The early stuff may be shit in comparison but it's a build up of both difficulty and towards the climax. I think one mistake Blizzard made with cataclysm was revamping the low level area's as part of the expansion. Sure the old one's were very stale and a bit boring but people had already payed good money for that content and basically had to pay for it all over again. Also, many people power level so they can do some cool stuff at level 85. Blizzard spent all that development time on the low levels so unfortunately the end game was a little underwhelming.
@sbemail22 very true,but I really wish there had been a raid based in that area or in deepholm, all we got in that style was stonecore (my favorite instance in cata) and throne of the tides in 4.0 and then the zones were mostly ignored after that. I myself levelled through Vashjir for my main and then went through hyjal for my alts as it was quicker, most people i know did the same thing. Before I quit the only time I went to Vashjir in 6 months was to farm herbs or get enchantments.

I understand Lewis' POV on the long staggering of content release in WoW, and how frustrating it is... but it's what Blizzard does now instead of putting in attunements for raid content. Give people 4 months to gear up as much as they can and then open up the new stuff for people to do.
I will admit that I preferred the way that Burning Crusade did its teir content (2 teirs at launch) but Blizzard is trying to keep in a new demographic to their game now, each game does it differently.

I am dissapointed with Blizzard too Lewis, and from my point of view it looks like the only possible way to keep people subscribing to the game.
My experience has been that the overall leveling content has become very dull and boring after plenty of expansions, and there is such a huge gap between the releases of new raids. Quitted, and waiting for GW2 now :)
@Zed063 I did read your other comments and people have already pointed out that SoI is a free video series and WoW is a game where the goal is to get out as much content as possible in order to keep people subscribed. Yogscast puts out 1-2 videos a day.
Also, I've been subscribed since 2008 when they only uploaded a couple of videos a month.
Actually on the Steam Tonk game you can attack other tonks or targets without selecting them.Simply be pointing at them and the projectile will hit automatically.

@BlueXephos No one is actually forcing you to read those books; sure it's nice to know what is actually going on with the story and to know why we play this game, but a majority of the WoW community honestly could care less. Personally I don't want them wasting time adding in quests that people will probably ignore anyway for a small minority of the playerbase; that energy/time is better spent elsewhere. I for one, much prefer reading the books, it makes me feel more immersed.

If you can't be bothered to take a couple of days to read a short 500 pages, then you obviously don't care that much about the subject.The books are there to provide more insight into the story behind the events of the Wacraft universe, while the MMO is meant to experience a small amount of what has/will/is occurring. No quests. Read a book.
I don't really get why people actually hate on WoW by comparing it to the newer MMO's. The game is 7 years old FFS, of course newer games will improve on it. If the new expansion really brings about the end of WoW, that's still a good 8-9 years of being on top. If anything, the longevity of WoW is pretty amazing.
I loved WoW.. But then it got too easy.. Now, they are going out of ideas, and stealing DreamWorks idea with pandas.. Soon there will come "World of Warcraft We-Just-Ran-Out-Of-Ideas-So-We'll-Add-Butterflies Expansion.. WoW was the best, but then Cataclysm came and fucked everything up..

And Mists of Pandaria is about the Pandaren form Warcrat 3, 8 years before Dreamworks Kung fu panda, and if you even bothered to learn the back story it's about the Alliance and Horde fighting for control of Pandaria. @aeroMLG WoW's losing popularity because Blizzard are making the game too easy and ruining its integrity with stuff like legitamised gold buying (via the Guardian Cub pet). I'd like to know why out of nowhere the king of the dwarves is a big rock and his daughter, brother, and some guy from the highlands are sitting on his chair, but I don't feel the need to read 500 (or however many) pages when you could just show me a good questline.

If you can't be bothered to take a couple of days to read a short 500 pages, then you obviously don't care that much about the subject.The books are there to provide more insight into the story behind the events of the Wacraft universe, while the MMO is meant to experience a small amount of what has/will/is occurring. No quests. Read a book.

I don't really get why people actually hate on WoW by comparing it to the newer MMO's. The game is 7 years old FFS, of course newer games will improve on it. If the new expansion really brings about the end of WoW, that's still a good 8-9 years of being on top. If anything, the longevity of WoW is pretty amazing.

I loved WoW.. But then it got too easy.. Now, they are going out of ideas, and stealing DreamWorks idea with pandas.. Soon there will come "World of Warcraft We-Just-Ran-Out-Of-Ideas-So-We'll-Add-Butterflies Expansion.. WoW was the best, but then Cataclysm came and fucked everything up..

@WilliamNiira It never got too easy. It was a bit easier than it is now back in vanilla. And Mists of Pandaria is about the Pandaren form Warcrat 3, 8 years before Dreamworks Kung fu panda, and if you even bothered to learn the back story it's about the Alliance and Horde fighting for control of Pandaria. Get your facts straight.

do u even know u talking about? if they killed israphel it would be over. done deal. wrap. no more episodes. but a game is supposed to be wrapped packaged full on. now im not saying streamlining the content is bad. its a pretty good idea, if done in moderation. i agree with lewis in saying that people who bought cata expected to at least confront deathwing and half those guys have stopped playing already before they got to see it.

@aeroMLG WoW's losing popularity because Blizzard are making the game too easy and ruining its integrity with stuff like legitamised gold buying (via the Guardian Cub pet). I despise Blizzard nowadays due to their moneygrubbing - Diablo 3 real money auction house etc. Blizzard just... aren't a good developer anymore. :(

I think they do it because they feel it makes them superior in some way even though in reality it just makes them look petty and pathetic.
