Excellent lift mate. I love your channel, I can't believe the KJ crew have issues with sumo style deads. Like you said it's all about what works for you.
Thanks. I do not really care about what other people think. But sometimes I get fed up when people talk about that I should not do sumo and switch to conventional. :) If it was all about the poundages liftes I would use a belt in the squat and a belt in the deadlift. I lift beltless, and I seek to improve my lifts. That is all what I can do! :) Have a good week!
No problem dude. I took a look at one particular person on here who felt the need to criticise the sumo style of lift, looked through his videos and big surprise he had no vids of himself lifting. Internet i full of these crackpots. Maybe some people should be out practicing their lifts instead of trawling through youtube to criticise others.
It is very often the case that those who have anything negative to say do not have any videos themselves. :) But there is nothing else but to keep going. I have been lifting for almost 10 years, and will just keep lifting. :) Thanks and have a good day!
Nei, bruker nok tiden på studier nå. Så det blir ingen nye intervjuer med det første. Var jo artig det, men tar veldig mye tid, og jeg tjener ikke noe på det. :o Må juble for perser. Trening er livet! :D Må huske på at jeg var veldig skada i ryggen og ikke kunne ta markløft på nesten 2 år, så da blir det ekstra jubel vet du! Skadet meg før showlift i Kristiansand i 2007..
Sticking to the old sumo DL eh? Very nicely done, congratulations on the new PR!!
I don't care who lifts more or less than me either; but for you I make an exception. When i'm as far into my training as you are, I hope to be making the same lifts and to have your strength!
Hopefully I will one day surpass you in this lifetime: but that is many years of dedication in coming and I am willing to try with everything I am worth!
No need to switch to conventional. Your Sumo form looks perfect. I would think that you would want to Deadlift more often or do some Good-Mornings but whatever works.
That said, I gotta say I disapprove of the sumo stance. it shortens the range of motion, making the lift easier. Forget about numbers and go with a shoulder-width stance.
I think I would add that, for strong squatters, the sumo style is better, because you can use more leg strength. Also, the sumo deadlift causes about 10% less stress on L4-L5 vertebrae, and I have a history with a very bad lower back injury, so I will stick with the sumo for the rest of my life. I might do some lighter conventional pulls, but I am not going heavy with those. Almost 2 years without being able to lift heavy from the ground is enough. Health is the most important thing. :)
At the moment every day, but I have very brief sessions. Sometimes less than 30minutes. This is something new that I am trying. Number of days with weight training a week, has mostly ranged from 3 to 6, I guess most of the time it has been 4 times a week.

great pull, man.

Either way, nice lift.

Did you read the description? "No, I am not switching to conventional style."
I do not care about numbers. I care about progress.

Nice lift. But could we NOT take God's name in vain, please? Thank you.

1. got damn
A word that refrains from actually cursing the god almighty
"got damn raaaaaaaaaaaaw"
2. got damn
A nice way to say "goddamn" without using The Lord's name in vain.
Look it up yourself.
This channel is about lifting, not religion, politics, or any other nonsense people usually fight over. :)
Have a good day Sir!

Ha-ha. Morsomt med litt følelser og lyder. Meget bra, Per! Stå på! Du er tøff!

Følelser? Vaksne sterke jarnmenn har ikkje følelsar, dei et metall til frukost og spyttar spiker før trening!
