had 2 do a horse search 2 see the kind of horses that are native to the area, this is what i came up with for who may be interested...

Andalusian, Barb, Jennet and later the Peruvian Paso ... Criollo horses

*from the short item i read they are gaited, which in the terrain i imagine that a sure footed comfortable ride is important... having ridden peruvian paso's and andalusians i can attest to their comfortable gaits, tho, the andalusian is very different than the paso...
