123wee --- It is Graham who is cracking up during the Brontosaurus sketch, when he's interviewing Ann Elk.

  • I would have gone upstairs.

  • What a silly bunt!!!!

  • Oh! What is my theory that it is?

Well, Chriss. You may well ask me what is my theory.

    ...

The next thing I'm going to say is my theory.

My theory, by nibor7301, brackets miss brackets.

This theory goes as follows and begins now:

All Anne Elk cerebelums are thick at one end, thick again in the middle, and still thick at the far end.

That is my theory. It is mine, and belongs to me, and I own it and what it is too.

  • Ahh, Michael <3 Always unfailingly adorable.

  • XDXD el mejor Sketch de Monty Python

  • After about thirty seconds of Eric's...whatever...I just sat there with a blank look as it all went in one ear and out the other. Poor Michael, he looks so desperate to make it stop.

  • I don't like being treated like sheep, especially being shagged by shepherds!!

  • silly bunt

  • a great sketch!!!

  • The version they did at the Hollywood is better, but I like this one as well

  • Annie Elk is John's recreation of Peter Sellers' character Bluebottle from the Goon Show, complete with voice, dialog, and the entire "what it is, which is mine" routine.

  • What a silly bunt.

  • LOVE John Cleese in this one... Anne Elk is probably the most convincing woman he's ever been ;]

  • didnt he say car keys?

  • @TaroTheCat No, he said "khaki," which in the UK is pronounced "kah-kee."

  • So very James Joyce - Yes Yes Yes!

  • They robbed the future of bomedy, nothing bompares

Mt. Everest, forbidding, aloof, terrifying; the mountain with the biggest tits on Earth.

    Genius!

  • john as a woman... brilliant XD

  • Yes Carol, I wanna go upstairs!

  • this should be in the "how to annoy people" series. :D makes you want to smack both Eric and John

  • my all time favourite monty python sketch

  • Eric is AMAZING :)

  • 1:17

  • Amazing how Eric Idle can go on and on and on and on like that and sooner or later you have no idea what he's talking about. Lol

  • I love the way Michael says 'Shut ya' bloody gob!' There's a hint of a smile in it.

    He's definately adorable <3

  • He doesn't like Watney's Red Barrel :)

  • See the humorous but true story, of a Monty Python-like "Arthur '2 sheds' Jackson" owner, who has had a Council "Show Cause" notice served on him for building an invisible shed, at:

    h t t p://w w w[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v= ETS5iigwqV8

  • i think hes been repressing a lot to go on like that lol

  • Luv Michaels face at 1.19, he's too cute XD

  • My favourite sketch and my favourite is Michael Palin,("Michael I'm still waitng for my ten bob in the post").

  • What is it?

    Where?

    I love that part..LoL

  • Where?

  • what is the second theory? i can't get it

  • @MaltoCort

Fire brigade choirs seldom sing songs about Marcel Proust.

  • what's all this about going upstairs?

  • I do believe it is a sexual reference fulfilling the requirement of at least one per Monty Python sketch.

  • i love this sketch! john bleese and erib idle are the funniest, but mibhael palin is funny, too! i love watching him trying to stop erib from ranting!

  • Don' forget about Barol Bleveland.

Seriously, though, she looks great(er than usual) in this sketch.

  • Mike is irresistibly cute in this... I love his hair and sideburns.

And Eric is bloody amazing. Sure it was him that wrote it... but remembering all of the complaint and saying it without a hitch is insane... Even more so when he's running around the Hollywood Bowl.

  • i love watching michaels face all the way through this, watch him fretting more and more X D

  • Carol Cleveland is tremendously sexy. Absolute perfection.

  • I'm he can't say the letter C, how did he say Cherry?

  • @baigandine

'cause it makes a different sound!

  • Eric Idle is Pythons man for huuuuge amounts of text without taking a breath...

  • I never thought of that,, what a silly bunt..

    Love it :)

  • This sketch is so bool.

  • LOL!

  • Why did they censor "bunt"? It's a perfectly decent word.

  • @jacqueslaumone

    'cause it's funny!

  • @jacqueslaumone I caught that too some after 1:51 they did an edit.

  • "START AGAIN!" *Cue Disturbing waving clown* XD

  • Watneys red barrel

  • Where's the bunt in all this!!!!!

    Dang!

  • @Murry25 Glad to see someone else remembered the edit. It was after 1:51

  • START AGAIN

  • Comment removed

  • mount everest great aloof

no sry we don't go there xd great :p

  • Agreed, "What a silly bunt" is an omission.

  • It is not an omission. It was only in the Hollywood bowl version of the sketch. Specifically for Americans. It was never part of the original sketch as best as I can remember.

  • Same as the Kellogs Born flakes joke.

  • @AtheistEvolution I heard it on one of the records. Maybe Matching Tie and Handkerchief (maybe not). That came out much before HB.

  • @AtheistEvolution It wasn't. If you take a look at the Hollywood Bowl version, a lot of sketches were edited to fit American audiences ("The Wink Wink" sketch, for 1).

  • @whatuswattingat That is what I said. I agree.

  • wish the "silly bunt" line was there

  • Lol, sboolboy.

  • Some aspects of this version are better than the live one, but it's also missing some amazing lines.

  • SHUT YOUR BLOODY GOB!!!!!!

  • He'd make an excellent politician.

  • "Do you want to go upstairs? Or have you come to arrange a holiday?"

"I've come to arrange a holiday."

    "Oh sorry."

"Well what's all this about going upstairs?"

    "Oh nothing... nothing."

  • He said the letter 'c'!

  • I expect he was pronouncing it with a 'k'.

  • I would have went upstairs.Brilliant sketch.

  • Brilliant sketch but a slightly better version is on the Monty Python at the Hollywood Bowl video....The classic line..."What dont you use the letter K instead of the letter B"

"Oh I never thought of that waht a silly Bunt" :)

  • Lmfao this is sooo funny - I love Monty Python. <3

  • SHUT YA BLOODY GOB!!!

  • I'm doing this as a monologue for drama :)

  • Love it :]

  • Trivia: That mural is a black and white copy of a Zdenek Burian

  • i though it

  • This whole problem would have been averted if he had just gone upstairs....

  • true it would have been but then he wouldnt have ever learned to say k.

  • watneys lol

  • i have to say I was glad when John finally brought his knees together... LOL.. I love Python... hahahah

  • One of my favorites! I love how Eric is still going after the other sketch is over.

  • I like in the hollywood bowl version, how eric is running through the audience, and climbing over people and interrupting the next sketch :D

  • Can anyone explain to me why they edited out the funniest line from this sketch?

"Spell bolour with a K? Colour! Oh, thankyou, I've never thought of that before... what a silly bunt."

  • According to an article I read ages ago, all the Python shows (and I would presume other shows as well) had to be' OK'd by one of the bosses at the BBC, who could make the decisions about what was acceptable for broadcast and what was not. Apparently on this occasion he thought the "silly bunt" line had gone that bit too far, so even though the show was recorded with the offending line in place, it had to be cut for showing on BBC television. Unfortunately the cut master is all that survives.

  • I remember something about that. I think I read in palin's diary that there were a lot of occurances like that. there was one where graham was asked what his hobbies were..he said golfing, killing cats, and masterbation, maybe that wasn't exactly what he said but everyone laughed when he said masterbation, but it still had to be cut.

  • That line has quite an interesting history. The line "strangling animals, golf and masturbating" was shown in the original broadcast, but on repeat showings the offending line was re-edited so that Graham now said "golf, strangling animals"... followed by a very clumsy cut in which there is a very noticeable "jump" in the picture and a sudden burst of audience laughter. This edit is what was used on the American DVDs of the Flying Circus, but the sketch did make it to the UK releases uncensored.

  • (continued)

The "m" word was removed because of, once again, "those upstairs" at the BBC. Strangely, though, this cut master tape was used in the 'Best Of' Monty Python's Flying Circus' UK DVD set, but not in the later 'Complete Series' 4 disc set. The sketch was also shown uncut on the 80s UK VHS releases.

  • I have that episode on video, and I can hear that he says "masturbating" but it's sort of muffled :/

  • I've heard a recording of this sketch in which Idle says, after realizing he can replace his c's with k's, "what a silly bunt!"

  • this is one of my favorites. and they're all so good-looking... (:

  • oh my!!!! :-)

  • "Fat german businessmen pretending to be acrobats", hahahaha best line ever!

  • and "they sit you next to some pinty old bloke who keeps singing turna malina or something like that haha
