yes she is singing in the original key here and she's SINGING not lip syncing so I am so glad to see this and put to rest all these nay-sayers that say she can't sing and can only lip sync, it is ridiculous, not sure why she didn't do the ACTUAL performance in the park in the original key, it was lower, possibly because she drowns out Mr. Bocelli when she truly turns on the "Celine Machine" lol

He's performed in two separate FULL productions of Werther - separate venues. Rodolpho in a full production of La Boheme at the Teatro Comunale in Cagliari. He's portrayed Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, among others. I think the producers and directors of these fully staged operas would take exception to your opinion that Andrea has NEVER performed in a opera. How odd that an informed opinion would not be aware of these events.

The only made me a little sad here is that Celice americanized herself too much. I remember when she could sing in italian without accent. Now I can hear a great singer but like an american great american singer singing in another language. Few americans could do it well ( Connie Francis is a great example of it)

Well, I guessed I got caught for irresponsible taking. I would like to take back what I said about Celine. Besides I have absolutely negative feeling towards her.

Celine has a typical pop white female's voice. I am just not a fan of hers for her voice is stiff, cold, full of annoying nose voice, lack of soul, warmth, fire, richness, and timbre. She is over-rated for her singing ability as a pop singer.

But I won't take back what I said about Andrea Bocelli.

@Doooku her voice is warm, soulful, firey, rich, full of glow, giving and yearning not stiff, not cold, if you listen to her CD's and get a FEEL FOR HER VOICE then hopefully you will see that, rather than just knowing the Titanic or whatever, Celine has a MAGNIFICENT and EMOTIONAL voice~! When she has to sing a song full of big notes like this song here then she has to move LOTS of AIR and yes it can get stiff, go listen to some of her ALBUMS and her softer side, her voice is GORGEOUS~!!!!!

@jak30341 i totally agree. i'm still positive that she can still sing her old songs the way she sung it before like all by myself, regarde-moi, le blues du businessman, the power of love. if you put her in a studio and ask her to sing those songs, given that she had enough rest, vocalization, and by not thinking of her appearance, for sure she can still do it, she can still hit that all by myself note together with it's force. i think she still can do it.

@jak30341 if we'll about force, have you notice that her voice recordings on the taking chances album has so much force? listen to taking chances, that's the woman in me, map to my heart. it's so clear that she can still throw those notes from her vocal cords. let's say, we'll have her do just one show, two months prep and once she's done with her so she'll have months of rest and we'll request that she'll sing her songs exactly as she recorded it. do you think she's not capable to do it?

@jak30341 - i know that there's lots of times that she didn't sound great 'coz of her diction & maybe 'coz of her moods or heavy outfits or the pressure of using a dfficlt stage or smply just 'coz she's not relaxing when deliverin her piece, that some people cnclded that she can't sing the way she used to. i think it's nt true. 2 mch tension, stress, & pressure on what's been expctd of you cn affect ur voice, especially when u're doin lots of show with just minimal time for rest & vocalization.

Did you read the New York Times music critics on Bocelli? Majority of the tenors, sopranos, etc., trained 5 hours a day, years after years, working extremely hard. And suddenly a blind tenor who has no training and no voice claimed the title "The Greatest". I think it is melodramatic and hilarious. this must be a rehearsal and it is in a higher key, most likely the original key they recorded it in and Celine sounds INCREDIBLE, amazed she can pull this song off in that key still those notes are HUGE....she does play with her earpiece at one point, almost looks like out of nervousness or perhaps she felt her voice was shaky in that key and so they lowered it, she seems to struggle slightly when singing really high but she still can definitely pull it OFF as displayed here!

Mr. Bocelli is "outrageously over-rated"--that's the whole point. He may have a "sweet" voice to some people but his singing is at best the level of high school choir. @Doooku The New York Times is wrong and its critics should be fired! Put 10 experts in a room and you'll hear 10 different opinions. Excellent technique does NOT always ensure a beautiful singing voice. It helps but its all in the tone and Bocelli has a beautiful tone and a "gift" that can't be disected and examined under a microscope. Its also not a matter of endless practice because Pavarotti couldn't even read music and was a salesman until the age of 27. He too had some lucky breaks.

@TheLaura200 I think it was recorded before Sep 15, but sure about the date though... I think this is from the soundcheck they did right before the show started - Celine wore the same dress when she got on stage later on and her hair was not pulled back. She usually pulls her hair back while rehearsing, I guess she finds that pretty comfy :)
