There is a reason why the dental association tells people to buy toothpaste and use products only approved by the dental association. It's because they make money off of it. It's a lie, a scam, wake up. Otherwise, if people only used hydrogen peroxide and baking soda (which are far, far, far cheaper than any "approved" dental product) and run-of-the-mill floss they'd lose tons of money due to a lack of sales and the fact that less people would be going to the dentist with tooth/gum disorders.
Stop complicating it! Toothpaste is a lie! It has chemicals your body does NOT need and it doesn't neutralize/kill the substances/organisms that cause bad odor and tooth/gum problems! All you need to do is floss daily and brush with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda! These two things KILL bacteria, neutralize acid (they're alkaline), whiten teeth, and costs several times less than toothpaste! I have a tiny cavity on a wisdom tooth and since using HP/BS 3 years ago it's growth stopped! Do this!
@LiYUan1312 if you go on the site click on the tooth image (home page) and you'll see an interactive tooth chart that helps you understand the link between tooth and the rest of the bofy
@LiYUan1312 Sorry I replied to the wrong person earlier. The site is shown at the beginning of the clip. If I put the site on this reply it won't send out! Odd.
@BrightStaroftheDawn I agree entirely., I flossed once but felt there was something not write right about it. I only use flossing tape to remove stubborn food particles. I swish diluted hydrogen peroxide around my mouth every night which really helps
@blottingbrushes Whatever you do, you still need to get the rotten food out from between your teeth to prevent the gums from soaking up bacteria from that rotten stuff that gives off a putrid stench (just smell some of the stuff that you find between your teeth after it's set there for a day or more!!!!!!!!) and causes the gums to become tender and bleed when you do floss them. You REALLY ought to throw out the toothpaste and just brush exclusively with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
@BrightStaroftheDawn Don't go without flossing your teeth. You need to scrape out rotten food and parts of the gum between the teeth that get bacteria and pus in them from the rotten food. This is why your gums bleed easily if you rarely floss. They're full of bacteria. The gums will easily heal themselves. Floss every day and your gums will be bacteria free and they'll become tougher. Only brushing with peroxide and baking soda will ensure your mouth is alkaline not acidic, and bacteria free.
Briefly, I am in my late forties, have all but five molars.. I have only flossed my teeth less than ten times my whole life, brush once to twice a day . No deep cleaning root planining ..... I do not feel comfortable with something that is suppose to heal the gums.......by making it bleed. I smoke, drink coffee, tea, a light drinker of wine, and they remain a natural very light ecru. I would never get them whitened and ruin the enamel.

According to Dr Phillips flossing can inadvertently move plaque into the sulcus if the flossing action is carried out incorrectly , just as it can with brushing. Hope that answers your question.
@arghhh40 If you brush with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda you don't have to worry about that. These two substances when combined do way more than toothpaste. They kill bacteria (which also means it stops cavity formation in it's tracks and kills the bacteria that causes bad breath [not just covering it up with a good smell!!!] and gum diseases), whiten teeth (peroxide is known for this anyway and baking soda scrubs the surface of the teeth), and neutralize acid (they are both alkaline).
This mans voice makes me feel very calm. I like his voice. Useful information also!

Agreed entirely. I use hydrogen peroxide to gargle every day. When are others going to realise the scam?

I have not been to a dentist for 12 years, and going soon for an exam/cleaning.
Now, Idk, but I think , for my age, I have pretty good teeth for not flossing and not "brushing after every meal"....and no root planing. *shudders.

Interesting.
I can see some truth in this.
