  • Excellent lift mate. I love your channel, I can't believe the KJ crew have issues with sumo style deads. Like you said it's all about what works for you.

  • Thanks. I do not really care about what other people think. But sometimes I get fed up when people talk about that I should not do sumo and switch to conventional. :) If it was all about the poundages liftes I would use a belt in the squat and a belt in the deadlift. I lift beltless, and I seek to improve my lifts. That is all what I can do! :) Have a good week!

  • No problem dude. I took a look at one particular person on here who felt the need to criticise the sumo style of lift, looked through his videos and big surprise he had no vids of himself lifting. Internet i full of these crackpots. Maybe some people should be out practicing their lifts instead of trawling through youtube to criticise others.

    Keep up the training bro!

  • It is very often the case that those who have anything negative to say do not have any videos themselves. :) But there is nothing else but to keep going. I have been lifting for almost 10 years, and will just keep lifting. :) Thanks and have a good day!

  • Well you're doing well mate. Really well.

  • Thanks for the good words.

:o Må juble for perser. Trening er livet! :D Må huske på at jeg var veldig skada i ryggen og ikke kunne ta markløft på nesten 2 år, så da blir det ekstra jubel vet du! Skadet meg før showlift i Kristiansand i 2007..

  • Sticking to the old sumo DL eh? Very nicely done, congratulations on the new PR!!

I don't care who lifts more or less than me either; but for you I make an exception. When i'm as far into my training as you are, I hope to be making the same lifts and to have your strength!

Hopefully I will one day surpass you in this lifetime: but that is many years of dedication in coming and I am willing to try with everything I am worth!

Keep on pushing those barriers brother!

  • You will get to my current level, no doubt. I hope to advance to even higher levels! :) Patience and hard work!

  • That was a grinder! Nice work.

  • yeeahh norwegian viking warrior :)

  • No need to switch to conventional. Your Sumo form looks perfect. I would think that you would want to Deadlift more often or do some Good-Mornings but whatever works.

  • I do what I think is best for me. I've trained for 10 years now.. So you learn what works for you. :)

  • Great Deadlift Per...

  • thanks!

  • great pull, man.

That said, I gotta say I disapprove of the sumo stance. it shortens the range of motion, making the lift easier. Forget about numbers and go with a shoulder-width stance.

    Either way, nice lift.

  • Did you read the description? "No, I am not switching to conventional style."

I do not care about numbers. I care about progress.

  • I think I would add that, for strong squatters, the sumo style is better, because you can use more leg strength. Also, the sumo deadlift causes about 10% less stress on L4-L5 vertebrae, and I have a history with a very bad lower back injury, so I will stick with the sumo for the rest of my life. I might do some lighter conventional pulls, but I am not going heavy with those. Almost 2 years without being able to lift heavy from the ground is enough. Health is the most important thing. :)

  • noooo! 1 kg more and you've caught me up in the deadlift! ;-)

seriously though: good lift! keep it up!

  • You are strong! :D

  • Nice pull, Stallion.

  • Thanks bro!

  • Per I want to be like you when I grow up......oh wait, I am old.

  • I am 31. :) :)

  • People always looks so happy after a PR.

  • PRs are the very reason we lift!

  • Impressed, as always.

  • Thanks. :)

  • Nice lift. But could we NOT take God's name in vain, please? Thank you.

  • 1. got damn

A word that refrains from actually cursing the god almighty

    "got damn raaaaaaaaaaaaw"

    2. got damn

A nice way to say "goddamn" without using The Lord's name in vain.

    Look it up yourself.

This channel is about lifting, not religion, politics, or any other nonsense people usually fight over. :)

    Have a good day Sir!

  • good lift, nice form and nice effort! Congrats for the Pr!

  • Thank you!

  • wooohooo very nice! great form! keep it up

  • Thanks!

  • So freakin good lift Per, it goes slowly, but it is smooth and and looks like art, and it's heavy too!

  • One day you will lift this too!

  • 1)Great aggression

    2)Sick effort

    3)Awesome lockout

Congrats for the new PR!!!:) This will give you wings to fly higher for even better records!

I 100% agree with your annotations!

I really much appreciate your breath control, (i have already told you!)

Keep up and you will conquer the world Stallion!;)

  • HAha. You are too kind. It was a good lift, and ok performance. It was not spectacular, but thanks anyway! :)

  • Every new PR at the deadlift IS spectacular!!! It is your best deadlift video..

My lower back is still sore!!! Damn! But i like it..:P

  • Yes, you are right. A PR is a PR!"

  • Ha-ha. Morsomt med litt følelser og lyder. Meget bra, Per! Stå på! Du er tøff!

  • Følelser? Vaksne sterke jarnmenn har ikkje følelsar, dei et metall til frukost og spyttar spiker før trening!

  • kraft. Perfect sumo, well done!, 5*.

  • Thank jjmm112. For commenting. Have a good night mate!

  • how many times a week do you train?

  • At the moment every day, but I have very brief sessions. Sometimes less than 30minutes. This is something new that I am trying. Number of days with weight training a week, has mostly ranged from 3 to 6, I guess most of the time it has been 4 times a week.
