It's like a trip back in time, that fills in all the missing details that I just could not gather from multiple computer magazines I read back then :)
lol don't forget when he sees Clive in the C5... The QL and the C5 caused his downfall, he wouldn't listen to the people around him and ended up with Amstrad devouring his company for a pittance.
Micro Men is fantastic, a very realistic documentaion which completely dropped me back into the 80s. Our public Broadcasters here in Germany should see, what the BBC can do with their money they got from the People. At least BBC4 seems to make a program -with- the people and not only -for- the people.
Nice bit of nostalgia. The QL was actually agreat machine, despite the quirky keyboard and rather horrid microdrives. The OS and native BASIC variant were excellent (multitasking, device independence etc).
@mikadganjad This likely refers to a complete system with monitor (which back then would have added significantly to the base QL's price)
The same uploader has an uncut version of this ad with the original soundtrack which refers to the QL "system". On that one the price for the BBC micro system is "£1632", but the bare BBC B itself was "only" £400 or so back then.
We can assume they added optional (and expensive) disk drives to make the BBC "comparable" to the QL's integrated microdrives.

I totally agree. I am now replicating Martin Freeman's face having watched this. The man has lost the plot.

It was, wasn't it? The madness and bloody-mindedness of Clive Sinclair was amazing.

En realidad, Sir Clive se dio el trastazo de su vida con el QL ¿o fue con la C5?

MY GOD!!!! Did I see correctly the price tag of £698. No wonder the QL died quickly.
