  • Larry Coryell comes across as a master guitarist here. And the best thing is that he exudes delight in music-making. Inspiring. Very.

  • Who is saz player and other muscians?

  • Does anyone know what the chords on the solo part are? I know the chords on the melody part, but I don't manage to come up with an appropriate chord scheme -.- It kinda reminds me of "Sunny", am I right? I am now thinking in general, not necessarily based on this version... Please respond, and thank you for the amazing video :D

  • @LiberoMan Yes! you can play Sunny melody over that chord progression. Check the Real Book for the exact chord progression, it varies slightly from Sunny.

  • Larry is a badass I just downloaded 3 of his albums..cheers!

  • ah super 400 !

  • That sax player looks like Zoot :-)

  • Amazing,

lol at larry coryell jumping at 7:42

  • Jim McGee-Band Leader/Bassist: I remember this night as just totally in the pocket right from the downbeat. Larry Coryell was just incredible both as a musician and as a real down to earth guy who had a great time with the band. These players are as good as it gets! Thanks guys & thank you KootchDaddy99 for putting us up here.

  • I was director for the series. Wow, almost forgot about this night. Great to see it up here

  • Some nice jazzin' by Mr.Coryell

  • Go Mike Trach

  • whhha?? his phrasing is brilliant...so creative. so nice on the ears

  • That sax player is sick! Who is he!

  • That was phat, however...

the drummer is using a hit kit!

Its not a bloody power ballad is it!

Ah, the nineties, can't live with em', wouldn't be alive without em.

  • Ah, there is an explanation of the circumstances of this performance under ABOUT THIS VIDEO, Perhaps if you read that, you would have understood I was locked into that rig via Midi and hadn't expected to playing that selection with Mr. Coryell

Thanks for your comment and taking the time to watch.

  • What a trip! I loved reading about the surprise of his suggesting a jam -- I'm happy for you! Loved the performance. And yeah, in my experience he's become a truly respectful, compassionate gentle-person. Awesome. He's absolutely one of the world's greatest musicians, imo.

  • Tasty

  • Incredible

  • Man, what a great performance all around. The alto's tone was phenomenal.

  • He sounds like he has matured in his playing over the years; he used to want to do everything in one solo...and as fast as he could...this is a bit more tasty....he was my neighbor when I lived in Westport, CT...

  • Great as always. Gotta love that Super 400!
