  • How do you cut the rings?

  • @devo229 With a knife.

  • iF YOU GUYS LOOK ON THE SIDE YOU WILL SEE THE OTHER VIDS, WHERE U HAVE THE INGREDIENTS ETC....i guess they forgot to mention part 1-2-3 etc....

  • whats the batter recipe....?

  • how does it look disgusting ?????? Lol i think it looked great!!!!

  • this isnt how to make onion rings, this is how to dunk onion in ready made batter and flour!

  • At least he tried his best to deliver the method.

  • yeah stuck is a good word lol

  • Why not dust them with your dry hand Matt? You will get end up with a gooey mass.

I think you mean the batter "bonds" to the rings btw.

  • All steps should be linked from one video to the next :)

  • I'm so glad I found this video. I've been trying to make my own onion rings for years, but I never thought of dipping them in goop then dipping them in powder. Still need to work out the kinks though, so far I've tried dipping them in bowls of chalkdust, baking soda, and Comet, but they're still not turning out that great. Oh well, isn't that the secret to good cooking? Using the process of elimination to figure out what is in the mystery bowl of powder you saw on the internet...

  • submerge your ring......

  • great video, it's nice to see someone on YouTube concerned about food wastage.

  • @Kantasyxx lol exactly nearly every food tutorial vid Ive been does not show you what the batter is made of.

  • warbeats bit different from fl tuts

  • @netstepb thumbs up brother

  • impressive, I didn't know about the dipping in dry flour thing thanks for the tip.

  • yummy

  • so...ingrediants?

  • ill tell you whats NOT cool. the twitter ad before this video.

  • Expert village always divide their videos with out labeling them unfortunately!

hence "see you in the next step"!

  • yeah man! dont waste fooood :)

  • The batter is the hard part, how to you make it,TY

  • dude you didnt give us the recipe for the batter and the flour..this part is mad easy

  • right okay people......... the recipe for onion rings is so easy and basic ........ self-raising flour water and 2-4 egg whites........ cut the onions into rings and put in flour first.......then into batter then into fryer/oil...... its that easy

  • the way he says dipping sauce makes it sound so delicious

  • Wow! I will not call you an idiot, but where is the actual recipe instructions/video. We are just watching you make the onion rings after you have already prepared your batter - You really! need to think about redoing this video.

  • What the heck! Which ingredients are for batter and which ingredients are for the breading? Why wasn't this whole recipe on the same video with the ingredients listed in print? If I were you, I'd redo it with just the facts, man.

  • how did you make the batter lol!

  • What do you use to make your dry & wet mixtures?

  • I like to use some break apart chopsticks when I batter coat stuff so my fingers don't steal too much coating or mix the batter or flour too much. A package of 100 is just a dollar at some stores.

  • ya thats a good idea, lots of ppl use chopsticks (or gloves to not get messy) but it does save you some batter because when too much liquid mixes in you waste a lot of the flour that gets super thick and can no longer stick

  • Too much hassle. I think Ore Ida makes whole breaded onion rings that you bake in the oven.

    No fuss. No muss.

  • no muss?

  • I mainly dont order or buy onion rings due to there mainly just just not acutally good big onions in it

  • im just wondering.... is it fresh milk i should use to make batter??

  • watching these vids in peices is very anoying all in one would be alot more interesting

  • yea how do u even make the batter

  • Mmm I always preffered delicious onion rings over french fries.

  • Same here.

  • You did the onion in FLOUR FIRST, Then in batter, then in PANKO bread crumbs. we had to do this at Culinary School and if we did it the way he is doing it, i would of failed "onion ring day"

  • yep thats how u do it both my parents are chef and i help them out and we always do flour first and then batter or some sort os liquid and then bread crumbs

    lol nice catch ^^

  • why not mix the powder or something with some bread crums...it will add some more bumps to it the way i like it..

  • here m8 yr doin tht the wrong way round u shud "dredge" your onion in flour first to help the batter stik and also was in nessesary to peel the onion?

  • Thank you, I thought he had it backwards. Also, did he really say that he was gonna move the "whisker" out of the way?

  • Kewl.

  • great video! gotta try this out

  • great video! exept one more thing how are we suppose to know how to make the batter!!

  • he doesnt even tell u whats in it!!!
