  • this song makes me cry, i don't know why

  • this song make me cry, i don't know why

  • I thought Scott made himself out to look like a complete liar when he said he wasn't a Christian and his songs weren't about God. I'm a Christian, and I know for a fact this song is about Judgement Day. I wonder though if he's aware that only the unsaved will be judged by God while those of us in Christ will judge Satan and the Fallen Angels while giving an account of how we lived for God? I'm not religious, so I don't have to listen to fire and brimstone at Church. Instead, I listen to God.

  • CREED, like it or not, one of the best bands ever!

  • scott needs his hair back

  • love this band

  • Nice

  • mark tremonti is my god

  • then your world is lame xD

  • daughter has flu

  • whats the song that briefly plays before my own prison starts playing? it sounds like alter bride, somebody reply whenever.

  • @9432913

This song was released in 1998. So maybe Alter bridge sounds like Creed?!

but who care.. as long as they sound as fantastic as these guys! :)

  • 2:55 the best part of the song..i dedicate this song to all the people that we they are in bad situation listen to this song..

  • Aewsome Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I freakin love them and they are back!!!!

  • I love the part were he says "I cry out to god seeking only his descision. People stand standing on firms creating my own prison." I love the way he sings Prison

  • Its actually...."I cry out to God

    Seeking only his decision

    Gabriel stands and confirms

    I've created my own prison"

I just thought i would let you know :-) it is a really amazing song, I love it

  • i love this song too...what a great voice on the guitarist too.

  • I was blown away when I saw that it was just him singing the bridge and not all of them! I think the bridge is the best part of the song.

  • oops! i was gonna click thumbs up and i did a thumbs down!! sorry gabbinator!!! i agree with you!

  • i love this songgg so muchh.

  • me too!!!

  • whats that song thats played at the very beginng before creed is on

  • great song!

  • Great video.

  • freaging dam good song even though im not religus

  • so these guys are finally back together...we must all now rejoice

  • what is this guy atheist or christian or what? i dont understand this song really. (im not religious)

  • they are a christian band...even though not all their music is christian. this song is mainly about how life without God createsa his own prison...hence "should have been dead on a sunday morning banging my head" which shows what he regrets not doing. the begining is his life and how it feels, then end is more of noticing God, "cry out to God seeking only his decision, Gabriel stands and confirms I've created my own prison". Not all of creed is christian, but this is one of their more religious

  • They are actually not a christian band. They were never signed to a christain lable or paid money for air time on christain radio. Their music is christain, but the band has turned away the lable of being a "Christain" band. But its all good either way!

  • Just because they havent been signed by a christian company dosent mean anything any way this song is awesome the music video is kinda strange though

  • @lojafan

They are not and never were a christian rock band. Scott was raised as a christian but turned his back on organised religion. He is spiritual and just writes about his thoughts down..

  • Well thats all organized religion really is. Its just a collection of thoughts and memoirs from individuals that decided to live for GOD and then used those insprirations to encourage those that follow. When you read Scott Stapp's lyrics, you must also realize that Scott Stap was taught monotheism over the "trinity", and also that his songs are not worship songs.

  • I hear a thunder in the distance

"See a vision of a cross

I feel the pain that was given

On that sad day of loss

A lion roars in the darkness

    Only he holds the key

A light to free me from my burden

    And grant me life eternally"

from "My Own Prison" is a clear reference to his core Christian beliefs.

Many young men and women can relate to his feelings which inspire ppl to look into CHRIST and know that they are not alone in this cold world. That my friend is called evangelism.

  • listen to the lyrics, it makes perfect sence! =]

  • I love the guitar solo..its very mellow..and if flows very nicely. I want to say he's using a.....polychorus? Or a small clone maybe?

  • Regardless of these guys' beliefs or mine, this is a good song, and I'm sure alot of people can relate with the chorus.

  • nobody is perfect Christian or not

  • who cares what the band is what happend to listening to music. Now i have to know what it means before i can enjoy it? Get a life these comments crack me up!!! I dont care if anybody smokes pot and i sure dont care if they drink, christian or not. you can claim to be anything you want I simply dont care. you guys are so funny!

  • I'm in my OWN PRISON

  • This song speaks the truth for all of those out there who don't know what sin and God and the Cross means and is..

  • this song is powerful man

  • why do christians always think we "dont know" what sin and god are, you fucking moron everyone in the english speaking world is familiar with the basic tenants of christianity

  • omg i wish i didnt click this. but now that i see Godisgris96 is analyzing it, ill tell you what i seen scott stap say on tv years ago... he said it was about a dream he had going to hell, he woke up in a sweat and claims the words just poured out. so ya its about living your life wrong and going to hell.

  • Thanks you for clearing that up for all the morons around here saying they're not a christian band

  • well honestly its would be impossible for them to be "christian" considering scott stap would pass out drunk and puke on stage and pull his wang out on girls backstage. but yes they did claim to be a christian band. even norma jean isnt really a christian band cuz my cousins fiancee gets wasted with them at the 3 bears cafe here in georgia close to where there from.

  • drinking isn't non-christian

  • really? you must think that jesus was a drunk then? the wine back then had NO alchohol in it. jesus said do not intake ANYTHING that intoxicates your mind. so yes. getting drunk is against god. now it does say that ALL seed bearing herb is for us from god. but obey mans law, so would smoking pot really be a sin? i guess its the grey area like everything else from the bible.

  • First, all wine has some alcohol in it, and the bible lists several places where a person was drunk off wine.

  • i think that part of the song has been cut out in this video...cuz i have a version that has an extra verse or somethin

  • Creed were a very good band, with that being said it was medeling bastards that split up the band and scott's downward spiral... if a reunion were to take place he'd have to fix up and people need to but out! Creed was defo in my to 3 bands, so im more than excited to the news of a reunion,

  • love this song!~ so i held my head up hi!

  • awesome song. I said ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh

  • good song bad video

  • man, if you don't like the fucken music, why did you fucken go to this? im sick and tired of wankers hating just because they don't like it, because i can assure you, this was one of the best groups of all time.

  • one of the best yes but to me they are just under staind.

    this is a good song

  • Actually he is right what did happen to music? I just realized this song sucks!!

  • the song is ok. mark has a good voice.

  • I dont dig the video but I dig the song! I would have made the video totally differant wish i knew how to use thus youtube thing!!

  • I think Creed's problem was when they got rid of the bass player, he really made the band alot more interesting musically. Just on this song, the bass really makes it happen at the beginning.

  • brian left on his own

  • badass song

  • Great song

  • I loved it you rock

  • 2:41

  • Creed reunion 2009! Going to be badass. Hope they come here.

  • Gabriel se levanta y connfirma; He creado mi propia prisión.

  • yes, I greated my own prison thats shiit its good to think twices before you great your own prison.

  • this song gets stuck in my head so easy..i love it.

  • what was creeds 1st hit?

  • temazo!

  • i fucking love creed!!!!

  • songz allright

  • i should've been dead too...

  • me too

  • same here

  • alter bridge for you my man

  • Lol. It's not really an accent. He warps his voice like that to sound like Eddie Vedder? If you haven't noticed, they sound almost exactly the same. There's where Creed got most of it's critisism from, people thought they were using Pearl Jam's success by sounding exactly like them, so they were written off as unoriginal. It was a brilliant move by Creed, though. After Pearl Jam's Vitalogy, they changed their sound. This sounds like their old-school popular sound that people have been craving.

  • I've always thought Stapp looked constipated in this. Ha ha. Still, their zenith.

  • Guys stop hating on Stapp. He's made mistakes but he still has talent. I don't think he was trying to steal attention. He's just the lead singer. Of course he's gonna get more attention. I'm dissapointed that he went to alcohol and gambling as a last resort. Creed ruled. :(

  • i have no idea what hes saying

  • that s bad cause the lyric is awesome:-)

esp. "should have been dead on sunday morning..."so try to find it

  • It's "should've been there on a Sunday morning", in other words, seek ye first the kingdom.

  • Wow... For what.. like 12 years or so I've been saying should of been dead.

  • anybody know the lyrics?

  • ... this is a kool song O.O

  • CREED woo this is the shit

  • CREED!

  • there is to a leader in a band are u retarded?

  • gay to gayer what fucking shit is this

no this is actually a good fucking song and who ever thinks different can suck my balls

  • lol

  • singing:shoulda. been dead on sunday mornin' bangin' head.

    i love this soung!

  • i dont understand why people who watch this video would then comment saying they are terrible?? don't watch it then, don't you got something better to do then watch videos of a band you don't like??

  • lol..i dont know if its just me but the guy at 1:21 kinda looks like donald trump. anyways great song!

  • I love Creed they are one of my favorite bands but you know what..FUCK SCOTT STAPP. In a video I saw he says he IS Creed. Fuck that, who ripped all those amazing solos on guitar?Who killed the drums every song?Who's the great bass player? You??No, it was the band...You're not Creed, the band is what makes Creed so good. I mean I love them because the music is amazing and honestly he is a good singer, but he's not good enough to say he IS Creed. The rest of the band, I LOVE! Alter Bridge is great

  • Well put

  • scott stapp is an amazing singer you would be lucky to even come close to his singing ability he is one of the best ever top 25 easy and creed top 25 best bands ever and this is one of there best songs but fuck you if you say fuck scott stapp he may not be creed but he was the leader of creed the one who started it all so dont say a fucking word about scott stapp you dont have the fucking right 2 and hes definantly better than the singer from alter bridge and creed made much better songs. fuck u

  • fuck..u..i never said he was a bad singer!! im not attacking him for his singing abilities, i know hes a great singer. creed made better songs sure but it wasnt scott stapp who "made" them. it was mark tremonti! and im not gonna even argue about whos better between the singer of alter bridge and creed because its about opinion, they're both talented it's the sound people like more, and i like myles. by the way..mark tremonti was the leader of creed, he wrote the music, thats a leader..

  • mark and scott made them together it wasnt all mark scott helped out alot and mark didnt start the band mark is an amazing guitar player but he didnt start the band he helps right the songs thats only part of being the leader im not sayin g that starting the band is the other half but it helps out just a bit theres alot of other stuff that makes u a leader of a band but scott is the leader

  • k well what makes scott a better leader then mark in anyway?

  • their skill [scott is a little bit better singer than mark is a guitar player but not by much],scott started the band scott is a true rock star he ran away from home to start this band and thats all i can think of trust me i love creed i love mark and scott but i like scott a little more and think hes a little better at what he does.

  • why do people keep saying 'the leader'. there is no leader in a band, a band is a team. the band works together for fuck sake. soonerfan4life, you're saying that scott is the leader of the band, so you're saying that he writes lyrics, guitar, bass, and drums for every song? there is no leader in a band, its a band.

  • Scott tried to steal all the attention and take center stage like, say Axl Rose or even Jim Morrison. You know, the whole "Rock Star Frontman" bullshit, Mick Jagger annd all that. I always saw Creed as a vehicle for Scott to be a big rock star and nothing more. Not a working band that plays and works together like Nirvana or the Clash.

  • yeah, scott is a dick.

    but that's fame for you

  • Not all famous musicians are dicks. But the ones that get in it just to fuck chicks and make money like Fred Durst and Scott Stapp are.

  • beautiful song.

  • This is such a great song. You must be one of those people who judge on genre or the band and not on the acctual music or lyrics and dont know shit about music

  • Babylon is fallen.

  • song is actually about scott stapp.. he literally said at this point in his life he was living in a one room studio, no furniture, got kicked out of school and his parents told him to eat shit basically.. he said the lines "shoulda been dead on a sunday morning banging my head" he actually ate mushrooms and found himself on his wooden floor banging his head off it.. (all this comes from a documentary i own called creed unauthorized) hope this helps clear some things up... awesome tune

  • That probably had alot to do with it but im sure thats not the whole story. I think He's saying that he fucked up. He fucked up bad. He did irreversible damage and screwed up his life. He tries to seek salvation in god but finds himself unable and untrusting in him. Therefore attempting suicide. so he has no time left before going insane. would expain the second chorusy thingy. His prison isnt because illegal actions because he created for himself

  • but he doesn't wanna take his own life, or? I don't understand it completely, I'm thinking of doing an analyze on this song for my school work, or "one last breath" witch is best do you think?

  • depends. My own prison can be argued very thoroughly. ALOT of metaphors in it. it can be interpreted very many different ways. That could possibly be a downfall in writing a paper considering that it might not be able to be explained thoroughly. One last breath is a little more straight forward but can not be discussed as deeply

  • okay thank you :)

  • Wow your analyzing this shit song, ouch

  • If you dont like it then why you watching the video?

  • great song. creed had alot of awsome music.

  • yes you are xD

  • Or it could just be about a life eternally spent in hell.... "Court is in session, a verdict is in"No time for mournin, aint got no timeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is about suicide.... When you're about to kill urself... "Should've been dead on a sunday mornin bangin my head" It means that he comitted a bad sin and he shoudve died on /Sunday. So hes created his "OWN PRISON" to hide from the wrath of god.

  • wow ur an idiot

  • regardless of why they split up, this song is very very true

  • Yeah great stuff... I am old enough to appreciate this music from when it was NEW... that being said I never had til now that I am older with MANY more probs.... time to grab the 45cal. POW!!!!

  • This is an awesome song, but this video doesn't really do it justice in my opinion.

  • wow...the young stapp...how cute

  • hang yourslef already ! just kidding

  • THE VIDEO ROCKS, LOVE HIM

  • !!! WHEN WAS THIS MADE !!!

  • 1997

  • creed fucking ROCKS

  • Only good song? Three multiplatinum albums. These guys made it, my friend, they just went down in the end.

  • Wrong. The lead wanted to start a family and they just called it quits. That's it. Not every group has to end in disgrace or in tragedy.

  • bull shit ive been a creed fan my whole life but scott stap was a dick and thats why they broke up check your source next time buddy

  • ive watched this vid 5 times todad its amazin

  • This is one of my most fav songs in the whole wide world--especially from 2:29 to 2:57 cuz Mark Tremonti is the true talent in that part of the song. Hot, too!

  • scott's always been so gorgeous.. ughhh and i dont care if people say hes a bootleg whatever the fuck -he always had a wonderful voice and they always had a kick ass style. and the music is amazing.

  • 1:20. Is that Donald Trump?

  • That was yo momma.

  • it looks like him, but no.

  • nop.

  • HA NO

  • when they were together i went and seen them they sounded exactly the same

  • great voice

  • man creed was great, they were just an over all good band.. too bad they broke up maybe we will see a reunion one day?

  • yeah i hope so... scott stapp is always open for a reunion he said... but his former band members just doesnt want to...

  • yeah ive heard the same, thats sad man these guys just had it, great band..

  • is very good!!

  • this song is amazing

  • u fuckin u its amazing

  • listening to tis band is making my penis bigger

  • u fucken goof r u7 gay

  • You know. I dont really listen to creed ( as you can see by my page) but this song is really good.

  • wat a great song

    great band

  • i love this song

  • great song

  • i'm not creeds bigest fan but this song is amazing.

  • God Scott Stapp is the biggest asshole alive! But he's a good song writer and performer. Creed is a great band, yet underrated...

  • i dont no if i should give tht a thumbs down or up :S

  • Jesus Saves!!

  • and only take half damage

  • while i was in prison id wait every day to hear this song on waaf107.3 boston

  • where were you ? i was in billerica all of 06, and middleton a few months ago.

  • south bay nov04 2 aug 05 now just 6months got out 2 weeks ago

  • was these guys a christian band

  • at one time...creed has split up and scott stapp is now doing a solo career..

  • the rest of the band helped form Alterbridge.

  • Scott Stapp's new album is awesome, I was upset they broke up

I don't like how a verse is cut from this song

they dont' say "silenece now the sound, my breath the only motion around..." and so on. Idk why

  • What hapend to creed? Was it drugs?

  • <_<
