  • Should i get 0.062" or 0.125" risers.

  • what i would give to get an old school dervish.

  • A thin rubber washer under the washer would be a good addtion to avoid stress cracks from both sides.

  • Gullwings suck

  • so i need washers?

  • I have the same skate tool :3

  • hawtt dowwgg!

  • so clearly this is before their partnership with paris.

  • cone bushings suck balls

  • @qwasrepo1 come on dude. gullwing chargers (at least these ones) are pretty terrible. the new chargers look good, because mercado made them, but these are bad, and gullwing fell a long way from theyre glory days of pool skating

  • Im thinking about the tan tien should i get it i like to freeride commute and carve.

  • arent drop thru boards more fragile? the entire board (plus the rider's weight and the extra force created when carving) is supported by those 8 nuts and bolts rather than a topmount, which has the deck placed on top of the baseplate

correct me if im wrong because im debating on buying a drop thru board

  • useless.

  • What bearings are those, Abec 7?

  • is this adam colton?

  • @xDAMxMONSTERx exactly what i was just about to ask...

  • @xDAMxMONSTERx No, it's not adam colton. It's Adam Richard Colton V.

  • did anyone else here the error at 6:51 dont thighten them all the errhhhhhh

  • lmfao "find your nut"

  • What kind of wheels are those and what color

Thanls for the video, it really helped me!

  • @thomaspk2009 retro zig zags all the zigzags come in green

  • I found yet more evidence for my theory as to why these guys are awesome at longboarding. They are, in fact, reptilians. Yes, reptilians. Listen to his voice at 6:50.

    See?!

  • are gullwing trucks good please respond

  • @simpletrickz1 yah their good, but i've heard that the gullwing mission and alpine are pretty sucky (haven't used em yet). The gullwing chargers are decent all around, but randals are better, and the gullwing sidewinders are are good at turnin, but are pretty high. The bombers, like the name says, are just chargers but built for bombing hills.

  • @simpletrickz1 They are fine, but I would recommend Paris Trucks...They are nicer than Gullwings and I prefer them to Randals. They are cheap too. They have Barrel/Cone Bushings which are better all around than the Double Cone bushings on Randals or Gullwing Chargers.

  • This is Adam Colton!

  • This is Adam Colton!

  • does it matter which way you put the kingpin in

  • Have you made a video on how to drill the holes for a drop through deck. I cant find a video anywhere. Also can the risers be bought on your website.

  • thanks, this really helped me :)

  • how do bearing spacers help????

  • @megadude77 their abec11 bigzigs there supposed to be pretty nice

  • which wheels are those?

  • does it matter which way you put in your washers next your bearings?

  • I am trying to decide what trucks i want. I dont do any major downhilling, just short slower ones. i like cruisin and doin a little freestylin.... should i get paris, bear, or randal trucks? and why?

    thanks.

  • @NinjeticReflex Paris or Unflipped bear 8/1052's. i recommend bears, because they give you the OPTION to flip for downhill. unflipped, with some 81a barrels, they're REALLY freeride ready, flipped with 90a boardside, 87a road, they bomb like a DREAM.

    180lbs.

  • ok umm please hellp i just got a loaded dervish deck.. and i dont have those riser thingys , will my board live without them or do i have to get them? if so, where can i get them from?

  • Ewwwww why would he use gullwings.............

  • Lmao at his foot

  • Do you absolutely need to tighten the nut all the way when you have bearing spacers?

  • @sapzap96 kinda defeats the purpose of bearing spacers if u dont, if u dont want to u dont need bearing spacers

  • @sapzap96 Not at all, but it certainly makes it safer. The spacers make it so that when you tighten them down, it doesnt make the inner ring of your bearings go out of place. When they are out of place they can blow out and you can lose a wheel, or they can stick and then lock up. But also, you cant tighten them down too much even with bearing spacers because they can still get out of place.

  • @WegiesSkateTeam There good trucks... lol

  • so risers could also be called shock/drop pads? or are those two different things?

  • @reconAble1 It doesnt matter. when people see you there not gonna ask if you have risers on.

  • @reconAble1 i think shock pads go on top of the truck and the riser pads go in between the the truck and board if u understand that....

  • @reconAble1 since not many people have been helpfull yet i will tell u wat u need to know. The point of risers is to rise the boar and are therfore ussaly used on boards that are not dropthrew. they use risers to help avoid wheel bite. Shock pads on the other hand are to protect the board from stress cracks. Shock pads are two seperate pieces and a riser is one. I hope i helped, if u are getting a drop threw deck i would recomend getting shock pads it will improve the lifespan of the board!

  • Older style dervish. There is no extended cut out to prevent the bamboo from cracking.

  • how longer screws u need?

  • Epic bearings...

  • do completed Loaded Longboards (Dervish) come with the riser pads already on?

  • hey im looking to set up my tan tien and i have like no idea what size bolts to use... help..?

  • @LiveSleepDie use a ruler? do you need help to the toilet too?

  • @Hhmmmmmmmmmm No but that'd be nice are you offering..?

  • 6:49 mic skip haha

  • Comment removed

  • thanks adam now all i need is a new set of wheels jaja

one of my current wheels is so worn down it looks like an oversized bushing

  • if theres 6 holes do you put them in the furthest holes apart or the closer?

  • @LoadedChangesLives Whichever they fit in, but if they fit in both, the farther out.

  • ooowwww i tightenen my nutts to hard

  • I'm in the process of putting together my dervish with randals... he makes it seem so easy, my screws didnt go in smooth, my kingpink doesnt stick out that much.. sadness

  • umm, I have bearing spacers, do I have to tighten them hard, so they don't spin alot like in the video? Or do I have to make sure there is little play in it.

  • @quangstars e latter

  • I took apart my randal truck and the kingpin went out and i cant get it in far enough to fit the bushings, hanger and washers, help?

  • Comment removed

  • Do you use 1 1/8" hardware?

  • Comment removed

  • so i have my dervish deck and im going to use this video to walk me though this im getting randal black 180mm 42 degree trucks drop thru shock pads randal red 92a bushings (barrel) 4 flat washers 76mm abec11 flywheels 75a bone swiss bearings standard spacers and the ruckus skate univeral tool can i put a board together like this?
  • i use this truck tightening rule all the time

  • what bolts are used there? and how many "

  • @MrPhreakyPhresh there are eight. i have no idea what bolts they are, i need to know also.

  • what type of bearing spacer would i use for paris 180's and otang durains?

  • "Hear that construction? Thats construction alright folks. Living in the city and you get construction."

  • Adam Colton you have your own trucks why not use those trucks instead of gay ass gullwings

  • @codymac98 This vid is from 2008 the Adam Colton Paris weren't out then. Also I guarantee you suck more than Gullwings.

  • boooo. gullwings suck

  • @monkieboi88 theyre not that bad.

  • is there any benefit of flipping the hangar??

  • @xXSoiledTrousersXx with the trucks on the vid (which are the chargers by gullwing) you can't. But from my understanding, like the the r2. By flipping the hangar from the side that says 180 or 125 to the side that says CA, it decreases the angle if the hangar. Making better suited for hills, but less suited for carving.

  • adam colton makes everything funny

  • Retro Lemon Zigzags! :D

Great carving/shalom wheels, downside is they're not disciplined for sliding. :P

  • Should I loosen my wheels a little so they spin more because right now mine spin about 3 times as long as his do at 6:44. Is it better to make them spin like his do at 6:58 or does it matter?

  • and if you lose one of your speed rings where can you get more?

  • @Driminem Any skate shop. Or online shops like LongboardSkater, MileHighSkates, or Motion Board Shop.

  • THOSE WHEELS ARE BRIGHT!!!!! haha

  • If I get the loaded dervish deck, does it come with shock pad strips?

  • what trucks are those?

  • @sailorboy25 he said at the start, Gullwing Chargers I believe

  • Thankyou thankyou thankyou

  • would swapping the bushing placements affect the trucks/ride in any way?

  • @M3talm0nst3r definitely. However, I think the only way that that could work is if you flipped the hanger as well because the sides of the hanger are specifically made to fit the larger, or smaller, bushing. As to the effect and performance the swap would have, I am unsure. I have yet to try it, so you'll have to see for yourself. Have fun!

  • what is different about drop thru trucks and regular trucks?

  • @ruca125 well there is no difference. just separate the hanger from baseplate and put a peice of wood between the two. Other than that a whole truck underneath a peice of wood (or bamboo and carbon fiber now eh)

  • and if you buy the deck will it come with the risers? because the one i got and thick?

  • @RobGuitar99 Same deal with me, I need to know!

  • can you use holey trucks?

  • What length screw are you using? I have the landyachtz nine to five with randall R2's and am getting the same risers? What length should I get?

  • it doesnt matter what way the bearing go in right?

  • if there's a shield on both sides then no it doesn't matter

  • depends, if both side have sheild (plastic or metal) then dont matter, if only one side does have a shield, have the shield face out.

  • can i buy those risers somewhere?? or do i have to make them myself??

  • who cares about the sqeaky sound, as long as ittides good

and were do u get those speed rings, i lost mine lol

  • haha "find ur nut " : )

  • Comment removed

  • to get rid of the squeaking noise, put either wet soap or lubricant into the pivot cups, the plastic things that the hangar fits into.

  • I think qualtiy is better than noise? Ive been using randals since i was 13.

  • aha, thanks for clarifying the bit about the direction of bearings spacers :)

  • "smoother side touching the bearing".. aaahhhh!! i always wondered which side went where.. hehe thanks!

  • I use bearing spacers, but i tend to back off the nut just a little bit untill the wheel can spin freely.

Here Adam says he tightens his all the way up, but as he shows it doesnt spin freely?

Is that how it's supposed to be when your using bearing spacers?

  • I use the spacers because I don't like the sound of play in the wheel. I suppose it's all rider preferece.

  • i didn't put washers on before i screwed on my trucks.. bad idea the nut grinded its way into the board I'm scared its going to snap soon

  • Comment removed

  • remember kids dont push down on your nut too hard ;)

  • haha "it's important to set up a dropthrough board at least once in your life"

  • ill be gettin my life fill of setting one up in about a week!!!!!!

  • those wheels look like they taste so good. love fresh wheels. mine are nasty

  • U guys do no that it only takes $27 for loaded to make a dervish

  • thats life for ya

  • wat trucks are those?

  • gullwing chargers, like he said at the start

  • what does bearing spacers do? :P

  • Increase the life of your bearings during aggressive sliding and riding by distributing forces more evenly. They aren't necessary, but they're good for the bearings.

  • sounds like adam

  • Hi. What kind of Wood is dervish? that dervis you got there? and how much does it cost?

  • Its Bamboo, yes thats a dervish, and its about $330, but you can find it cheaper.

  • 245$ for mine.

  • dervish's are bamboo/fiberglass if i'm not mistaken and you can find them for like 200$ canadian for the deck

  • dervish is made of compressed bamboo coated in fiberglass. A complete board can run anywhere from 250 -350 depeding on where you get it and what trucks/ wheels/ bearings you put on the deck

  • im gettin a flex 1 dervish and i weigh 165-170 should i get risers?

  • risers on a drop through deck, make you board lower, these risers you see are basicly just for protection

  • Comment removed

  • alright. i didnt know i could use risers on a drop through deck. i weigh 235 on a flex 1 dervish. recommended wearing risers or am i alright without them?

  • I have the same question, anyone know?

  • i figured it out. since no one answered, i just bought some and put them on haha. it will take a little bit to get used to, but it rides a whole lot better.

  • is it possible to setup a dervish with gullwing misson 1 trucks?

  • Wow man you are great :) thank you soo much :) realy good help!!

  • Hey bro! great video, really helped me a LOOOOT!!! don't think I had pulled it off without your expertise!!!

    Bless and thanks a million!!!

  • oh chargers on a dervish! what a waste!

  • Why do u say that?

  • yeah i love my chargers

  • how much is the the drop thru board cost

  • do those work for the demonseed?

  • what riser pads are those?

  • oh thanks dude. that'll really help once i get my dervish :P

  • there gullwing charger trucks he just said it and they had silver chargers for a while but its hard to get them

  • I got them standard on my 2005 S9 46" Bamboo

  • that is the Gullwing Alpine i believe.. chargers do not come standard on s9..

  • They did on my 2005 Bamboo 46" but i bought it from a shop where they could've changed them out.

  • they came on mine

  • The new dervish graphic isn't near as good as the first why did they change it

  • the drop through hole looks small

  • Since when does Gullwing make a silver Charger?

  • they are not chargers they are the alpine trucks by gullwing not chargers

  • No he says in the beginning that they are Chargers. Also the Alpines don't look like that.

  • yeah those r chargers 150 mm

    the black ones are 180mm

  • wer can i buy the risers?

  • a skate shop or online

  • check out Stoked Skateboards. They have specific Dervish thin pads cut out just for its drop through

  • or daddiesboardshop they got stuff too OMG THEY SELL THE DERVISH FOR 1 WHOLE DOLLAR LESS! SUCH A GOOD DEAL jk

  • im talking about the thin protection risers but haha

  • do you think it would work for a bustin board strike?

  • using the this pads? probably

  • i need help finding my nut. hehe i'm mature

  • hmmm...which way do the bearings go when you put them in the wheels? which side is the seal facing? outwards or in to the wheel?

  • out

  • will this work for a kracked skulls longboard too

  • any drop through board bro

are you new to this? i can tell

  • im gettin my dervish soon but i dont have risers i roderd trucks wheels and all that jazz can i run without the rizers and second skate on a normal board and the king pin goes the other way like if there is a logo on the truck if faces out so wouldnt it be the same on this ?

  • naw all longboard trucks i knw the kingpin faces out, unless their gullwing missions

  • thanks for the demo

  • Do bushings have anything to do on how well you can carve?

  • smooth ride i think
