@RockingJamboree The soundtrack for the original film was written by David Arnold. When they made the TV series, the show's composer, Joel Goldsmith (son of the famous Jerry Goldsmith), adapted it into this.
A few more things I just realized I missed (funny how I always find these *after* posting)...
The original has some bell-like percussion (glockenspiel?) doubling the melody most of the time.
Also, the video I referenced seems to be half a step flat from the actual theme. That would explain a few things that seemed weird about the key signature.
seems like a final fantasy 90's song, i prefere the original !

Already discovered my first known mistake - the outro (starting ~0:52) should have a snare drum roll. Oops!
