I keep searching on youtube but I can no longer find the original version. I remember two or three years ago listening to a different version of this song that sounded more finished and higher quality. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
@MrPragmatism yeah, also the original version of the song called "O.G" which was on the snoop lost session album, is alittle better than the version on Daz' Revenge, Get Back album. also Lets hope they finally release the Next Episode 1993 in good quality (theres a the Crooked I version in good quality but not snoop & dre.)
Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but there was an even better version of this that was released on some LA radio station - sure the cussing was bleeped, but the beat was cleaner and Nate Dogg was on it.
classic west coast underground cut by young starz. i first heard this when kurupt brought it to the radioactive show in philly '94. it became #1 requested song for like 2months straight, even though it was hella bleeped cuz it wasnt radio edited. i like the original better with nate dogg on corus but this will do. been waitin a long time for this to come out cuz i wore out the tape i recorded back in '94. lol i still bump it anywayz!
This was some good rap in the late 90s but most of it didn't get any attention. Look up bad azz word on the streetz. There's more good albums from the late 90s but I can't name them off hand.
this a very awesome song . i wouldnt really call it a beat . doggpound never really made hiphop tracks but full complete songs . they were the best to do it and open doors for hiphop to dominate till this day . no one can make music like dpgc and dre did from 92 -96
Definitely had to be recorded during the making of the Chronic or Doggystyle. I would bet money that this wasn't the original beat though. I'm sure this had either a Dre beat or a much tighter Daz beat than this one.
This song is top 20 new skool westcoast gangsta rap g-funk and it makes it with those drums and piano instruments in that familiar gritty cut em' down sharp chop ya up lyrics by the microphone tryant kurupt, slick spitta daz, and that wise mouth rhyme slayer snoop. Song is seriously hard for a rap song and i mean hard in all genre of what hard is being, whether its hardcore gangster rap sound that makes it hard or just hard in general i.e. rock, jazz, metal, punk, skaw, alternative. hard allroun
this is the DPG I want

Why did the dogg pound have so many unreleased songs from the late 90s? Why didn't they drop an album and did Dogg Shit even exist?

I aint seen any hip-hop since 1996 that is of any real class...1991-1996 was the years of real hip-hop!
We need to get that vibe back?
