Ok no joke, I had the video muted so I didn't know it was a laser pointer, but when I saw the dot flying around at 0:54, I thought it was a diorama-sized butterfly, flying around the diorama for a realistic effect.
@BaneslayerAngel95 Thank you for the feedback. I try to have the pictures of the items shown already up on the website. Now I include a link to the pictures in the description. Kind of lame it took me so long to make that a habit. :P
@Terranscapes im still a new player in the warhammer 40k world, me and my friends play at the kitchen table, we have lousy paint job on our figures... u get the point
but in the future ( if and when i earn some money ) i hope i will buy some of your products :D
@BaneslayerAngel95 Welcome to the hobby. Its never too early to start making some simple terrain pieces for yourself until your funds are more abundant. Start with some simple hill, rubble piles, craters. Even if they are not masterpieces, they will add a lot to your gaming.
@sparkyjohan That's what I do. ;) You should visit TerranScapes website for more information. Currently the store is closed due to high demand. I need time to catch up a bit.
How do you do your flocking? I just started making my very first game board. It's just a free sheet of particle board that I spray painted with rust-o-leum textured paint and a stone finish. The texturing looks nice, however, I tried to flock it with some grass and snow for a tundra-like effect, but it looks horrible. Your flocking is really nice looking, what's your method? I don't have a lot of money to spend, I'm in college.
@Doughboy072 Thank you for the compliment. While I don't do tutorials at the moment here are some tips that might help for flocking. Paint on PVA glue then sprinkle with flock. Use blends or 2-3 colors for realism. Spray with watered down PVA after to seal it. Try to feather edges of patches. For snow, much trickier. For drifts, try mixing snow with pva and apply with spatula. Then sprinkle snow over it while wet and seal with spray as above. A very fine mist is needed for snow.
@Terranscapes Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. Wish I had your talent. Oh well, practice makes perfect! Thanks for helping this infant wargamer get results!
@SuperMinigun123 Not sure what you mean exactly. The buildings are from the Games Workshop Imperial Sector boxed set. If your looking for finished buildings, I'm not taking orders at the moment. :( Still really backlogged. Working on it though.
@jmrjhulk No tutorial, but not terribly difficult. I save all my bad plaster casts in a box. When I need rubble, the box and hammer meet each other for an hour. :) When building large piles, don't forget to base it in foam to save on materials and time.
Nice video. The two tone is a good idea. Of the three buildings the last one is the one that worked best for me. The colours seemed to work really well together.
Great looking Terrain! The lazer pointer was way better then the denistry tool, and the different color for the interoirs looks more realistic. Cant wait to see more terrain!
i think the grass patches are looking more natural in this version, the more asymmetrical patterning has a better feel I think. Would be nice to see more layered color variation on the ground cover (instead of green/brown, maybe green/yellow, bluebrown/ redbrown)
@chicophi220 Thanks. Normally I use a few colors as you suggest but here it was intended to match the customers existing models/terrain. Though, saying that, I didn't suggest adding other colors. Perhaps next time. :) Though, even using only one color, because the patches are relatively small, it still looks quite natural. In addition, up close, the blend has several colors which helps to reduce to monotone look.
One of my most fav channels on the tube. I really get a kick when I see a new video from you :D And this was just outstanding! Gosh I love your terrain projects very much. Good on you for trying out new things, the buildings look very cool. Thanks for the inspiration!
