  • So cool. I dig watching mike's videos as you can see how much he loves playing along to Rush. I recognized him right away in this vid. Great job all the way around. More please.

  • wow...how on earth did you find and organize each other!?!

  • @CircusEnvy23 Those guys were already working together and thanks to the *related videos on Youtube, they came across one of my Rush videos and asked me if I wanted to play. Mike the guitarist organized most of everything. He's in Germany!

  • Nicely done! I play this one on drums, too - check it when you have time.

  • This ROCKS!!! Way to play my gave RUSH song! Love it.

  • Je pensais que toute les filles bassiste étaient sexy.. chaque chose à son exeption :)

  • @lunatik75vnr Bueno, mejor estar callado y parecer estúpido que...

  • Great job guys. Much, much respect and kudos on the end guitar solo. That was executed perfectly.

  • Brilliant idea well executed as a died in the wool Rush fan I must say excellent fucking great.

  • Nice sounding band.

  • very cool...

  • Oh man superb!!!!!! MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE :-D

My fave Bravado! What d'ya reckon????

  • Just awesome.

  • that singer is a bassist 2........wtf

  • The drummer looks so intense in his purple sweat suit!

  • ok never seen the virtual band setup before so i am going to guess;)

Someone lays out a click track and you all record individually then mix and edit?

I would hope someday that it could be done live from all different locations without

the lag issues that the internet connections would cause.

Any input on how this was recorded?

Thanks:) and btw great show, was really cool to watch.

  • @fdeeptone We all record our parts along to the same mp3, usually try to record the audio/video together- no faking....except maybe the singer when he does scenes running around. Stuff gets mixed & synced- which is very difficult and then videos are synced with audio. :D Thanks for asking. Snowdoguk has more info on how on his site.

  • Watched this again with a friend, so awesome.

  • sounded great, minus the bass drum. sory bro... sounds like a card board box. I am sure a mic issue or something, but as a drummer that was hard to listen to. Especially this style of music. Peart needs better

  • loved it

  • Great collaboration, but the drums need some serious EQ'ing. Actually they sound over EQ'ed.

  • what a great colaboration' i think its wonderfull' your all brilliant'

  • great !!!

and the song is ace !

  • Awesome! Just becareful you you imminate.

demons are attached with Rush.I know it sounds wacko but it is the truth and Rush oopens a doorway for them

  • awsome

  • one word.......great

  • Great work, guys. I really admire you. Your respect for Rush is an example for everyone!

    Hail RUSH!

  • Incredible!!

  • you probably gonna cut off my #@&*% for saying this but Standing Up Straight is and will always BE the #1 lesson to perform/excercise your songs/tunes

  • I don't know what you are trying to say Pillow....

  • OHHH- you are saying that I am hunched over too much?

  • Oh Lord I hate playing standing up LOL

  • I disagree. The bass should be positioned in a way that allows you to practice both standing and sitting with little penalty. It should be in the same spot regardless - if not, your strap needs to be adjusted. The Master, Billy Sheehan, will tell you this.

  • I was standing up at the end of the video...guess you didn't make it that far ;)

  • It wasn't meant to be offensive - I was simply stating that it's important for the bass to be in the same spot whether you sit or stand, so changing positions doesn't alter your playing. Totally neutral. :)

  • WOW that wuz GREAT (my kneeza r buzzin) u truly do it justice

  • this is very cool ...

    thanx for share!

    best

    ed

  • Awesome!!! If you any time will need a good drummer in your projekt, then you can count with me! !!

  • best rush tribute group i have ever seen, great combination, going to watch some of your other videos...... PLUS bass player looks a great deal better than geddy! excellent work.... would love to hear / watch some of snakes and arrows with the same line up! Armour and sword ? and way the wind blows?

  • I could watch this over and over,

just to see Val and her great bass work,

Oh, I am a bit smitten by her, but, she is

taken, like most women like her! What's

    a boy to do?!?!?

  • why are all the bassists for these virtual rush bands all hot chicks?

  • So you cut your head off... you still are beautiful with half a head :}= !!! You got your fret and finger work. So cool!

    BRIAN

  • nice music

  • what??? excuse me?

  • ok not bad?

  • Valerie, I agree that the record companies need to think more closely about the stuff they yank from YouTube.

This is free exposure for bands that aren't that popular, or for older bands, it can introduce them to an entirely new audience!

i.e. the Jeff Beck live at Ronnie's DVD we talked about - had I not come across the clips on YouTube, I wouldn't have bought the DVD, or Tal Wilkenfeld's CD (both of which I have ordered). They'll go right next to "Guitar Shop".

Great job on this tune BTW!

  • You guys are great! Everything is great.

(Nice vocals! I notice that comments are mostly about the instruments.)

  • ok...this is friggin awesome...

  • mix could be better but hey...u all are awesome and rock the hell out of it...

    fantastic work...endless stars :-)))

    subbed & invited

    PLM

  • Pure awesome! Five stars! I love your bass playing! You have a natural groove.

  • Great job! you guys really nailed it! :)

  • great job ... beautiful voive & nice playin..

  • I just notice something really interesting, alot of you guys music sound like something from the late 80's to early 90's. Please tell me i am not the only one who notice this?

I guess thats why i love your music so much, and it sounds so cool, because back in the day, music back then was amazing.

  • Yes- you nailed it. This is a cover of the 1987 album from RUSH - Hold Your Fire - We are all fans of Rush and thought it would be fun to try and make one of their songs together. Thanks !:)

  • Forgive me for asking a dumb question, but whats new that you guys has release, or you going to put out a new album, are your albums sold at retail stores, like best buy and stuff? or cdbbay?

    just wondering???????

  • We are a *virtual band* . Our releases are videos on Youtube. Mike the guitarist is putting the covers we did on the VirtuallyRush myspace page and he is doing original music too, but I am not on those recordings.

  • Alright thanks for clearing that up, i will send a link to the myspace page soon, and yours and david already added me.

The music back in the day was amazing, music now has really change, nothing bad, but you know. I think the only band besides you guys that hasn't change much is the Smashing Pumpkins.

    Anyways, take care :)

  • AWESOME!!!! I wish I was in a band. All I can play is the begging of Sweet Home Alabama on guitar. LOL!!!!!

  • Wow, that is pretty amazing. The Internet is awesome.

  • Rush is my all time favorite band! You guys did a great job!

  • You guys rocked.

  • Is this a new and virtual band? Wonderful.

  • I love this song, but I have a suggestion: the parts when Geddy Lee plays bass are too low. We hardly can listen the bass guitar, and we know how important is the sound of it to the song.

I loved your version of this song, one of the best.

    Regards from Brazil.

  • That was the first time when i saw something like this. This virtual band thing sounds interesting! :)

Good job by the way! ;)

  • hey val EXCELLENT!!!....that singer really nailed the vocals and val you sound and look wonderful as always.and as i have said before its just a matter of time before we get to admire you on a grand stage in the big time. keep rockin val peace sis

  • Wow, how cool is that!

  • Great band, good players, 5 stars

  • amazing... :)) the very idea is cool too..

  • =o I loved that! You guys are really damn good. RUSH!!!!!

  • great great! This people from big recording companies are just shitheads! Please keep going!

  • that's pretty cool, Val... it looks like you've gone "international" with this one. (smile)

  • How can it be "international " when only one is outside North America out of five?..

Still, like it. Can't fault it really and even if it's basically american, that's a few thousand miles to cover without even a country to invade.. hehe..

  • depends on your definition of "international." when last i checked... Holland and Germany weren't part of North America.

    international (adj.) -

    1- intercontinental

2- existing, occurring, or carried on between two or more nations

3- used by people of many nations (as via YouTube)

    ________

so, i pretty much stand by my original statement.

  • Mea Culpa..

Consider my mouth shut and my apology public.. I relied on inaccurate information and my own predjudice.. My apologies for inaccurate statements.

  • snowdoguk.. band founder UK

    hubandre.....band co-founder The Netherlands

    pauliewanna.. Canada

    Audio/Video production.. UK

    Co-ordination and direction.. UK

.... um, that makes us basically UK/European and very international with "only" 40% American participation... but hey, the 40% is worth it's weight in gold :-)

  • TURN THE BASS UP! Lol. Good playing.

  • Very good, everyone did a great job.Vineyardedge is very beautiful.

  • Sweet

  • Val . Your great my dear !

We should do some Kansas together .

    Loved it...keep going you all!

  • Nice.

But what is the drummer wearing...?

    lol

  • Very nice. How did you come up with this concept ?how did you meet online? have you since played live as a band? What video editing software did you use? What audio software did you use? How long to make this video?

  • Good Stuff! Love to see the way today's technology can give individuals a venue to circumvent the commercial music establishment (to reach listeners). We've been their hostages since the 60's..... lol... end of rant! Make more videos !!!

  • The lead singer reminds me of Geddy Lee......or is it just me?

  • Comment removed

  • fabulous!!! all of you are masters on their instruments (i consider the voice to be an instrument too, btw ^_^) and i can't wait to see/hear more rush-covers. someone wrote "tom sawyer" next -- i add another vote to that and 5 stars for this video!

  • Love watching the drummer!

"A slave to the drive of obsession"...like you guys huh???

Fellow Rush Nut from Ireland. The world is so tiny now we can play music on different continents. If Ray Bradbury had written this, we'd scarece have believed it.
