  • Great vid I have a vid of a Subaru driving past with a great dump valve go check it out on YouTube put in Madbass246

  • what company

  • woow....got the same valve on my 1.6 turbo RS :D it cost round 80 euros!!!!!

  • beautiful...

  • w000t !(L)

  • turbo xs hah i have the same one :)

  • They look like eyes - nice sound btw

  • thats a blow off valve you fucking IDIOT a dump valve its a pipe coming off the wastegate that is only used when you fully boosting, instead of having the extra exhaust go back into the exhaust line, it is about a foot or so long, and "dumps" if you will, right under your engine, making it sound beast when your boosting. it doesnt really add and performance benifit.

  • @testiclesackticle Can't you say this in a normal way? Like, starting you sentence after the word "Idiot"?

  • i'm tiiirrred.

  • i dont get it... lol

  • loooooooool

  • cockneyfug like cockneythug? the dubstep song

  • yer m8

  • Um sorry, but you're actually the one who is wrong here. A Blow Off Valve and a Dump Valve do the same thing (vent excess intake pressure when throttle closes) except that a BOV adjusts to multiple pressures whereas a Dump Valve has a preset pressure. A Dump Valve has nothing to do with the waste gate. A waste gate regulates the exhaust to control how the turbo spools up. You are right that this is a BOV, but you need to go do some research yourself so you yourself dont look like an idiot!

  • a dump valve is in the inside of the exhaust intake side of the turbo housing opening when reaching peak boost. (whatever you set that to, unless your waste gate actuator has an default psi setting) it is possible that i'm confusing a dump valve with a dump pipe, but then i looked at what i was ssaying and realized that wasnt the case. if i'm wrong explain further. i dont want to "be right" i just want to know the facts.

  • I believe your confusing a dump valve with a waste gate. The waste gate relieves pressure in the EXHAUST side of the turbo. Backpressure being forced back through the turbo would cause it to spool down quickly, so a wastegate vents this excess pressure which helps keep turbo speeds up. A dump valve and a blow off valve vent excess pressure on the INTAKE side when you lift off on the throttle. Thats the difference. My previous comment explains the difference between a BOV and a dump valve.

  • @Mtrhd0024 i dont see the difference in what were saying. but thanks.

  • I don't know... Maybe I'm reading what you're trying to say wrong... But idk, doesn't really matter at this point hahaha!

  • i wish i had one lol

  • im new to car modding and all that but what i want to know is, does the dump valve make that hissing noice when changing gear? and are there diffrent types of valves for diffrent noices? and does it effect your insurance?

  • no that is the blow off valve of the turbocharger. You can get those in the aftermarket.

  • your looking for a blow of valve (bov) and yes there is all kinds most common are greddy and hks. in order to actually use one you need a turbo charged vehicle oh and nope your insurance wont be affected they dont even have to know about it

  • yes you do need to let insurance co know about any mods..if you have a crash and they find out your insurance will be void and they wont pay out..

  • but wouldn't the insurance bill be more a month????

  • an issurance or warranty cant refuse you coverage unless they can prove that the item the item you installed is at fault for the entire thing..or played a major role...and its decided on a case by case business all youve gotta do press it...its a law..just read up know your rights

  • no the insurance company will issue you cover no problem..but if you dont declare modified parts and you have a accident/claim they may not pay out..

  • A dump valve makes that noise when you lift up the gas/close it (as in between shifts), due to inertia, the turbo continues to pressurize air, but the closed throttle prevents the compressed air from entering the engine. In this case the pressure exceeds the preset spring pressure in the dump valve and the excess pressure is bled off to atmosphere.

Yes, there are different types of dump valves for different noises.

  • thankyou for the detailed description it came in very handy

  • Basically the dump valve is an air release for the compressed air build up, it stops it being thrown back on your turbo or forced into the engine, in effect you get the whoosh where it is released into the atmosphere. It's a good bit of kit, protection for both the engine and turbo, reduces the wear and tear.

  • looks like an eye!

  • This is not my car.. I wish!!

Still it sounds real gooooood xD

  • this valve is dumpin

  • Is that Greddy?

  • that bitch sounds bad!

  • what is the purpose of this dump valve?

i dont know much about cars

  • A turbo kicks in after a certain amount of revs, and what it basically does is fire ALOT of air into the engine with a little fan (the turbo). When this happens, you get a big boost from the engine. When you change gear, you obviously dump the revs. Therefore, the excess air in the turbo is dumped. I think... :P

  • the dump valve gets rid of compressed air the turbo builds up,or else your car blows up

  • is the dump valve also called a Blow-off valve (BOV)? I'm new the tuner scene.

  • correct , i belive they have slight difference smewhere alng the line

  • Lets out a surge of air so new compression can come in so the boost is there faster , without a dump on a heavy boosting car you wit for the boost each gear where dump valve you can flick boost to boost (gear to gear) and when you drop the box you dont have that gap inbetween power

  • wicked

  • SG7931- how bout u shut the fuck up u silly little wanker or u'll be making a lot of noise wen i shove my fist down ur throat ya immature bastard

  • Ye i like the look of that 1. i got a forge in my A3 aswell! Forge Are Wicked!

  • what kind of dump valve is it ? forge ?

  • Its A Turbo XS Blow Off Valve Type H

  • Does sound good. . . but they really are a waste of time.

  • Read:

The people that go completely overkill and get parts for their cars strictly for noise that give no performance upgrade are extremely annoying. Especially BOV's.

  • i completly agree. very annoying. but a dump valve like that does improve performance, altho it is overkill and there are a lot of cheaper parts they could of bought which give the same performance...+1

  • thats what a dump valve is meant to sound like! good vid

  • SICK I GOT ONE IN MY SUBARU IMPREZA

  • that is 1 fukin shit and a sounds sick but look at the shape it looks like a rag head bastard

  • or a bell end

  • i know ill sound like an idiot but, what ARE the differences, BOV and dump valve..?

  • from what i can see a dump valve basically has holes all around while BOVs are made with one big hole with some kind of a funnel on it to make the sound louder.

I like this one though :)

  • They both do the pretty much the same thing..however the BOV valve you can adjust the pressure at which it releases air and it also allows the turbo to freewheel..

  • thats the real shit man a hardcore dump valve

  • Now THAT is what a dump valve should sound like.

  • it looks like a little robot's face, wearing a purple turban - opening and closing his little eyes

  • lololol so it does

  • haha this made me laff

  • @dan101dan LOL what a brilliant description

  • @dan101dan looke like the one from robot chicken lmfao becareful he might hump ur turbo

  • @dan101dan You must have some good weed.

  • @dan101dan LOLOLOLOLOLOLO! It honestly does!

  • @dan101dan ROFLCOPTER!

  • FMDVSUB01

    Forge BOV Better!

    Austin

    Forge Motorsport

  • thats not a dump valve its a blowoff valve still sounds nice though

  • They're the same thing..

  • Yes, you're right, I only found this out after posting though. Damned lack of edit.

  • haha :P

i remember i thought they were the same, simmiler tho :)

  • its the same hing dumb shit

  • Blowoff valves are sometimes incorrectly called dump valves because they serve a similar function, but they are very different solutions to the same problem.

  • wtg wikipedia

  • thats not a dump valve its a blowoff valve still sounds nice though

  • Nice Sound xD
