More like a recital than a song. Even despite the awful mechanical recording technique (phonograph cylinder not gramophone disc?) it shows how good the man was. But he doesn't seem to quite fit modern divisions between a high baritone and a low tenor. I came here from listening to Dmitri Hvorostovsky and I wish he would record more of these folk songs and poems set to music.
