a couple days ago, when i got home from school(still in fifth grade), a lady knocked on my door with a basket with three kittens,less than 3 days old. the lady told my mom and i that a man was going to kill them. my mother decided to let me keep them. i still have to feed them with a sirgen and it's so cute! there eyes are opened yet, they can't hear, and one of them still has that brown thing on its tummy. i am soo sorry they don't have there mommy :(

@BrittZsArt it's not just people that abandon them... sometime the mother will abandon the kitten, just like in dogs... the reason being that the offspring is the runt of the litter, small or sickly... it's a natural selection thing... i saw a video where a woman did terrible things and killed a kitten... probably drugged it before... it's a shame... this is at least heart warming to see....

Aww...my family just rescued an abandoned kitten. We found her when she was about 6 wks old-she was severely dehydrated & underweight. Luckily my father is a vet & he helped nurse her back to health. She's a strong 2 mo old kitten who loves to cuddle & fall asleep in your lap. Oh' we named her Sohpie & she's grey & white!

I found a little abandoned kitten like this once. We took it to the vet and they told us to just take it to be put down! We refused and now he is a GIANT maincoon name Gizmo and he's as healthy as a horse. :)

@skaterXboy1995 4 day old kittens don't eat food. They only drink milk. Also Moms of newborn animals will starve themselves until their babies can walk so they never leave them alone.

My and my cousin found two baby kittens while rideing our bikes and we brought them home we plan on takeing them to a vet later to get them checked out the boy one is really fat and might have worms while the girl one is very weeak and doesn't move much
Good on you guys for taking care of her, when no one else would. I just brought in an abandoned cat (not a kitten). I'm now trying to find her a home. It's so sad what happens to these cats. There really should be tough laws, rules and regulation. At least, IMO.
I've been there. I found a kitten, eyes not open yet, being eaten alive by fire ants. She was bleeding from every orifice and definitely a goner. I took her home, just to give her a warm safe place to die. I really thought there was no hope.
Next morning, she was meowing. I was like holy cow, so I called the vet and said "now what?" Friends and I arranged around the clock feedings, and sure enough, she pulled thru. Lived a long happy life.
@Danmera Waw, that story actually made me cry a little. It bothers me to be so sensitive but it only proves how strong human emotions can be. So glad that kitten got better, it must have been in pain and I'm glad people don't give up on what seems to be a lost cause. It's never too late as long as it's still breathing or has a beating heart.

I had been hearing crying for about 3 days but couldn't figure out where it was coming from....finally saw this little gray wet ball of fur up in my bushes. Thanks for saving this cat. My own cat was an abandoned kitten when I found him outside my apartment building in 2003 during a severe thunder storm. Thankfully, he was weaned, and his 1st meal with me was canned tuna.
I saw a thing on TV, on the animal planet I think it was, some sick guy seperated kittens from the mother, in some experiment to see how long it would take for them to die in a box. In the end they were only able to save the one, the others got hypoglacimia or something. Never did catch or arrest the person that did it, People like that should be put in a jail cell and starved til they are bone thin, see how they like it. What did those kittens deserve for that person to starve them to death.

QUESTION Please. Do you ever have to force feed a kitten to save his or her life? I had to take a new born kitten away from his mother once. He would not eat her milk. So I bought the special kittens milk and he still woudn't eat. 24 hours later he died. Should I have force feed him. I feel real bad about it, because I was careless around those kittens and they did get wet at one point with a deposit of rain water.
@silkmann Yes sometimes you do have to force feed kittens in order to save them. The best thing to do is to take them to your nearest vet to find out how much and how often they need to be fed according to their body weight, and they should have a wellness exam done by the vet as well. Then you need to get the right size bottle and correct formula from the vet too.
@silkmann I'm sorry you lost the kitten, I know you tried with what you had at the time. In the future it's best to make sure that your cats are spayed and/or neutered so this doesn't happen again and remember local shelters always have kittens available for adoption. Thanks so much!
when i first picked up my stray cat it was exactly as old as yours in the video. it was tedious having to feed the kitten every two hours or so and worrying about its bowel movements. it was so fragile then but now its 3 months old and is very healthy and fit :)

once me and my mum went to usa, and on our travles we found a baby kitten dumped in a box under a bin ( a big metal bin ) . we saved it and found some one in a shop to take care of it. if we did not go on holday, if we did not here the kitten crying, if we woke up half an houl later that kitten would of been crused by the big metal bin. im so glad i saved that kitten. x god bless those of you saving animals x

i found my sweet kitty out behind my sister's house when she was like 2 days old her momma was apparently killed by a possum and she was the only one that survived and was clearly the runt... she never did get really big because of stunted growth and now is 2 years old but still is light as a feather but healthy and quite quite frisky! Honestly! I'm covered in cat scratches! lol

Next morning, she was meowing. I was like holy cow, so I called the vet and said "now what?" Friends and I arranged around the clock feedings, and sure enough, she pulled thru. Lived a long happy life.

@Danmera Waw, that story actually made me cry a little. It bothers me to be so sensitive but it only proves how strong human emotions can be. So glad that kitten got better, it must have been in pain and I'm glad people don't give up on what seems to be a lost cause. It's never too late as long as it's still breathing or has a beating heart.

@Danmera i found a 6 week old(?) kitten hiding in the bushes outside my ground floor condo in the Boston suburbs. I had been hearing crying for about 3 days but couldn't figure out where it was coming from....finally saw this little gray wet ball of fur up in my bushes. Kitty will now lead a life of a king and will be loved forever. Rags to riches kitty story

Thanks for saving this cat. My own cat was an abandoned kitten when I found him outside my apartment building in 2003 during a severe thunder storm. Thankfully, he was weaned, and his 1st meal with me was canned tuna.

I saw a thing on TV, on the animal planet I think it was, some sick guy seperated kittens from the mother, in some experiment to see how long it would take for them to die in a box. In the end they were only able to save the one, the others got hypoglacimia or something. Never did catch or arrest the person that did it, People like that should be put in a jail cell and starved til they are bone thin, see how they like it. What did those kittens deserve for that person to starve them to death.

QUESTION Please. Do you ever have to force feed a kitten to save his or her life? I had to take a new born kitten away from his mother once. He would not eat her milk. So I bought the special kittens milk and he still woudn't eat. 24 hours later he died. Should I have force feed him. I feel real bad about it, because I was careless around those kittens and they did get wet at one point with a deposit of rain water.

@silkmann Yes sometimes you do have to force feed kittens in order to save them. The best thing to do is to take them to your nearest vet to find out how much and how often they need to be fed according to their body weight, and they should have a wellness exam done by the vet as well. Then you need to get the right size bottle and correct formula from the vet too.

when i first picked up my stray cat it was exactly as old as yours in the video. it was tedious having to feed the kitten every two hours or so and worrying about its bowel movements. it was so fragile then but now its 3 months old and is very healthy and fit :)

once me and my mum went to usa, and on our travles we found a baby kitten dumped in a box under a bin ( a big metal bin ) . we saved it and found some one in a shop to take care of it. if we did not go on holday, if we did not here the kitten crying, if we woke up half an houl later that kitten would of been crused by the big metal bin. im so glad i saved that kitten. x god bless those of you saving animals x

I had a kitten that was one day old, we found her in a basement full of water, when her mother was running away because she heard us coming, she had two kittens in her mouth and one of them dropped in the water, we picked her up and took care of her.

i found my sweet kitty out behind my sister's house when she was like 2 days old her momma was apparently killed by a possum and she was the only one that survived and was clearly the runt... she never did get really big because of stunted growth and now is 2 years old but still is light as a feather but healthy and quite quite frisky! Honestly! I'm covered in cat scratches! lol

@UKPhilosophy Sorry but since the baby kitten was unable to feed itself (because she didn't have a mother to nurse her) we had to force feed her or else she would have died. Would you rather she die instead? I know it may be hard to watch but it was very necessary for her to live. ~Peace~

I lost my little boy five years ago, and I had to bottle feed him for four weeks until he started eating kitten food. (He was three weeks when I brought him home, and he HATED his bottle! He used to rabbit kick it when I fed him.)
